The “holiest” person I know is my 22 year old daughter who is a nonverbal special needs young lady. When you talked about the “still small voice” when God spoke to Elijah, I thought of my daughter. She has no use of her hands and has to be fed, dressed, walked, etc. When she does make a sound, it often sounds like a kitten. God made her this way. She is the opposite of this world’s definition of a “productive citizen,” and yet, there are no words for me to describe how she effects me, my wife, her three brothers, and all those who encounter her. She is able to receive Christ in the Eucharist and was confirmed this past June. I feel like a saint lives in my house! Her little face glows with the love of Christ. It is beyond me why God chose to bless me with this precious child. I praise God for this teaching Dr. Hahn! I sometimes grow weary, but God has used this truth you are speaking about to renew my strength.
So grateful for this. I had an “aha” moment when Dr. Hahn was talking about how we are supposed to work for 6 days and then rest on the 7th IN ORDER to allow God to work. And that was partly why the Pharisees were so upset with Jesus for healing on the sabbath; only God was supposed to “work” that day, so Christ was revealing His divinity to us once again in that moment. But it is a powerful lesson that I intend to apply to my own life and that of my families: on Sundays, I dedicate the day not only “to the Lord” but IN ORDER to allow Him to work in me. Praised be to Jesus Christ. Thank you both.
Wow !! this is something we don't think about... yet so true and counterintuitive! We are indeed are made perfect in our waiting and resting in God's holiness alone!!
The authentic Genesis 2:2,3 seventh day 'Shabbat' (Hebrew for the Sabbath Day) is not "the first day of the week." It's the day defined as "the Holy of YHWH" in Is 58:13 as THE DAY BEFORE the first day of the week, just as Friday (the sixth Biblical day of the week), is "The Preparation" for the true Sabbath (Lk 23:54-56). Besides, Sunday begins six hours after the start of the first day of the week and ends six hours earlier. Genesis teaches us that God's days are measured from sunset onward, through the morning, and back to sunset. Not as pagan culture keeps time, from midnight to midnight. "And the evening and the morning were the sixth day" (Gen 1:31 KJV) The sanctified and blessed Shabbat, the sign of the everlasting covenant (Ex 31:13,16; Is 56:6; 58:13,14; 66:22-24; Mk 2:27,28; Heb 13:20,21) is perpetually from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, as was Jesus' custom. All things are delivered to Him (Matt 11:27) so He becomes LORD, even of the Shabbat He made to receive our worship. This is the one and only Sabbath within Jesus' yoke (Matt 11:29,30; 12:8,50) Don't expect to experience the promise of Is 58:14 if not treasuring the specific day preset from Creation itself as an everlasting covenant in its own right (Ex 31:13,16; Is 56:6) The blessing on THIS Sabbath of the Ten Commandments is immutable and incomparable (Is 58:14; Matt 5:17-19; Rom 3:31; 1 Jn 2:3-6; 5:3). Its promise and benefits are non-transferable. Sunday has none of the recuperative and regenerative potential of the Ps 42:2,4 Sabbath. Israel only needs a one day weekend to be replenished, whereas we need two, because Sunday can't match the quality of the promised rest and refreshing God Himself experienced in Eden (Heb 4:1-11) HUMAN tradition has no authority. The tradition referred to in 2 Thess 2:15 is not HUMAN tradition. Look at Strong's definition of 'paradosis,' as 'Hebrew traditionary law,' meaning the Set/Appointed Times of YHWH, being perpetual, continue ad infinitum under the Hebrew New Covenant, as Is 66:22-24 makes so plain. Mk 7:6,7,9,13 lays down the principle. Apostasy begins with repudiation of God's own ordering of time. Sunday's MISUSE as a substitute sabbath by presumptuous ecclesiastical invention, causes the true Sabbath to be polluted by its DISUSE (Is 56:6). Rather keep the Sabbath that's commanded by God as the amalgam of the one new man (Ex 20:8-11; Matt 12:8), and then meet on Sunday, not under false pretences in the guise of Shabbat, but acknowledging that Sunday is not what human tradition has made it out to be (He was raised on the first day of the week but neither institutionalized every Sunday as Resurrection Day, NOR transferred His Father's Sabbath to Sunday). Then we don't corrupt the truth and defile Friday evening to Saturday evening (Is 56:6), and ourselves, by misrepresenting "the first day of the week," WHICH EVEN JESUS' MOTHER AND CLOSEST HANDMAIDS DID NOT KEEP AS THE COMMANDMENT WRITTEN FOR US ALL IN EX 20. They rested their works (even embalming the Son of God in death, being unacceptable to the Father, as a breach of the commandment) "according to the commandment" (Lk 23:54-56; 24:1). In short, Shabbat, coming around every seventh independently of tbe Jewish people and the calendar because it was made for mankind (Gen 2:2,3; Mk 2:27,28), is fixed by eternal commandment as the day between "The Preparation" (Yom Shishi, the sixth day) and "the first day of the week" (Yom Rishon, head of the working week which apostate Gentiles disavow, preferring the Babylonian Mon-Frid workweek). Shabbat is forever the day which Israel as timekeeper has preserved and which Jesus unequivocally confirmed in doctrine and practice (Matt 5:19). Any other formula for proposing the identity of the covenanted sabbath is a "cunningly devised fable" (2 Peter 1:15,16) of a "seducing spirit" (1 Tim 4:1), as the genuine Mary, Peter and Paul fully concede. Apostasy BEGAN with repudiation of the Sabbath. If we continue in this contempt for the indivisible marriage covenant (Ex 34:27,28,32), our sin WILL find us out (Nu 32:23), because Mary couldn't be holy had she not kept the Day the Father sanctified for all of us in the eternal House of Jacob (Lk 1:33; Eph 2:11,12) as His sign between us that He alone sets apart a people for Himself (Ex 31:13,16); Paul no less; and at no point does Peter's Gospel vary from Paul's (Gal 2:6-10; 2 Peter 3:16-18). So, better to be divided by the truth (Lk 12:47-53) than united with the deceived, by trying to dignify a lie which told often enough, becomes truth in the eye of the beholder. In other words, better to choose sanctification by the Truth of God and His Word (Jn 17:17,19) to find "the unity of the faith" (unanimity in sound doctrine - Eph 4:11-14) in two's and three's as a quorum sufficient to attract the reward of the genuine Presence (Matt 18:20), than "follow the crowd to do evil" (Ex 23:2), for God will not be mocked by His precepts being set aside, for whomsoever does so or who condones such deviation to the left or to the right, sows to his flesh and will reap corruption (Gal 6:7-9).
Prayers appreciated for myself … I’m in RCIA this year, and will be confirmed at Easter. Some of my closest friends do not support me whatsoever in this journey of mine. I cried for over twenty minutes today - the loneliness is real and heavy to bear.
I will say a prayer for you. I pray for you to find Catholic community where you are and hold on tight to Jesus. I was confirmed at Easter this year and my grown children are having a hard time adjusting. They are reformed Presbyterian (the way we raised them) so want to argue the Catholic out of me. I’ve found some good support in my priest and friends. Praying for you to walk faithfully in what God has shown you. Much love.
I'm converting as we speak. will be confirmed at Easter. It's almost socially awkward. Almost nobody understands. I imagined it differently. The Lord will give you the peace of mind. As I pray for you, do the same for me.
Shilomonroe-donovan4, praying for you now! Look up! ❤️ The Lord is with you! He is for you! Make up your mind to not let the enemy have a foot in the door if family members want to argue it…Tell them that you love them, and that you are following your conscience and your heart as the Lord has set this in front of you. Continue to love and serve your family as you have before. I will pray for your joy and your peace to be visible to all those around you. I imagine I will be in the same situation very soon as I’m about to start RCIA classes myself. I’m thinking about typing some things out and making some copies and giving them to my family members who may be shocked, surprised or upset ,because there’s one thing I’m not going to do… And that is to feel like I have to argue my way through. The enemy thrives on strife. And I will not do it. The things that I am learning are too beautiful! I’m not gonna let anybody take my joy. Blessings to you! You are not alone! you have a cloud of witnesses praying for you! 😃❤️
In my opinion, Scott Hahn is the greatest catholic theologian of the 21st century. Few people in the world can talk about the beauty of faith in such a brilliant way. Hahn is primarily a witness of the Lord Jesus, therefore his theology is full of the Holy Spirit! Greetings from Poland!
There's lots of theologians like Scott Hahn in the tradition he came from, conservative Presbyterianism. He makes mention earlier in the video about R.C. Sproul, who wrote a book called The Holiness of God. There's a flare of presbyterianism that Scott has that is not found in many traditions. It's no accident. Scott Hahn talks about the Davidic Kingdom, but forgets 1st 1 Samuel chapter 8, where the establishment of the earthly monarchical system is being described in negative terms. Such an earthly way to think about temporal rule was not initiated by God, but a rejection of G-d, so I think Dr Scott Hahn is off when it comes to the Davidic Kingdom typology. He knows well and I think he focuses on things that suit his typological view.
As a Protestant inquiring into Catholicism. Dr Scott Hahn is such a treasure. Helping me to understand Catholicism and hearing about the faith firsthand rather than from prots who have no clue or have been misguided in their critiques of the faith. Thanks also to Pints With Aquinas for your zeal and enthusiasm. Your willingness to have guests on who illuminate these important topics is excellent!
Everything Mr Hahn says I agree with and was raised with.. and yet I’m a Christian raised in a Protestant church. I’m so confused. I never studied Calvinism so I don’t know what hill he died on.
I still remember the album Godspell, 'Day by Day' we would sing at the 9:30 folk mass at the Church's school Cafeteria, "It's all for the Best", the finale at the end of the album that would bring one to tears, later at Campus Ministry, I was baptised in the Spirit, those were glorious times, the Holy Spirit truly united young flesh with the Spirit like our Father gave us the incarnation of His only begotten son, many remember only the 'free love' and woodstock of the sixties and seventies, but like Stuebenville in the mid eighties, it was a glorious time of the Charismatic Renewal, where we would go to Mass and actually sing praise to God, worship at the Eucharistic CELEBRATION, now you got to Mass with overhead projectors that don't work, snobbish ritualists who look down at the average Joe and Jane singing at all and of course your purists priests who want to sublet everything to an over paid 'Music Minister' who is just as snobish, the seventies and eighties were a vibrant time for Church goers, now the purists and perfectionists remain and the only sound perfectionism brings is the sound of silence, we're all quietists now.
I was told today that if I leave protestantism and affirm justification by infusion and not imputation, I'll be committing apostasy. Please pray for me that I'll find the truth and have the strength to go where God leads me. I'm strongly considering both Catholicism and Orthodoxy and don't see protestantism nearly as valid anymore.
When Scott mentioned the feeling he got when his first child was born I could relate completely. I had a similar experience and I felt God's presence, and finally understood what type of love he has for us. It shook me to my core. Now I'm in RCIA because I know God is real.
This is amazing. I love when Dr Hahn talked about Jesus wants to heal us from the FEAR of suffering. I fear suffering like none other. Thank you so much!
I have pondered that soooo much since I first heard it. That phrase--and the theology behind it--is changing my life. I am a 40-year Christian but only 1 month old in the Catholic faith.
There is so much integrating activity within Dr. Hahn's mind that what he says sounds more mysterious proper to one who has reached the profundity proper to a mystic. Our best response is to behold the Lord who is shining through him.
I'm finishing out a semester of an online course at Franciscan University taught by Dr. Hahn. It has been so profound and has deepened my faith immensely. I'm so grateful! :)
Just last night I took one of my closest friends to his first Mass (an extremely reverent N.O) naturally afterward he had a hundred questions regarding The Mass. I knew this would happen so brought along “The Mass as Heaven on Earth.” By Dr. Hahn. I had finished it just afew weeks ago, and massively recommended it to whoever is reading this! Godspeed and God bless!
Just listening to this lovely conversation, in my loneliness, looking to learn at this late year of my life...and just now you mention our precious Cardinal Pell who has been taken from us, suddenly, tragically, when the Church needs his earthly guidance. Lord have mercy.

To all on here who are converting to Catholicism. Do not be afraid. Always remember to keep your focus on God. He is perfect and so is His plan. He should always come first, before yourself, before family, friends, anyone. You will never be alone, for God Himself suffices. I hold the world in prayer when I pray my rosary. We are all going through something when it comes to our faith. The devil will not prevail. Believe with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind in the Holy Eucharist. May the Holy Spirit descend down upon all who will be receiving the Holy Sacraments this Easter and your families. May He also reunite those who have strayed away from our church. God Bless you all.
And im so rewatching this episode a few more times, oh how much Dr Hahn has been a blessing to many of us today! Thank you Matt! God bless you!! 🙏🏻✝️🙌🏻
I echo the sentiments of the people here. Dr. Hahn is such a great gift from God. I was previously a lost catholic he brought me back thru his books, specifically Rome Sweet Home.May our Lady continue to guide him and strengthen him in his works
Just love listening to Scott Hahn.. even when hes going to fast for me and I can’t keep up. Lol I will need a recap, and I look forward to more sinking in.
I am watching this on Ash Wednesday and I feel like it is a confirmation from God about the anguish I feel about my children. God really ministered to me through this talk and showed me how I should respond and pray for my children. Thank you so much. Oh and yeah I am ready to forgive Dr Hahn now lol . I didnt realize he despise the celebrity thing. I remember bearing the brunt of that...totally embarrassed going up to get a signature when he and his wife came to Jamaica ...so I am very happy to hear him say God told him , they dont want you they want Me :)
Dr. Hahn is such a joy to listen to, thank you so much for having him on again! I ordered his book, and the other book he recommended, I know that both will be enriching spiritually, as well as intellectually.
Completing the circuitry in Christ is a way of helping your children on the way home. Scott, Matt, your dialogues with each other right now. Are prayers. The Lord will fulfill beyond all understanding. I am estranged from my sons, but I am not estranged from Christ when I pray for them at a distance and discussion with others in Christ in faith incarnate.
Enjoy Scott's discussions and books over the years. His comment of going to Reconciliation/Confession every week 1:17 is interesting. If that is admirable and/or necessary we need more Priests - at least in our large parish. 😊
I'm 9 months late to post this for anyone to see, but THANK YOU! for the book recommendation, What Is Redemption. I was raised Lutheran and have been Catholic now for 20 years, but have only just started a "deep dive" into disentangling myself from the grip of "I'm a pile of dung and the Father can only love me because he's looking at Jesus." I look forward to reading the book and continuing the glorious journey into the heart of the Father that loves ME!
Dr. Scott Hahn and Mr. Matt Fradd I cry as I listen to your conversation, I really pray the Holy Rosary for my daughter and son, so much blessings granted. Thanks be to God Amen. I thank God very much for Dr. Scott Hahn and Pints With Aquinas
To GOD be the GLORY 🙏 highly appreciate Matt's interview of Dr. Hahn, touches one's heart and soul, because of GOD The FATHER'S Love and our Lord JESUS lifegiving sufferring🙏
It's always great to listen to your talks with Dr. Hahn! I have some notes made, some new thoughts - and I always feel that Dr. Hahn is trying to simplify the ideas, to reach everyone, never trying to artificially impress us with sophisticated words or mind constructs. I'm grateful and inspired.
Scott, thank you for saying to Matt what you’re saying in Christ. Even though we are the worst of sinners. Matt, sometimes you have to say nothing so that you do not remove all doubt that we are the words to sinners from our.Dyslexic Quay
I absolutely love these talks. And the fun questions of "What about Anne Frank or the thief on the cross?" How it was explained to me by my RCIA teacher is that the sacraments were instituted for us but God is not strictly bound to never work outside the sacraments. They should never be downplayed but we also can never say that they are absolute in terms of someone's salvation, especially in those extenuating circumstances. Same idea if the unborn die before they can be baptized. All we can do is place faith in God's mercy in that He can work outside of baptism.
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household." Acts 16:31. Baptism in the Eucharist are very, very important. But the journey begins with believing in what Christ has done for us. As we read the Scriptures for ourselves in our own personal lives, we begin to see how gracious our kind Lord is.
@@Apriluser The journey can begin with belief. Or it can begin with a person’s baptism at infancy. There are many verses that teach what we must do to inherit eternal life, including belief, baptism, partaking if the body of Christ in the Eucharist, caring for the poor, etc. so we should not discount any of them. God is not limited by the sacraments He puts in place but we absolutely should not ever diminish their salvific graces God promised to bestow through them.
Thanks for answering my question Scott. I actually do own the book you referenced and have been working through it. It's hard when Penal Substitution is literally the air you used to breathe fir so long...
I too am an Anglican and my husband is our priest. We also were/are evangelical in upbringing but have journeyed into the ACNA. The wonderful and blessed thought is that we get to drink from the fountain of the various church traditions: Roman, Orthodox, Anglican, and Protestant traditions. The Spirit has been working everywhere and at all times. These 4 great traditions are, to me, like the four gospels. Not any one of them is complete in itself, but when we see the truth of God‘s word and the work of the Spirit in each one of them, we have afuller picture of the God we serve. Blessings on you!
I will not be attending my own mothers funeral because it would be bearing false witness. I do try to call and have somebody who is caring for her. Wish her a blessed day the person doing it I know does it in Christ. Scott, in a backhanded way. Your parents honored your baptismal promises they made, and you made for your children. I was that for being humble I did not give Christ to my children and I am estranged. I have prayed, but I see them in heaven and I know I will, and faith.
Curious as to what Matt Frad means by " I think things are about to become way worst way quicker than any of us expect" 5:51 Is he talking about persecution? Chaos in the world? Economic colapse? thoughts anyone?
I think we all want the 7 day, 90 day, whatever specified amount of “days” to holiness because it is something we have control over and can do ourselves. But as Dr. Hahn says, holiness is not what we make ourselves because we can’t achieve or earn our own justification, which is hard to accept sometimes! 😅
Matt interrupts Scott at such an important moment!!! . He was saying that maybe the people who seem holy, maybe are but could not be. What did he say afterwards??? Did he say God knows the heart?
Anyone else having problems with getting only this video to play on TH-cam? Any other video I click on works fine, but this one won't load anymore for some reason
As to first 20 minutes, where Dr Hahn basically saying the vertical ( love for God above) , ie, the first three commandments, precedes and prepares and grounds the soul for loving his neighbor as outlined in last seven commandments. In this vein, recall Bonhoeffer’s cherished “ Jesus, a man for others” thematic thrust of Christ character WHEN Jesus himself was really first “a man for the Father” ie, Theo centric and not homocentric . All these observations from Allred Graham the English Benedictine, found in his “ Contemplative Christianity 1974.
I love this dialogue, and especially hearing Dr. Hahn answer good questions I’ve had myself. One suggestion: maybe edit out the sighs into your mic? Just a note for sound aesthetics.😅
What you said about Kimberly wanting what God wants seems to be a key as expressed by Louisapiccarreta as she describes the gift of the divine will of God given to creatures
Everything Mr Hahn says I agree with and was raised with.. and yet I’m a Christian raised in a Protestant church. I’m so confused. I never studied Calvinism so I don’t know what hill he died on.
I think the distinction Matt may have been looking for in the 2nd quarter of the discussion may have been to do with piety, rather than holiness. Christ makes us holy. That holiness can then be revealed (or not revealed) through pious action. Just because there is a lack of piety, it does not necessarily follow that there is a lack of holiness. in other words they share a correlative, but not necessarily causative relationship.
I can’t help but wonder if Jesus hadn’t come yet, in history, if we Gentiles would have been concerts to Judaism. (After hearing Dr. Hahn discuss understanding unbelievers today.)
"I Believe in Love: A Personal Retreat Based on the Teaching of St. Thérèse of Lisieux" by Jean C. J. d'Elbée. Great for those struggling in scrupulosity.
27:00 Original Sin and loss of holiness is why Christ finds the righteous patriarchs in limbo of Sheol - the highest expectation for pre-Incarnation men - and then takes them up to Heaven of the Beatific Vision that is opened first and forever by Christ.
Who is the author of the book Matt referenced - I Believe in Love? I know someone who struggles with scrupulosity and I would like to recommend it to them.
I'm trying to understand the part of the conversation regarding righteousness and holiness. I understand that they're different concepts. But is Scott saying you can be righteous without being Holy, but if you're Holy you are naturally righteous as well?
1:15:30 If I'm no good at judging the utterly wretched degree of my own wretchedness, as Fradd suggests, why think I -- utterly wretched me! (ex hypothesi Fraddi) -- should be any better at judging (and thence believing in) the nature and scope of God's mercy?
“Pride comes before the fall” “Unless the Lord builds the house, the workers labor in vain.” “First sell all you have and give it to the poor, then come and follow me.” So much comes flooding the mind when all of this is presented. More is truly less when it comes to holiness.
This channel makes my wife and I want to become Roman Catholics. We’re in a very tough spot church wise. Prayers are appreciated.
God Bless
Praying for you both.
May our Lord help you discern the path you should take.
🙏🙏🙏

What a beautiful testimony! Thank you for sharing and God bless you, your daughter, and your whole family!
an Angel living amongst us.......the lowly will inherit the Kingdom of God
Thank you for sharing that, brother.
May God bless you and your family.
I let him work in me everyday. All day long always praying and singing in spirit during my labors.
Wow !! this is something we don't think about... yet so true and counterintuitive! We are indeed are made perfect in our waiting and resting in God's holiness alone!!
At what min is that part?
Yes!!! Me too, I was amazed🙌🙏🏼🙏🏼
"And the evening and the morning were the sixth day" (Gen 1:31 KJV)
The sanctified and blessed Shabbat, the sign of the everlasting covenant (Ex 31:13,16; Is 56:6; 58:13,14; 66:22-24; Mk 2:27,28; Heb 13:20,21) is perpetually from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, as was Jesus' custom. All things are delivered to Him (Matt 11:27) so He becomes LORD, even of the Shabbat He made to receive our worship. This is the one and only Sabbath within Jesus' yoke (Matt 11:29,30; 12:8,50)
Don't expect to experience the promise of Is 58:14 if not treasuring the specific day preset from Creation itself as an everlasting covenant in its own right (Ex 31:13,16; Is 56:6)
The blessing on THIS Sabbath of the Ten Commandments is immutable and incomparable (Is 58:14; Matt 5:17-19; Rom 3:31; 1 Jn 2:3-6; 5:3).
Its promise and benefits are non-transferable.
Sunday has none of the recuperative and regenerative potential of the Ps 42:2,4 Sabbath.
Israel only needs a one day weekend to be replenished, whereas we need two, because Sunday can't match the quality of the promised rest and refreshing God Himself experienced in Eden (Heb 4:1-11)
HUMAN tradition has no authority.
Much love.
Forgive them, for they know not what they do...
Praying for and with you as I’m entering the Church as well this Easter. Try and connect with fellow Catholic faithful, it will help.
May the Lord prevent the russian-ukrainian war from spilling into your country.
Greetings from South Africa
I can’t help but agree friend
Agree! God bless you, Dr. Hahn!!
He’s a convert to the faith. He was a Presbyterian Pastor and vehemently anti Catholic. I couldn’t agree more. He make scripture sing.
Such an earthly way to think about temporal rule was not initiated by God, but a rejection of G-d, so I think Dr
Scott Hahn is off when it comes to the Davidic Kingdom typology.
He knows well and I think he focuses on things that suit his typological view.
WOW. This was mind-blowing. Had to pause in the middle for mass and I felt like I was seeing things I never saw before. Thank you
Scott Hahn is a gift from God to the believers.
@@lorenzolozzigallo2589 PSA DESNOT MSKE SENSE FROM A TRINTARIAN POINT OF VIEW. GOD WAS ON THE CROSS NOT THE SON
This is so amazing. All of a sudden, I can see and understand for the first time in my life and I am reaching 70 years old.
Hope everything has worked out for you, brother!
It's been a year
Are you still doing okay?
There's a video by Scott Hahn where he explains why he didn't choose Orthodoxy.
I can listen to Scott all day, wish I could meet him
There is so much integrating activity within Dr. Hahn's mind that what he says sounds more mysterious proper to one who has reached the profundity proper to a mystic. Our best response is to behold the Lord who is shining through him.
This man is so amazing! Thank you, dear Lord, for giving us Dr. Scott Hahn.
Always a delight, Dr. Hahn. I can always listen to you for hours. Thank you!
Hahn's love for Scripture and the faith is contagious.

01:04:37 📜 Holiness is received through grace and is united with keeping the Commandments, especially worshiping God, calling upon His name, and setting apart the Lord's day.

01:45:52 🤔 Misunderstanding of God's justice leads to misconceptions like penal substitution, where divine justice is seen as punishing Christ instead of satisfying the demand for love.
01:46:48 🛡️ The debt we owe to God is to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, fulfilling divine justice through love, not legal fiction.
01:47:28 🕊️ Christ satisfies Divine Justice through vicarious satisfaction, uniting us to Him, and empowering us to love God as He has loved us.
01:47:55 💬 A need to challenge and rediscover the truth behind penal substitution, focusing on God's love perfected through the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
01:48:51 📚 Passages like Isaiah 53 and 2 Corinthians 5 might seem to support penal substitution, but interpretations need to be carefully considered and understood in context.
01:50:14 💪 The need to recognize our own shortcomings and not take ourselves too seriously, relying on the grace of the sacraments and regular confession.

Just listening to Scott's voice and words intantly makes me feel Holier. God love him.
Thanks be to God that we have people like Scott Hanh in our time.
Glory be to Jesus Christ!
And im so rewatching this episode a few more times, oh how much Dr Hahn has been a blessing to many of us today! Thank you Matt! God bless you!! 🙏🏻✝️🙌🏻
Speechless. “Were not our hearts on fire?” That’s how I felt, riveted watching this
Dr Scott Hahn is a Wonderful Catholic and human being. Glory to God!🙏
He is a wonderful Christian.
Dr Scott Hahn was dropping such powerful knowledge, amazing!!
I echo the sentiments of the people here. Dr. Hahn is such a great gift from God. I was previously a lost catholic he brought me back thru his books, specifically Rome Sweet Home.May our Lady continue to guide him and strengthen him in his works
I bet Jesus would do a WAY better job guiding him and strengthening him 😉
@@MicahMarshall4TruthAgreed. It is the Holy Spirit that guides us into truth.
Wow! Dr Scott Hahn is so great! I feel like I should be taking notes! This is so good!
Soooooo happy to listen to Dr Hahn anytime
Loved it! There is sooo much depth in our Catholic Faith! Mind blowing. I'm so grateful.

Dr. Scott Hahn, thank you very much for sharing us your wisdom and Mr. Matt Fradd Pints With Aquinas really inspires the faithful to be good.
New subscriber. I could listen to Dr. Hahn talk all day. So spiritually enlightening.
If that is admirable and/or necessary
we need more Priests - at least in our large parish. 😊
I can’t believe this has only 1.5 k likes!
This is a great episode !
Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Of the grace.

Amazing. Praise God for this. So delighted.
I have watched this four times now. Soooo good.
Really enjoyed this conversation, thank you both.
Thanks for answering my question Scott. I actually do own the book you referenced and have been working through it. It's hard when Penal Substitution is literally the air you used to breathe fir so long...
“In the Beginning” by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI/Joseph Ratzinger (super short collection of four of his homilies) touches on this too!
01:41:00 saving timestamp for future reference
Very good explanation of the atonement.
I am a Protestant that benefits from your work,😊 I am an Anglican, but with an evangelical background.
Goodness I needed this. Thank you thank you.
It's amazing how intertwined and non contradictory scripture and bible is.

Very powerful talk about your fath GOD BLESS ❤❤❤❤❤
Curious as to what Matt Frad means by " I think things are about to become way worst way quicker than any of us expect" 5:51 Is he talking about persecution? Chaos in the world? Economic colapse? thoughts anyone?
Easiest way to answer... yes to all those. He mentioned them on his Locals channel.
This one was really good. Thanks.
You’re absolutely right. It is not our holiness, but the spirit of holiness that Christ shares with us as we grow in him and his Word.
Matt interrupts Scott at such an important moment!!! . He was saying that maybe the people who seem holy, maybe are but could not be. What did he say afterwards??? Did he say God knows the heart?
Seriously who can watch 2 hours I can. Thank you 😊
What I got from listening: Weakness(and thus reliance upon the Holy Spirit) seems to be the way to holiness.
Wow this is a amazing man
01:41:00 atonement until 01:51:00
Great questions by the way!!
She meaning Mary is a perfect temple of GodSonHolySpirit Scott I play the rosary you give voice to on Hallow
Everytime I try to watch this episode it gets stuck loading and never loads. Weird. I'm going to go check rumble.
Is the "lofi" background/waiting video themed uploaded at TH-cam? Really loved the art and music! Need to have it playing at home!
I think you can look up “Catholic Lofi” on TH-cam
It’s also on Spotify!
Everything Mr Hahn says I agree with and was raised with.. and yet I’m a Christian raised in a Protestant church. I’m so confused. I never studied Calvinism so I don’t know what hill he died on.

I believe in Love, a commentary of.....
Didn't understand of whom, if someone may please help me, thanks in advance
"I Believe in Love: A Personal Retreat Based on the Teaching of St. Thérèse of Lisieux"
I guess I need to watch these live. Video is stopping buffering at 1:34:00 ish.
Who thinks Matt should do a daily vlog while doing Exodus 90 next year?
What was the book he was talking about called “I believe in love” it sounds really good
"I Believe in Love: A Personal Retreat Based on the Teaching of St. Thérèse of Lisieux" by Jean C. J. d'Elbée. Great for those struggling in scrupulosity.
Being in Christ
Mediating on the rosary in Christ is ofGodSonHolySpirit
27:00 Original Sin and loss of holiness is why Christ finds the righteous patriarchs in limbo of Sheol - the highest expectation for pre-Incarnation men - and then takes them up to Heaven of the Beatific Vision that is opened first and forever by Christ.
Who is the author of the book Matt referenced - I Believe in Love? I know someone who struggles with scrupulosity and I would like to recommend it to them.
Fr. Jean C. J. d'Elbée
“Pride comes before the fall”
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the workers labor in vain.”
“First sell all you have and give it to the poor, then come and follow me.”
So much comes flooding the mind when all of this is presented. More is truly less when it comes to holiness.
I have noticed that Taylor Marshall and Kennedy hall. I'll never on here. Why?
