Please note: There are several incorrect claims of larger cubes. If you read carefully about these puzzles you will see that they are either not functional or actually smaller (like the one in Michigan in April 2017). Mine holds the official world record which can be checked on the Guinness World Records website. Footage of my cube is available for license here- www.newsflare.com/video/73931/entertainment-arts/man-solves-worlds-largest-rubiks-cube
No, the original cube was poorly designed, so he modified and rebuilt it quite a bit. He created the largest rubik's cube based on a smaller one, but not only an interface to an untouched smaller one.
Awesome! I thought you had mentioned possibly using that big cube as a core a long time ago. I'm surprised you were able to make it this big without becoming too unstable or fragile!
Very interesting and creative! I thought you just managed to build a giant core, I didn't expect a giant Rubiks cube inside of a bigger cube lol. Congrats on another successful project!
(After 9:05) "... but a solution suddenly occurred to me: Bash it with a hammer!" Okay, that line should appear at some point in _every_ video you make from now on!
Why would anyone dislike this lol, don't see the point at all.. Took this guy forever using his own time to build this and to troubleshoot the issues and to get it functional, part of the reason why its the biggest functional cube out there. No idea why a dislike is deserved, hmm? Anyways, great job man :)
To be honest, this was the first thing I thought of when I saw your giant cube, but I discarded that idea because it seemed too silly and fragile :P I watched the rest of the video and the way you attached the pipes to the cube with the molds and connector pipes is amazing! I would never have thought of something like that!
I love your videos so much, they are very interesting and I admire the efforts you invest in creating and inventing new puzzles. But the results are awesome! Congrats for that cube, it really looks like it is a real one! (plus on video you can hardly dinstinguish the depth of the objects)
Very interesting! I was wondering what the core looked like and what materials you used to keep it light enough to operate. Thanks for making this video (:
I don't think, that an actual mechanism would have added much more weight, maybe 20% more. It was impressive to see, that this plastic cube survive this.
+lichtsuchender The issue with that is the material. Obviously you can't use cardboard so it would have to be wood or very thick plastic. Then it becomes much heavier.
+Tony Fisher you totally could use cardboard for this, the foam and tape reinforcements, that you have applied are more then enough. The core is the only part that would need the pipes and screws. I made a paper cube, regular size to be fair, but the core was the only critical part.
+lichtsuchender Cardboard isn't structurally strong enough for something this big and heavy. It would just crush after a few moves. Any minor misalignment puts huge stress on very small areas.
Can you do some dope ass 3 finger tricks with this? And, just try to tell me that this isn't comp legal. It's blacked out with stickers, I see no issue with it. I expect to see this at the next comp.
Very impressive. I think you should make a pedestal which attaches to one of the center pieces so you can move all the faces without lifting the whole thing.
If you had never said a word, I would've had *no idea* you were in the UK lol. (The weather, the architecture, the amount of damp mosses). That's fabulous mate 🇬🇧
Congratulations for building this amazing big thing. I'm gonna share this documentary with my friends. You must be tired by now. What will be your next mindblowing project?Who knows? Who's gonna guess? For me it will be a surprise....................You did surprise many people with this giant cube indeed. And that is what curious people need...............Take period of rest is my advise...............And then suddenly: SURPRISE!!!!!
I saw some comment on a review of the 18cm mass produced puzzle like "What if Tony Fisher used this core in his world's largest 3x3 puzzle?" (As opposed to whatever core they thought was used) I don't think anyone realized that the core was actually the 18cm puzzle.
You should have used magnets inside the boxes, on all adjacent faces inside the cube. This would have helped with stability and general form of the cube. Still impressive to say the least. Good job.
one way he could make it more functional by turning, is by adding felt to 4 sides on each center piece with will make it slide along the rubber like material used on the cube
Also, what if you used the mega rubiks cube you created to be the core of an even bigger puzzle 3x3. That would be a very unstable puzzle, but a cool idea.
omg! the patience and precision you have are astonishing! Great job! It is actually sad that silly dog and cat videos easily get more views. Oh well. Once again cuteness wins over intelligence :(

Tony Fisher You cheated a little, you didn't create the world's largest rubick's cube. You simply created a very large interface to a smaller cube.
+iSweat-Axion It still counts though. Also, it's spelt 'Rubik's'...
No, the original cube was poorly designed, so he modified and rebuilt it quite a bit. He created the largest rubik's cube based on a smaller one, but not only an interface to an untouched smaller one.
Tony Fisher what you should have done is use different sized cardboard boxes and make the worlds largest mirror block
@Sweaty ... Aye, just like linking sections of bungee together (properly) doesn't make them longer but it does make a longer bungee. Savvy ?
Awesome! I thought you had mentioned possibly using that big cube as a core a long time ago. I'm surprised you were able to make it this big without becoming too unstable or fragile!
Hi you are epic to I have put a like on most of your vids.
legoboyz3! Omg Le Legoboyz3 is here
sooooooooo that means you can use this rubiks cube as a core for an even bigger one :D
Hmm, I see your humor xD but I'm afraid not since much weight will crush it
Yeah it wouldn't be strong enough to make a cube out of a cube out of a cube.
"Hi, yes is this the cubicle? I'd like to order some stickers."
"Okay, what size? 56 mm? 57?
"Eh, 57. Centimeter. Per sticker."
DazzleAlec "Oh, is this tony fisher?"
"yes, yes it is."
"Ok we'll have those stickers ready for you in a jiffee."
"thanks, bye"
"bye"
“We’ve got someone who wants 57cm stickers each.”
“Haha!”
“How will we transport those?”
SevenPheonix329 rolled up, just like the original material is shipped to sticker makers.
This brings new meaning to "Cube in a cube".
YESSS
That is called a 4 dimension cube a.k.a "Hypercube".
Awesome build! so many hours of dedication, and great planning too.
Sooooo... World's largest Fisher cube?
omg yessss
YA!
I swear to god if anybody tries to peel the stickers off
Perfect illustration of the difficulties of scaling. Making anything ten times larger or smaller completely changes the nature of the process.
Congratulations!
That was a great idea
A giant Megaminx or pyraminx will be awesome
Hello and bye from Mexico
For the pyraminx he would have to go to egypt
Very interesting and creative! I thought you just managed to build a giant core, I didn't expect a giant Rubiks cube inside of a bigger cube lol. Congrats on another successful project!
I'm gonna be honest, I thought you just made 20 giant cubies and a giant core.
same
Is that not necessarily possible or is it too expensive?
Yep.
+Shortninja66 And how do I make them?
Tony Fisher blood sweat and tears
I'm so glad comments are not disabled here. Keep it up like this it's much better. It's really cool to see how you did it.
8:48 This guy has a really unconventional way of counting cans. His kitchen must be amazing.
Tony, you keep amazing me over and over again. Keep up the great work!
same
This video was quite satisfying I actually watch this whole video
You could have used the expanding foam cans instead of pipes lol
That is a lot of cans. U must have looked a bit crazy down at your hardware store
35
When he threw all the cans I laughed. 😂
2:39 "...kind of a little bit big, to be honest." That's hilarious.
Later, in his made his 2 meter cube video, he said that a 1.83 meter cube seemed a bit feeble.
(After 9:05) "... but a solution suddenly occurred to me: Bash it with a hammer!"
Okay, that line should appear at some point in _every_ video you make from now on!
So.. What you're saying is... There's an unsolved cube inside that huge solved cube..
No, it's not an unsolved cube. It's just the core of my giant one. The pieces used comes from various cubes and it wouldn't even be solvable.
this is God's speed cube.
This is just AMAZING!!! Keep uo the good work. I love you your channnel.
I admire your patience, perseverance and problem solving skills! This is awesome!
You never cease to amaze me Mr. Fisher!
+Tony Fisher hey! even though i am not a huge rubik's cube fan i've got to say this video is a marvelous view of the design and inventive process!
I Love how he always spends a lot of time on his designs so everything is perfect. you, again, did a great Job on this!
Wow! Amazing work, Tony. Congratulations!
Why would anyone dislike this lol, don't see the point at all.. Took this guy forever using his own time to build this and to troubleshoot the issues and to get it functional, part of the reason why its the biggest functional cube out there. No idea why a dislike is deserved, hmm? Anyways, great job man :)
I just noticed now, you uploaded this a day before my birthday.
Happy late bday, mate!!
I will break this record, just wait.
God this video deserves so much more attention then it has, this is freaking awesome.
To be honest, this was the first thing I thought of when I saw your giant cube, but I discarded that idea because it seemed too silly and fragile :P
I watched the rest of the video and the way you attached the pipes to the cube with the molds and connector pipes is amazing! I would never have thought of something like that!
Honestly one of the single greatest videos on youtube
People with OCD are freaking out... The 18cm Cube Core isn't solved?!
You sir, have some extreme dedication, which I admire very deeply.
"1.80 meter cube is a little bit big, to be honest."
*3 years later*
"1.83 meters cube seemed a bit feeble..."
"If you were wondering how many cans I did use, it was this many."
BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! Pause, BAM! BAM!
Damn, that's a lot of cans
congratulations on your invention. well done.
it's sad that the cube on the inside and the cube on the outside will never both be solved at the same time
It's not sad at all. It's nothing to do with the puzzle.
I was very excited when I saw GWR upload their video for you. Clicked like before I even watched it.
All I can say is WOW! That is amazing! I am surprised at how well it works!
Just incredible thinking and craftsmanship. Keep up the good work and inspirational video's!
I love your videos so much, they are very interesting and I admire the efforts you invest in creating and inventing new puzzles. But the results are awesome!
Congrats for that cube, it really looks like it is a real one! (plus on video you can hardly dinstinguish the depth of the objects)
You're a genius. Congratulations on your work
a tale that has enthralled us since the birth of mankind itself, passed down through legend and song: the epic love story of one man and his cube.
I would have never guessed you had extended an 18cm cube. Genius.
Very interesting! I was wondering what the core looked like and what materials you used to keep it light enough to operate. Thanks for making this video (:
You are great tony, and the cube Its very impresive
I don't think, that an actual mechanism would have added much more weight, maybe 20% more.

+Over powered Gamer Yes but Guinness already revealed my secret. Plus I don't think you can go any bigger using this method.
+Tony Fisher I am wondering if it would be ok to build one but a little smaller cuz it looks cool and sounds fun to make
this is my new favorite youtube video
Thanks. I enjoyed a lot watching all the process.
Now it's time to use the world record cube inside of an even bigger cube
Yes
Hats off to you sir. That was unbelievable!
Now for the ultimate question,
What is the corner cutting like?
And is this competition legal?
It's impossible to test corner cutting and no it's not competition legal.
Tony Fisher You picked up on the internet sarcasm? Because I just feel like a sweaty speed cuber now. xD
Can you do some dope ass 3 finger tricks with this?
And, just try to tell me that this isn't comp legal. It's blacked out with stickers, I see no issue with it. I expect to see this at the next comp.
#bringittoworlds2018
Rory Etherington, it'll crush the Speedstacks mat and table xD
Very impressive. I think you should make a pedestal which attaches to one of the center pieces so you can move all the faces without lifting the whole thing.
It's far too fragile for that. It would instantly break and even if it was better made the weight is unevenly distributed around the turning faces.
what if you make a larger cube, using the same method but using this as the mechanism
If you had never said a word, I would've had *no idea* you were in the UK lol. (The weather, the architecture, the amount of damp mosses). That's fabulous mate 🇬🇧
the omnipresent police sirens
Such a big effort. Congratulations :)
Congratulations for building this amazing big thing. I'm gonna share this documentary with my friends. You must be tired by now. What will be your next mindblowing project?Who knows? Come come I fall asleep while watching a video but I can't fall asleep without it
good work tony i really admire you
great job tony!!!
you have way more patience than I ever will
That's cool and amazing. It must of taken a very long time.
I knew you had used a factory made 18cm cube for this. Cause I remember a while back shortly after they came out you unboxed about 9 of them.
You're a genius. Truly.
I saw some comment on a review of the 18cm mass produced puzzle like "What if Tony Fisher used this core in his world's largest 3x3 puzzle?" (As opposed to whatever core they thought was used) I don't think anyone realized that the core was actually the 18cm puzzle.
have you ever solved that after scrambling it? make a video on that!
Yes and I have.
You are my kind of madman, sir!
I like how at 8:40 you straight up drop a magazine roll
8:12 favourite part XD
Seriously, though. Nice!
You should have used magnets inside the boxes, on all adjacent faces inside the cube. This would have helped with stability and general form of the cube. Still impressive to say the least. Good job.
Ste Hodge, would've made it hard to turn, overcoming friction (plus extra friction caused by magnets) and the attraction of the magnets.
one way he could make it more functional by turning, is by adding felt to 4 sides on each center piece with will make it slide along the rubber like material used on the cube
just amazing !!!
great job !!!
Also, what if you used the mega rubiks cube you created to be the core of an even bigger puzzle 3x3. That would be a very unstable puzzle, but a cool idea.
excellent quality video and cube!
I knew it!! I was thinking it was this cube when I first saw it because it seemed a bit ridiculous to make the whole thing plastic!
great work! thats so fun.
make another one of that size but make it a fisher cube
Wow,
This is amazing
That's really nice and nice tought
hard work pays off
Absolute Legend.
First video I've seen of you talking on camera, not just your voice. Lol
*Man youre so cool you need more subs and likes*
And i like your voice much
Well done!!!!
the inside cube will always be scrambles
How much did the cube cost? I mean you did it pretty well, looks very neat but made of cardboard, so was it expensive or inexpensive?
Absolutely what I expected.
Me too.
So much work! Great :)
Since the core cube isn't solved, this could be the worlds largest peekaboo cube. Maybe a fisher peekaboo cube?
jeez, you got real patience
At 26:00
Police called by neighbours because they thought tony fisher was a kind of mad scientist
omg ! it's a really really good job !!
omg! the patience and precision you have are astonishing! Great job! It is actually sad that silly dog and cat videos easily get more views. Oh well. Once again cuteness wins over intelligence :(
Nice job!
Nice video i really liked it
This deserves a better title than the worlds biggest cube how about “the god cube”
my lord, how are you so dedicated? I could never do this
