- Let me know your nemesis puzzle in the comments!
In this video I show my top 10 hardest cubes I've tried solving! Some of these I've found my own solutions for, others I used tutorials for, and a few I have never solved!
Here's the camera and sound equipment I'm using: bit.ly/RedKB-Gear

What's your nemesis puzzle?
RedKB the standard rubik's cube with stickers that orientation matter. Its annoying when the center is orientated wrongly. Anyone has algs?
4x4. I got a 4x4 for my birthday about 2/3 years ago. I had it for two months and I just couldnt wrap my head arround it. Even with tutorials I could not do it. So I sold it to someone for like $20. Now I wanna order another one and solve that bitch.
Curvy copter plus
Face turning octahedron
crazy mega minx Saturn
Wouldn't the hardest/impossible cube to solve be the 1x1x1? You have to scramble it before you can solve.
Crying Cashew You were referring to yourself, correct?
FlyTour69 That's actually a very good point
can a 1x1x1 cube be considered a puzzle if it can't be mixed up or scrambled?
FlyTour69
No the 1x1x1x1 because it exists outside this dimension
FlyTour69 it's technically impossible because since there's only one possible permutation, technically the solved state is also the scrambled state so it's always scrambled
*sitting watching videos about Rubik's cubes even though I've never solved one in my entire life*

Ye I can solve all of those
@@ladywendysnookes4750 sure
Wendy Snookes I bet you just peel the stickers off or just reassemble the cube. That doesn’t mean you can solve it if you do that
any other non-cubers watch cubing videos and get absolutely mindfucked by shapeshifting
Meh dude
Im like 3 years late but yea
I have a latch cube and i've solved once. It is really a very difficult puzzle. the most difficult is to build necessary algorithms to solve these puzzles. If you really enjoy difficult puzzles... i recomend you to try the Even Less gears , Eitans Star or any Geranium puzzles :)
WOAH! FIVE YEARS AND NO REPLIES
Please upload more Kenneth, I'm in love with your videos😂

Great video Kenneth! The latch cube was my hardest puzzle ever as well. Spend some time on it but if you end up getting to the point where you want to just put it down again, I have a full detailed tutorial on my channel :)
CrazyBadCuber I had no problem on the latch cube, but that's thanks to your fantastic tutorial...
My original rebux cube was harder than all the cubes
How do you have no check on your channel?
ThisTexas Boyz you idiot
I have problems with a 3x2
Hey hey hey. Im not the only one who forgets algs
i always have a mindblank on PLL
Yeah i forgot some too
I love 4x4 parity
I forgot my algorithm for 13x13x13
groszak1 how many Alfa are there
I was waiting... to see a Dodecahedron Rubik in your collection!
But then, I personally found it was not (quite) as difficult as the 4x4x4.
Somewhere, I will eventually find my long lost Exercise Book, in which I started sketching moves, for each Rubik I've had and solved. The book was begun in 1981, when I was able to do a standard 3x3x3 in 37 seconds
Nah none of those are hard for me...
they are impossible xD
marlon mariano I
marlon mariano they're *
so if it's impossible it's easy? it doesn't make sense...
ecks dee
he is a cuber but just a noob cuber ^-^
Looking forward to your Nemesis series! And I'm so tempted to give a tip to make the Latch Cube reasonably easy, but I won't. ;)
Funny that I have all of the puzzles in your video (except for the Maltese Gears and Tetracopter 12), and none of them are in my top 10 most difficult puzzles. ;) But of course we each have our own challenges and cases where we are completely stumped and flabbergasted. I do agree all of them are pretty difficult though. Then again, the Skewby Copter Plus (hybrid Skewb + Curvy Copter Plus) and Even Less Gears (Gear Cube Extreme with even less regular 3x3x3 turns - and Gear Cube Ultimate stickers) I have are both a step up from two of the puzzles you've mentioned. :D
Anyway, great video as always. Keep up the great work. And good luck with your Nemeses!
Loving this content I'm a new subbed and I am a cuber and MAN you picked the right puzzles for the list!
can you make a video on coming up with your own algorithms? I am completely blown away on how people figure these things out. I understand the friedrich method was used using math? Could you go in depth with this? If you've already made a video for this could you please point me to it?
Same
He has a playlist on cube theory, in it there is a video on commutators (which is basically making your own algs).
Think It's Impossible? K thx
There's 2 basic methods that are pretty doable for coming up with algorithms on a cube that you can't already solve. First, there's the ever popular pqp'q'. Mathologer has a good video that explains it. Basically, do one thing, then do something else that changes a different part of the cube. Make sure the two moves have a small overlap in what they impact. Now do that first move backwards. Then do the second move backwards. Now only that small part of the cube that is impacted by both moves has changef and everything else goes back to the same. A simple example is to do a move, however complicated, that changes the orientation of one piece on the top layer. Your move can change anything except the other pieces on that layer. Then rotate the top layer so the piece whose orientation you changed is swapped with a other piece. Now undo your first move, which will reorient the new piece in that position, then undo that rotation. Now you've reoriented 2 pieces in the top layer and changed nothing else.
The other method is to take advantage of some principals of symmetry about a cube. If you do something simple and repetative, it will, sooner or later, go back to the start. Now there are some symmetries that will tend to return to the start after repeating a multiple of 3 times (like moves that reorient corners or swapping 3 edges around) and others that will tend to repeat after a multiple of 2 times (like reorienting edges or swapping 2 corners around). If you do a simple move repeatedly, you will often notice that at a certain number of iterrations, it has left some things untouched and done other things that may be useful.
I typically use the following method:
Separate the problem into parts that should stay unchanged (solved), and parts that need to change (unsolved). So for example, on Rubik's cube, you can have first 2 rows solved and the 3rd row that is mixed up.
Then find out some (best if simple) operation which mixes the unsolved part, while keeping the solved part the same. Typically, this means to temporarily break the solved part with some moves, then doing anything in the larger unsolved (broken) part, and correcting the solved part back again.
Once you have it, analyze in detail what exactly the operation does to the unsolved part. (Some elementary group theory can help you there, for example Lagrange's theorem about subgroups.) Then, use the operation to solve as much as possible of the unsolved part (by different application of it using symmetries etc.).
Then repeat the process (now that you have the unsolved part smaller) until everything gets resolved.

Wow, I'm really amazed by this video. So many jaw dropping, cool puzzles I hadn't seen before. Nicely done, thank you!
Thanks for the upload! 👾
What's my nemesis puzzle? At the moment it's my 5x5 (All I have is the QiYi Jelly Cube Set so my selection is limited). The algorithms are a pain to execute and will definitely take a while to learn, and if I screw up one of the steps even just a little bit, going through the process of correcting that mistake is just a hellish experience. By extension I guess the 4x4 is also up there, because even though the centers and edges are easier to solve the puzzle has center permutation, which can ruin an entire solve if you're not careful.
Runners up are the Square-1 and the Mastermorphix.
EDIT: Some amount of time later, and I'm now pretty confident that I can solve just about any cubic nxn, and I can also solve the Square 1. So now my nemesis is the Mastermorphix, mainly because of the way is shapeshifts and also the fact that paying attention to the center orientations is SUPER ANNOYING.
Nice concept about the three types of difficulty. I prefer to stick with puzzles where I know how to solve them but there are added levels of difficulty, rather than having to learn tons of algorithms and methods for tons of different puzzles, and then forgetting them and having to relearn them, only to likely forget them again. With that in mind, my most difficult puzzle at the moment is a 4x4x4 Ghost Cube, which I'm able to solve. With that, I've never owned or solved most of the puzzles you mentioned in your video. The only one I own is the Square One, and I actually don't find it all that difficult. The first step is intuitive, and for the rest of the steps I correlate algorithms I use on a regular 3x3x3 cube (with slight differences). The parity is also easily fixed once you know how to do it. I learned the method from Twisty Puzzling, back when his channel was up. As for what my nemesis puzzle would be (as far as puzzles I'd be interested in obtaining and trying to solve), likely the Platinum Cube!
I think that you should upload more often because I love your videos!
Great vid as always
I knew it😂 I knew the latch cube would be Number 1. Cmon Ken. to quote the one and only Rob Schneider "YOU CAN DO IT"
*”YOU CAN DO IT ALLLL NIGHT”*
Hi Kenneth, my order from thecubicle just recently came in, and I got the QiYi Square-1 along with many other cubes. I finally got the Parity alg into my muscle memory last night, square-1 is probably my favorite cube at the moment. :)
i have been watched your videos for YEARS ! But i still love them :)
"My biggest nemesis puzzle"

I own a ghostcube.
I can't solve a normal 3x3.
🤡
This was the first cubing video I have ever watched before I started cubing, it's been 2 years now. Good memories
I been waiting for u to upload a vid because I love ur channel.
I like tedious over clever.
And I'd like to mention there is at least 1 other category: puzzles which are difficult because they are physically difficult to manipulate. They keep getting stuck or falling apart. I'm sure you have a few of those. I personally don't like them, and I don't know anyone who would.
If you want a real challenge cover the puzzle in razor blades

The 1x1 is easily the most complicated cube ever.

This answers the question I asked a few videos back.
Hi, I'm fairly new to this scene. Throughout the video, you talk about coming up with algorithms. Are there any processes or good tips to know other than patience and experimentation?
Number_055 check out my Cube Theory 101 series!
5:15 So SATISFYING
A Nemesis Puzzle series sounds like a fantastic project!
Hey there RedKB did you manage to get your hands on the Clover Octahedron Fragmentation ? If so could you do a video on it

Jian Wang I heard it too
Drink every time he says: “puzzle” then try solving a Rubik’s cube after the video.
Shut up
I just subbed and love your videos
I have solved the Square-1 a lot but my method sucks. It is like you get it into the cube form (mostly guesswork) and then you do the same algorithm with sometimes a single turn thing to get the corners and edges and stuff into the right colors. If you encounter the parity (2 edges swapped usually) you start over.
I think the one that I have not yours it's the magic cube like it has some odd squares but took me to solve it was I think now because I finished the first layer maybe some day I will solve it! By the way I like rubic cubes I like your collection 😊

Please do a nemesis series! I wold love that.
Wow, you've got more cubes than me! I've got and solved that gear one - it then went on my shelf never to be twisted again.
7:23 Good luck with parity lol.
What's the the world record for largest collection?
The Outhouse Studios its in Russia somewhere I believe. You can search the twisty puzzles forum and see all the pictures and everything!
Thx

The best intro video ever lol it makes me to think intro is not necessary even oskar have same sort of intro
Very great!!
8:30 yeah, there was...
My hardest of the 20-ish I own is the Square-1. I've solved it by memorizing the standard way, forgotten. I tried a more intuitive solution had that memorized for a little bit, forgot it. It's just so difficult and unlike other cubes that it's hard to keep a solution memorized without constant practice, and since I don't think it's a fun solve (either way I had memorized) I don't like practice consistently.
I forgot 4x4x4 solution for parities (edge pair parity, OLL parity)
Square one becomes impossible if you try splitting edges with corners to get to the square. But if you think outside the box and put the edges together, then separate the edges once they are all together it. Scones very easy to get to a square.
phones autocorrect turned "becomes" into scones. After getting to a square, enjoy coming up with algorithms.
Install a keyboard that does not deface words
The algorithms is really confusing, it's almost similar to Algebra 2
I like your honesty
I love it!
The regular cube was hard enough!
I can’t even solve a 2 by 2
YOU EXPLAIN IN A LOT OF DETAIL AWESOME
I like how he put all his cubes in the background to show us he knows what he's talking about
Do you know how to solve the skewb ultimate? I've been stuck on it for a while and haven't been able to find good guides on youtube.
I was able to get repetitions to work and can solve it that way. I have been unable to use logic of “whatever moves do something, rotate a face and reverse those moves”.
the Sudoku cube
is easy?
I don't know what solved state is supposed to look like on that one
Y F-N only one of each number on each side.
I’m very good at sudoku so that’s easy
I have collected a few but I am not a cuber at all so I was really happy to just get the Square-1 back in the cube shape.
Saludos desde Costa Rica, te felicito, muy buenos Puzzles...
0:53 More harder....
the moment cubes stop being cubes
thanks for insanity algs. solve latch cube with white cross having 2 yellow edges. use intuitiin and finally rotate blue and green faces into place at end. Also bagua cube is best cube, so many pieces and steps in a small well turning puzzle.
Killed my data, well made video!!
I'll finish video later lol I'm so pumped to get new "cubes".
Can you make more lets race
i agree!
Nano24 you agree to a question?
I think he agreed to making more let’s race I think
Me (as someone who owns a cube for 1 week): EVERYONE
@RedKB I have a couple
Curvy Copter - I tried looking up a tutorial but it was kinda difficult to understand and I still have never solved it to this day
Square-1 - When I unboxed my Square-1, it came with a small paper of algorithms (as most QiYi puzzles do), so I was able to solve it while being provided with algorithms, but I lost the paper and since then it has been scrambled
Master Pyraminx - This one isn't so hard as it is tedious, but there is an algorithm that I don't remember that permutates the last 4 centers after you reduced it to a pyraminx and solved it like one
Rubik's Impossible - Never solved this, I always attempt to, but the shade-shifting tiles always confuse me
awesome video!

square-1 kinda fun to solve..
My hardest puzzle is a 4 layer square-4 kinda puzzle which has no solution, check it out in my collection video. Once I was so close to solving it when my aunt scrambled it again.
Another difficult puzzle for me is the master pyramorphix. Our whole family was trying to solve that, even when my mom found a tutorial in spanish she was unable to solve it. A week later I solved it and got a megaminx as a prize for solving it.
Coolest cube in my opinion is Puppet cube and Mirror cube. Their names are pretty cool too

The 1x1 is i think the hardest puzzle
Skyzer Productions Yea there are way too many algorithms and notations I have never seen before
Skyzer Productions Yeah
The Į Permutation is the hardest
No 1x1 is really hard but 0x0 is the hardest
One of my teachers has a bunch of rubicks cubes and he has a 2x1
YES! Talk about mental block and tedium. I've been collecting and solving cubes for nearly 10 years and solved them all multiple times. I've had the Latch Cube for about half that time and have NEVER solved it. Every time I start, I get pissed off and just put it down only to try again months later. Rinse and repeat and 5 years later it still sits in my drawer, unsolved haha!
i want the nemesis series!
isnt it funny we all have a little voice in our head......like the one you read this with

I have a different little voice for each font. Arial is my mom's voice for example.

Please try and upload more regularly Kenneth!
By the way, do you even engrish bro?
You should make a video to solve all your rubic cubes :)
1x1 rubix is the hardest one to solve
Erik Salazar lol
TheLegend 212 yeah he knows it’s supposed to be funny
Square one is easy and super fun
Jas Cube EN wattt wait I have a regular 3 x 3 cube only I think it'd yulan (idk how u type it) it's white and idk why utubers hate white cubes but like my only cube is the 3 x 3 and I seen on the net the square 1 is one of the most ANNOYING CUBES to solve redkb didn't solve it yet(idk if it's him or another utuber ) but he didn't solve the square 1 it's too annoying and a bad square 1 results into destruction of it
Jack for fun it's just because you don't know how to solvit and the hardware is so good
#QiyiSquare14Lyf even though my core is stripped :(
ErikCR what do you mean??
Of course the square-1 is easy to solve if you already know how to solve it. The reason it's hard is because it's very difficult to figure out how to solve in the first place. Probably my favorite cube I own, but the furthest I've gotten was like four pieces away from solved.
You should do a series were you try to figure out how to solve hard puzzles, actually showing us how you came up with a solution
Maybe u can solve the multies gear cube as a 2 by2 first and then solve the internal gears
What about the 1x1
It’s the hardest puzzle to solve
hi first
nope 2
You have to tell me where you got your gear cube. I have some and they turn as well as yours ! By the way it's a very easy one, you can solve it with just 2 algo, and even with no algo, when you have a little logical it's duable.
Nice collection though, keep on :)
Please ?
The Latch Cube is easier than you might think. There is a simple trick that is the key to the whole solve. The main difficulty is figuring out what that trick is.
