I was introduced to line and wash through a book I found in the library by Claudia Nice. She draws with technical pens of a dozen colors not just black and that's when I fell in love with line and wash. I've sense then bought 2 of her books. I love live tutorials so I watch Peter's work, which I also love so much.
I am a 71 year old grandma loving the learning process with watercolor. Currently I am on bed rest following back surgery two days ago. Your artistry and lessons teach, inspire, challenge and encourage me. I can't wait until I am able to be up again so I can try painting along with you. Thank you so much!

I've been wanting a Sheeler original for 2 years and now I have one ! It was fun to put it side by side with my version and compare them to see the differences. Just as I expected I'm heavy handed with the paint. Now I've learned to tone it down and it really makes a difference. Fourth: To anyone who reads this. Make sure you head on over to Ebay when Peter post his works. You too can own a signed, one of a kind original by Peter Sheeler.

You make it look so easy and simple but there’s clearly huge amounts of experience and talent just to draw the shapes and proportions of the bee and the flower. I struggle the most with these basic details which I feel need years of practise and a good technical foundation. Love this @peter.
You make it look simple, but such fluency with pen must be accomplished with a lot of hard work. There's no basic shapes, or going from simplicity to complexity. You just draw the structure and details together, very impressive. I'd be interested in a video discussing how you trained yourself. Thanks!
Hi Peter. Thanks, again for a wonderful little painting. I follow other painters and even when they say their stuff is easy, it never turns out well. But when I follow yours, they always turn out wonderfully ( never like yours, of course), but I feel proud of my work. You are a wonderful teacher!

I am a complete novice, and after watching countless hours of your amazing videos I am going to attempt putting pen to paper. Can I ask you if you did this study on wetted paper. Many thanks. Another great video by the the way.
I love your work and I've tried many times to mimic one particular element of your style and have failed - how do you get the border line top/left/right to have breaks/detours/spikey bits without looking forced? I've really struggled as if I kick back and go very natural it goes way off course. Could you do a video on methods for drawing line types that are useful for line and wash work?
I don't think a lot about my lines. I just let them happen. I don't think you should try to reproduce my lines exactly. that will destroy your flow with the pen.

Thanks you. Ideas come from my imagination/memory, my own photos or by painting on location. I mostly just make things up. This one was from photos and memory.
Fantastic! Thank you so much. I will attempt to paint this for my daughter who has just started bee keeping. I tend to think that my paintings have to be a reproduction of exactly what I see, like a photo or they aren't "right". Any suggestions on how to overcome this?
Sketching and deciding what to include/exclude is difficult to explain. It's just something that happens now. I was a high detail/realistic painter. When I first started urbansketching I soon decided to give myself just 15 minutes to capture a scene. This forced me to be more selective of detail. Doing quick thumbnail sketches, a lot of them, is good practice.
I'm new ti w/c si U'm enjoying your videos and how w/ so little for paint colors, you can bring things such as this to life! I don't think I'll have much problem coping your drawing of the thistle but the but I'll do my best w/ the bee lol! Do you ever do roses or some type of floral design or are they more straight forward?
