I have have not drawn or painted since I was at school - almost 40 years ago. I have been looking to take up a new hobby and came across your channel a few weeks ago. I ordered the Meedon starter kit and decided to give watercolour a go. Starting the day it arrived, I've painted something everyday and every day I get more confident. I absolutely love watching your videos and how you encourage everyone and anyone to give it a go. This chap is enjoying you and your painting. Your bee is much different than the one that has taken up residence in my garden. They have a black belly. No lie. So I paint mine as I see it.
I think mine are a composite of bee-ness, nothing like the real thing!

Diane, my friend: BREATHE! This is one of my most favorite paintings of yours to date; the really quick-dash (not slap dash!) of applying color and fine liner is absolutely perfect!
I like that “quick-dash“ idea. I know that these days I do paint fast when I paint. The more I hesitate the wronger it is likely to go!

Okay, I had to watch this twice! First, I was so completely consumed with your interesting comments through-out! I have found a person I can point to when others say to me, "You are so weird...you think about the weirdest things at the most random times! Songs! Songs that pop into your head. What will be offered for dinner tonight? Bees! Your whole entire yard is designed for bees! Why are you worried about the Royal kids?" So, now I have an actual video to prove that I am in good company with Diane! Then, I watched it for the lovely bees! I love bees. (re: above comment about my garden) It will be so fun to paint these lovely little guys! Just such a great video all around. I wish I could help you with what Prince William and Prince? Absolutely love your channel! It's been many years since I dabbled in watercolor (my favorite art medium). Your step-by-step instruction is so easy to follow and your calm encouraging manner is very pleasant. Sometimes I tune into your channel just to hear your soothing voice and lovely background music... and the occasional dog, cat, sheep and birds.

This is just Lovely, Diane. Your bees are really Good! They are somewhere between realistic and Full flavoured stylised and i Love them! The whole painting is Bee-utiful. I'm definitely going to give this a go but your line work is far superior to mine so i may let myself down on that!
