In ds3 i used the 3 only wind weapons, the tailbone spear and tailbone dagger, and the storm curved sword. The first one was light but did massive damage and knocked enemies on their asses using her weapon and all 4 of the force miracles. 58:34 the fact that they named those guys after the amygdala is actually really fuckin cool. The amygdala is your center for the fear response - more specifically it handles the fight or flight response. This part of the brain is often more active in people experiencing fear (even for funsies), anxiety, or very real danger. Its also not visible on your brain without *literally cutting it in half.* so naming those enemies after the amygdala is really quite fitting! A source of intense fear - the need to stay and fight for your life or run and escape - that is always present, always waiting, and never visible.... *until it's far too late.* ....man I love Bloodborne
One thing to mention as well, oddly enough, the amygdala is positioned exactly where the “third-eye” is positioned in cultures that have that. In a round-about way making it “eyes on the inside of our brain”

I'm so happy that Jack has finally gotten around to making this series, and hopefully it introduces a whole new audience to the incredible game that is Bloodborne, however I am legitimately concerned that he has made it look TOO EASY. This is not an easy game at all, some of you newbies are in for a shock if you decide to play it now.
@@scoobymountindoo9644 Bloodborne is objectively very difficult. It requires quite a lot of time investment to acquire the kind of skill Jack shows in these videos. Many people quit playing Bloodborne at the first or second (required) boss because the demand on the player is just that great. Hell, *_I_* quit playing for a little bit after dying like 30 times to BSB on my first playthrough, and that's a relatively easy boss.
For those who don’t know, the person jack killed about 8 minutes into the video actually does NOT kill Arianna by default; only if you take blood from arianna three times while the other lady is in cathedral ward
@@ckfriends3252 if you ever get a chance, play it its such a good game, it's challenging but rewarding at the same time and tbh I didn't even find the game that hard tbh, bosses were more enjoyable than hard...(ludwig and orphan is an exception tho,fun fights but really challenging).
@@Based1889 Still, i've found those two bosses (the only ones that took me over 3 attempts (way too many more than 3)) the most enjoyable. Very epic game and bosses
If I recall correctly Rom is not a true great one, she was a byrgenwerth scholar who discovered the great one Kos, and through communion with Kos, she attained enough insight to become a kin of a great one and metamorphose. And then the college of byrgenwerth trapped and sealed her using the moon and lake runes. They did so to seal away the knowledge of the great ones from normal people. Also the One reborn was never alive, it merely existed as a result of the arcane energy that was being funneled to it by the bell maidens. Which is why when you kill the maidens, the one reborn stops regenerating. It was basically created as a result of a forbidden ritual being performed by the college of Mensis (a breakaway from the school of insight), they were cages on their head because they believe it shields their minds from the great one's truth. The college of Mensis basically sacrificed the entirety of Yahar'gul to make the One reborn because they were convinced they could make a great one.
@@nataliegray8019 Yeah, the lore in bloodborne is very complex/in depth. there are some very good lore-throughs on this game where they go more in depth into the lore and how it all works.
Didn't normal people know about the great ones? Like they obviously know about Oeden at least. And I think they should have also known about the tomb of the gods (chalice dungeons)
@@maudelhoyo4019 In lore the normal people of yharnham don't know about the great ones or the kin. They know of the beasts and the beasts curse but their understanding is based solely off what the blood ministry teaches them. And the blood ministry tells them to take saint's blood to prevent the beasts. However everyone is progressively becoming more and more crazy because they are living in close proximity to great ones. Oedon chapel is safe and the NPCs there recognize it and assume it's due to the incense but it may also be safe because the great one Oedon is a benevolent almost unusually people loving great one and he protects the influence of the kin on those who live in Oedon chapel. That being said he also does things with Ariana which are not so nice.
Hypogeal means “subterranean or underground” so basically Hypogean Gaol is “underground jail”, also another fun fact, the “Make Contact” gesture is more than just a goofy emote. It’s been suggested that whenever humanity makes contact with extraterrestrial life, that we should draw or make a right angled gesture to prove we know mathematics, which in turn signals our intelligence. That’s why the Brain of Mensis gifts us the moon rune. We conversed with a Great One, in the only way we knew how.
“I’m doing this playlist for me” THATS EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT JACK!!! We need ya happy n having fun. We’ll be here for whatever you got to toss out for us.
I mean this is how it is with the souls games, once you've played them a few times you get good at dealing with bosses but the regular enemy groups are a lot less predictable.
Adella only kills Arianna if you take blood from her 3 times. As someone who doesn't really use items, it's fairly easy to keep NPC's alive. Also fun fact, the kinda jerk guy that lives across from Arianna isn't exactly a huge jerk. He just speaks in opposites. This is why he goes to the opposite sanctuary you tell him
During my first playthrough I absoLUTELY fucked up the NPC quest lines. I wasn't talking to every door so I was wondering how I was going to bring people to the chapel but didn't have anybody, except for the old lady from Central Yharnam... but then I traveled the forbidden forest and met the old beggar, and since he ✨️asked✨️ I told him to go to the chapel, I told my friend I finally saved somebody and they were like NO NOT H I M YOU MORON

Ebrietas hits like a fucking truck with huge hitboxes, and he's barely touched his vitality (on screen anyway). But she's also pretty slow, so with enough vitality to weather a few hits, she goes from one of the hardest bosses to one of the easier ones
Definitely interested to see the DLC as well, as someone who's always had an interest in the world/story of Bloodborne but knows they wouldn't enjoy the gameplay, this series is perfect for me
Try Vaatividya for real deep-dive world lore stuff, those are amazing videos. Aegon of Astora also has a great lore-focused playthrough which I watched during my first one, those are longer - it's almost podcast like, and super chill. Evelyn (Gab Smolders) also has a great series on this game.
As someone who has also played this game too many times, you’re definitely making it look easy, I can imagine people just now seeing this game going to play it with this play through in mind getting absolutely REKT by the first areas of the game
I'm more surprised by the fact Jack actually uses the items while fighting bosses. I've seen a couple of people that just run in head first and keep dying. It makes it seem so much easier with the right items
I love how the one boss that apparently gave him trouble is also the boss that has an adjective that literally means " incredibly stupid. " Rom the Incredibly Stupid Spider.
Guys please try to be nice to each other, playful banter is one thing but there’s no reason to spread any amount of negativity in the world even though it’s very easy to. Being nice just feels better for everyone :)
So, some lore on Rom, the Vacuous Spider. The location where you kill Willem is called Byrgenwerth College, and is indeed part of the school of mensis. Rom was an ascended scholar of Byrgenwerth who went through metamorphosis to turn into a Kin (Blue jelly dudes that we'll definitely see later on cause the large Kin is an optional boss), and eventually a deformed spider. The biggest thing to note about Rom is that she has eyes all over her body. The people with cages on their heads were from the school of mensis. They believed that the cage would protect their minds from the sight of the eldritch horrors... it did not.

You wake up in nightmare dream real life what the fuck ever idk at this point. Your goal is to find the blood of a pale blood or sum shit like that, people are going crazy because the church has been doing blood infusions from “the great ones” that are basically giant werewolves in the chalices and turn people into beasts. Later in the game eldritch type creatures begin showing up due to Bloodborne being tied to arcane magic and astrology through scholars attempting to achieve maximum insight. The source of all this shit descends from the moon and replaces gehrman with you, or you kill it and take the moon monsters place. That’s the shortest and simplest explanation I could come up with
I am honestly counting the minutes between episodes I haven’t been this dedicated to a let’s play in a long time, I can tell you’re passionate and it is so fun to watch.
you should try playing it again, it is REALLY hard to get into, I died in the same spot for about 2 hours, which now only takes me 5-10 minutes to get up to now, I did get pissed off and I swore off playing the game ever again, but I came back to it later in the day and started playing MUCH better, I ended up doing 3 playthroughs and getting the platinum trophy and it very quickly became one of my favourite games
I felt the same way, I bought the game on release and never got passed central yarnham. Didn't touch it again until 2019 and and Beat the shit out of it to NG+2
If you'd like to see him do the DLC (which I'd love to see as well), he'll have to do it before fighting the final boss(es). Unlike Dark Souls, you immediately go into NG+ upon beating the main game. The DLC is also locked until you beat Vicar Amelia, so even if he did go back to it, he'd just replay content to give us a look at it.

That was sick, watching you fight all these bosses like they’re nothing is crazy! Please play the DLC!! I’ve never seen it before and I would love to see you play it!!
I think one of the really interesting things about Soulsekiroborne games is seeing how different everyone's experiences are with the same boss. It's interesting how some bosses just kind of click with you and others very do not. I first tried Orphan on my first playthrough which shocked the crap out of me. I 2nd tried him on NG+ so I don't think it was just a fluke. Laurence on the other hand took me like 3 days of trying off an on to finally beat him. Then I swore never again. My first time with Gherman I actually ran out of blood vials and had to go farm them and echos to buy them.
Always love how Byrgenwerth is the transition into the cosmic horror side (though you can find that ONE mob in Yharnam.). It’s like ‘ok, ok, fly men, that’s still gothic horror, right?’ and by the end of it you’re channeling Master Willem going ‘our eyes are open.’ Also, knowing Jack is a Junji Ito fan is amazing
The "Fuck you, Gehrman!" gets me every time! Loving this series so far! It makes me want to reply Bloodborne. Thanks for sharing this playthrough Jack!
Don’t get why he keeps saying it. When in the end Gerhman am when he fights you is clearly trying to save you by having you return to the land of waking.
This is what TH-cam creators ought to do regularly if you ask me, I get there's more demand for popular games and more money to be made elsewhere but, It's awesome to see someone play and upload something they truly love, It's more genuine and enjoyable to watch.
I really wish YT creators would upload more of what they love instead of only or more of what's trending. This let's play has been so much fun to watch not because it's a really really interesting game, but also because Sean genuinely enjoys and loves it.
I agree, If people only watched for the games specifically, they'd just watch non-commentary playthroughs. Most of us are here for Sean and seeing the joy in any creators play/content is perfect.
Well, as the man told me to do; "Awesome, Jack.. Really good" No but for real, I was considering getting and playing Bloodborne in recent past (for.. kind of silly aesthetic reasons that don't relate much to the game at all) but have been putting it off because I don't often play those types of games. (and also I currently have no extra spending money but I'm workin on it lol) But (despite it being a year old at this point) this playthrough has gotten me way more interested in playing for myself than I would've if I just bought it and let it sit in my backlog for ages. I mean, not only does the game have really cool eldritch/cosmic horror elements to it (which i LOVE), but seeing people get passionate about things they love is always so nice to see and usually leads me to feel a bit of that passion myself. If you ever see this Jack, know that I heavily appreciate you playing this on your channel and am excited to watch the rest of your playthrough! Definitely gonna get this game as soon as I can. Its also not visible on your brain without *literally cutting it in half.* so naming those enemies after the amygdala is really quite fitting! A source of intense fear - the need to stay and fight for your life or run and escape - that is always present, always waiting, and never visible.... *until it's far too late.*

@@scoobymountindoo9644 it can be to those who don't know what a soulsborne game is. Difficulty is subjective.
@@scoobymountindoo9644 Bloodborne is objectively very difficult. It requires quite a lot of time investment to acquire the kind of skill Jack shows in these videos. @@Based1889 Still, i've found those two bosses (the only ones that took me over 3 attempts (way too many more than 3)) the most enjoyable. Since they're the hardest, they the ones i had to study the most and perfect the dodging and parrying until it became like a dance, which i couldn't do with easier bosses that you jusg hug their behind. Very epic game and bosses
@@jacobobobo4404 true, the most fun to learn bosses are those two and almost all the bosses from sekiro.
I didn't get any of that...but thanks for trying to explain anyway. 😅 No idea what's happening in this playthrough, but I'm still having a blast! ✌💚

Judge: So why did you kill him?
Jack: Ok, so basically I killed him, because once I go back-
kept laughing at him saying this cause i believed he said this in the Elden Ring playthrough too
Hypogeal means “subterranean or underground” so basically Hypogean Gaol is “underground jail”, also another fun fact, the “Make Contact” gesture is more than just a goofy emote.

Don’t get why he keeps saying it. When in the end Gerhman am when he fights you is clearly trying to save you by having you return to the land of waking.
Same. Every single time.
@@greytakerrev7147 He's probably just messing around rather than actually hating Gehrman
@@greytakerrev7147 Jack stated in the first video he has a thorough understanding of the lore, so I’m assuming he’s just pulling a run-on joke.
I've never seen Jack so happy playing a game. It makes me happy as well. Especially since it's my favourite game of all time too.
Well, as the man told me to do; "Awesome, Jack.. Really good"
No but for real, I was considering getting and playing Bloodborne in recent past (for.. kind of silly aesthetic reasons that don't relate much to the game at all) but have been putting it off because I don't often play those types of games. (and also I currently have no extra spending money but I'm workin on it lol)
But (despite it being a year old at this point) this playthrough has gotten me way more interested in playing for myself than I would've if I just bought it and let it sit in my backlog for ages.
And to anyone else who's found this comment, hi! Thank you for reading this far as well, I know it's a bit much for a youtube comment but either way I hope you're enjoying watching/rewatching the playthrough as much as I am!
Take care, have a good one ^o^
Jack, we want to see as much as this game can offer, trust me
DLC included surely
Don't call me Shirley.
