I always the cook the Salaya like this it's like grilled. It's quite a common way of making. Can do without oil too on slow fire. Using the oven or grill is also a good method.

Sardines is the best fish in the world....it got 0more omega 3 than any other fish. it's a hearty fish. Good for your heart and to your good healthy life.. When you cooking this fish...end of the cooking you would see oily layer top of the pot. That's the good oil, omega 3 oil. So keep on eating it.👌👌👌👍👍

Anoma I think you can do this in electric or gas oven too. Lay the marinated sardines on a flat tray bake it over one hour or so on very low temprature...try it.
