The black guy looks a lot cooler without glasses ! I am actually having smile lasik in 7 days time wish me luck 🍀 I have been wearing glasses a long time I am 43 from London 🇬🇧 and I can’t wait to lose these specs 👓
I’m about 2 weeks after SMILE after about 20 years with -10 vision, this is so life changing and still feels crazy. I be trying to “adjust my glasses” or “take out my glasses” by muscle memory lmao. So far I have noticed my eyes get tired pretty often, usually by night, and ofc dry eyes, but I’m hopeful it will gradually get better since that has been the case ever since the surgery.
I had lasik done 5 months ago and if there’s one thing I can recommend for someone about to get it done or just had it done is order a manta sleep mask! It beats wearing sunglasses to bed or those horrible eye shields. I bought the pros which are designed for side sleepers and it was worth it!
@@HDBnB1 I live in Finland where in the summer the sun never goes down so they help greatly with blacking out the sun. They’re a bit pricey but well worth it
@@HDBnB1 I stressed whole night about it and couldnt really sleep. After I got there I kinda relaxed and were more excited than anything. Operation went super well and didnt feel a thing, it really was quite fast like 10-15 min total. Now its been 5 hours since operation and vision is getting better all the time. Little shady/blurry still but lets wait few more days to see what happens to that :D super happy about this overall!
Thanks for these videos. The chance of starburst honestly doesn't bother me too much because I already have glare issues with both glasses and contracts during night driving as it is. Night driving is more of a "pain" than day driving with lights always glaring but seeing as I have been wearing glasses all my life, you just get used to it and you learn to focus more while night driving to avoid an accident. I'm totally fine with not having crystal clear night vision in exchange for no more myopia......because I already have the glare around lights.
@7:37 Lifetime warranty question. Is it possible to do touch ups with the Relex Smile procedure or does one have to fall back to LASIK or PRK? Could a touch up effecting a small amount of correction be handled totally instromally, that is, use the femtosecond laser to ablate the tissue such that a lenticule would not be created and manually removed with surgical forceps?
That is an interesting question. As far as I know, the warranty would include anything major where your vision isn’t perfect or operating as it should be. In my case, I’ve honestly had no issues. My friend has noticed starbursts at night but it isn’t a big deal to him. When he asked our surgeon they were more than happy to set up a checkup to see if anything was wrong. Best advice is to ask any and all questions you have to the surgeon you plan to go to
@@HDBnB1 Glad you are a happy camper! I think the starbursts and such are usually optical zone and pupil size dependent. And responding to some of the naysaying by others, people forget that wearing contact lenses can cause complications. If you go for another follow up, you might ask if a "totally intrastromal femtosecond laser PRK correction or touchup" is a possibility or on the horizon?
I just had it a week ago. My distance vision is 20/20...wonderful. But my close vision is horrible. I can't see my cell phone, watch, calendar on the wall, controls in my car...all a blur. They said it's part of the healing process & should get better with time as I heal...I hope so....would hate for this to be the way it is forever.
hello! have anyone of you guys undergo the SMILE procedure and the eyes were undercorrected ? I was told I should expect to see 6/6 in both eye. :\3
@@HDBnB1 I did and he said that it should get better in the coming months but it most probably will not gain full vision as the margin is super big! looking for someone who had experienced undercorrection cuz I wanna understand why it happened, is it a calculation mistake from the doctor ? is it a known plausible result and the doctor opted not to keep me informed ?

Hey just did smile surgery last Monday. It’s currently Thursday. It hasn’t been a full week yet and I feel like I don’t have 20/20 vision yet. How long did it take you guys to get perfect vision results?
For me personally, I could see right after the surgery. But I would say sometime after a week, it was perfect. It's been about 7 months now and I have no complaints
I got mine two days ago and my right eye was perfect within a few hours after the surgery, my left eye is definitely still not where it needs to be. Of course it's only been 2 days for me but I was honestly a bit disappointed because the clinic heavily advertised with "near perfect vision in 24 hours". How is yours now??
So you had it pretty recently. I would reach out to your surgeon to see how the recovery is going. But it’s pretty normal for people to have different recovery experiences
Hello, I have a question. I am planning on getting a SMILE procedure done however my major concern is that it is not yet FDA approved and moreover there still is no guarantee that post-surgery you will get back your 20/20 vision. Can you please elaborate on that? I would really appreciate it.
@@andreiandrei8647 left eye is still getting better. My doc told that it may or may not get better, because one eye is dominant just like how our right hand is strong than left one.
