    seeing him dribble up the court and take it straight to the rack against the blazers was a beautiful thing. he’s a fun player to watch .. more skill than i expected from his tape at memphis ps you were right about ivey and cade. they’re a nice backcourt together

    As a lifelong, diehard pistons fan. I was upset with the return we got for bogi and Burks, I really wanted our 1st back from the Knicks. But after the Portland game I am happy Weaver got rid of them, as it forces monty to play the young guys! Ivy has been killing it lately to!!! Thanks for the pistons love man!! DEEEETROIT BASKETBALL!!!

      I almost think that was the plan. Im assured by record to think coach and gm are NOT on same page.
      I really think Monty should be fired for that alone. You stunted the growth of a lottery pick for KILLIAN HAYES???

    That take Duren had driving from the top of the key crapping on Portland so sick!

    The only major concern I have with duren is on defensive end. I would say he has not shown growth on that end

      Defensively he's better on the perimeter; I still believe that he will be the 5 we have been waiting for. If he becomes an elite rim protector and he keeps developing his handles and his jumpshot; he's a HOF'er

    Improving his free throw percentage, last two games he's 15/16

    He really reminds me of the high end flashes of Andre Drummond we occasionally get with the rebounding and the passing and I'd hope the defensive playmaking catches up

  • @vikings-pistons
    @vikings-pistons 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Idk how you didn't touch on his improving handle. He's been taking the ball across halfcourt and driving from outside the 3pt line to the basket pretty regularly. That's the key to his upside imo

    Duren should be similar to Bam offensively in time. A decent hub, decent post up player, decent mid-range shooter. A very nice #3 on a good team who can stretch to a #2

  • @Anthony01538
    @Anthony01538 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If he can develop the middy and passing more, I could see him filling a Bam role but with elite rebounding

    It's a 2026 nba finals, duren vs chet. Duren gets a tearing-a-new-one offensive rebound against him, put-backs it in for the game 7 win!

    Every play shouls be run through Duren. The Pistons should feature him and use him like what Jokic and Embiid are doing on their teams. If they can trade Cade and get more useful 3 and D players they should definitely pursue it on the off season.

    • @michaelahurt
      @michaelahurt 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
      I love Jalen Duren but he’s not in same galaxy as Embiid and Jokic offensively. That would be an absolute disaster.
      Also the reason why he works as a hub is because of Cade and Ivey. That’s like saying Denver should trade Murray or Philly should trade Maxey. Why? So you can have Harrison Barnes and Keegan Murray running off those handoffs? There’s a reason it’s always guys like Murray, Maxey, Herro, Huerter, etc. in those actions. A knock down mid-range guy like Cade is an *ideal* partner for Duren.
      Besides that, Duren is one of the 3-5 best rollers in the entire NBA. Running an offense where he’s 20 feet away from the hoop is like saying Ja Morant or Westbrook should run off screens like Steph Curry and shoot more threes.
      You want Duren around the rim where he’s an easy lob outlet and get offensive rebounds. He also has a ton of gravity down there because opposing bigs know he’s dunking if they come off his body which makes it easier for the guards to finish. You can still activate his passing on the short roll, especially as Cade learns to make the pocket pass as soon as he feels two defenders. And 15-20% of his offense *should* be as a hub to mix things up, but you can’t build an offense around him. Certainly not at age 20.
