I've instilled this press with my 6th grade team and they love it , speeds the pace of the game up and creates scoring opps for all involved

The press is meant to take advantage of a player's lack of poise. You can see those ballhandlers panic even before they get the ball.

Wow! How well do you think an agressive press defense like this would fare in the NBA?

+Pedro Vizela not very good at all. The higher the skill of the players, the more they make you pay for any little mistake. Every guard in the NBA would be able to handle pressure.

I agree that it wouldn't work in the NBA very often, but not b/c of the skill level. I think pressure can bother anybody... even the most skilled. I think it would not work b/c I don't think you can get NBA Players to play that hard 82+ games per year. NBA teams coast mostly defensively until big games or Playoffs. That style of play has to have players going 100% on the ball, help and rotations etc. Not saying that you will cause way more turnovers, but you can get some teams from being able to run their sets and from getting the ball to their best players as much as they want. I think in the NBA it COULD be even more successful b/c of the shorter shot clock and the 8 second count.

pretty sick press loved it. guard at nba level would generally just lol and drive by. paul, curry, parker, wall, conley would just stroll by easi pici

+cyclotane ya, NBA guards would just find the open 3 man and just kill it after the trap. Can you imagine Steph getting trapped and passing to Draymond who takes off with it? They would score every time! haha. But it is great for high school and college. High school this press, when taught and executed correctly, can lead to so many wins.

lol i got shit on in high school by full court press. i actually think is bad manner to full court press at hs. if i were a couch and my oponent did that, i would have some nasty words with the coach.

You think this would work against teams like Kentucky or Duke or UNC?

+Curtis Brown I would be surprised to see it work all the time, or even most of the time. But still, it gives teams like Ohio State fits, and is something that coach has to prepare for in practice meaning less time for other things. But I don't see why it wouldn't give them some issues.
