    Al Mohler is the President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lousiville, KY. When he became the President in 1993, the faculty and student body were largely liberal (to varying degrees). Here is a question and answer session between students and Dr. Mohler shortly after his election. It’s worthy of your time and attention. Dr. Mohler answers questions from students dealing with the Abstract of Principles, his lack of age and experience, vision for the seminary, women in ministry, personhood of women, homosexuality, etc.

      The SCRIPTURES are in plain language on the CRITERION of Eldership in a congregation. These are mostly incompetent individuals, led by emotion, which they tout as a qualification for truth and give NOT ONE PASSAGE IN GOD'S BREATHED WORDS to support their feelings. SEMINARIES are a major reason for the false teachers becoming pastors in mostly ignorant congregations, which are seldom able to interview anyone wanting to become their PASTOR as the teaching in the average church is so shallow, also, see 2 TIMOTHY 4:3 . MANY men that are CALVINISTS like Al do not even convey to congregations that they are CALVINISTS, unless it is a church known for Calvinism. The congregations should be alarmed today, as they should've been in the 90s, that he is a CALVINIST. His beliefs teach that one is REGENERATED before even believing. Scripture instantiates the FACT that one RECEIVES THE HOLY SPIRIT after BELIEVING, see Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 3:2; Acts chapter 10 for a few examples. This is a single aspect of the clearly false teaching concerning SALVATION and Calvinists do not believe one that is unsaved can even HEAR the GOSPEL and respond to it without first being regenerated or born again when Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing the message about Christ Jesus. The above SCRIPTURES, to reiterate, prove that one must believe FIRST. He is not qualified to be an ELDER because of these and the rest of the CALVINISTIC teachings THEIR DEFINITION OF SOVEREIGN- GOD cannot be sovereign if mankind has the ability to choose to follow after His will or run contrary to it; Miticulous Determinism- GOD determines every thought, word, and action one will think, say, or do. SECRET WILL- God determining everything miticulously is responsible for every single sin committed and they created a SECRET WILL of God to take God out from the responsibility of sin; TULIP, their 5 points that are justified and NECESSARY for the first 3 mentioned; FALSE GRACE- to answer the problem of TOTAL DEPRAVITY, and PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS, because people can claim to be saved and be sinful and False Grace was created to explain people being able to pretend to be saved, being dead spiritually like a physically dead man and cannot even hear the gospel without already being regenerated as already stated. CALVINISTS state that rightly what scripture instantiates about salvation-" saved by grace through faith ", but how it is possible is plainly unbiblical.

    Wow. Dr. Mohler shines like a light sent by God, dispelling the darkness. I was shocked to listen to some of those objections, absolutely baseless in scripture, and refutable by simple exegesis of scripture by a Sunday school student. Sadly, liberal tactics and rhetoric hasn't advanced one bit, but God is still in control, and it shows here with Dr. Mohler leadership, transparency, and consistency with scripture.

    It certainly seems as if many of the students were elevating their 'experience' and 'feelings' above the authority of scripture. I wonder how many may look back at this video and cringe at themselves and the position they took. I know God has changed a LOT of my initial positions early on in my walk with Him, in His mercy; I'm sure some of these would have experienced that mercy, too. I pray so.

    • @Kikuye
      @Kikuye 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is definitely making me cringe. I wonder where they are now. And/or if their minds changed and I wonder how it is perhaps Dr. Mohler went around changing things to how they are now...or maybe not now...well, I don't know enough about SBC or Southern but my university states to hold to SBC values and I feel like I've run into some issues with them in that in their classes there may be some intersectionality and gender theory taught; when I questioned them about it, they said they do not affirm it...but they teach it because it is the current "research" ...so...

    I was at SWBTS during a controversial change in administration. I didn’t like what was happening, but there is still respect for the office. I cannot imagine speaking to administration the way these students spoke. Many of them wanting to be pastors would not want this lack of respect in their respective positions.

    • @ballasog
      @ballasog 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They would want to earn respect. Mohler is respected by people whose theology is based on white supremacy and looking up young women's skirts. I used to think the looking up skirts was mainly figurative, manifested in purity culture and other efforts by geriatric perverts to control the sex lives of young women. But with the recent revelations about the SBC, I guess it's more literal than I had thought.

    Wow, this is an incredible piece of history. I had no idea that Southern Seminary students -- at least those in this gathering -- were so liberal in 1993. As I've heard, it is true that the SBC was on the same trajectory as the mainline Protestant bodies (PCUSA, TEC, UCC, UMC, etc.) and their seminaries. From hearing these students, you would think that "men in ordained church leadership" was something that the SBC invented! In fact, it's the norm, not only in church history but even today. The Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox are firmly against women's ordination to priestly ministry, and that's roughly 1.5 billion Christians. Globally -- especially the global South -- the vast majority of Protestants are also against it.

    • @LeonardGarden

      Yes, as other commenters have mentioned, it is surprising that these were 1st, 2nd and even some 3rd year students expressing 'concern' about the 'validation' or the 'personhood' whatever that means of women. Even lay church members should be aware enough of the scriptural passages (if not already guidance from church confessional statements) that relegate specific offices in ministry to men and specific offices in ministry to women.

Age means nothing, old and young can both lack wisdom, they can also both have much wisdom as given by the Lord. Albert Mohler is a clear example of godly wisdom!

    This is an interesting video. The viewpoints and the rationalities tied to those viewpoints have not changed since 1993. The addictiveness of the crowd's approval/applause hasn't changed. What has changed is that if this same scene occurred in 2024, there would have been far more disrespect shown. People would have booed, shouted, and stormed out of the room. We can't have dialogues like this in 2024...not because our views or differences have changed (they haven't), but because we don't respect each other enough to coexist. In our culture's pursuit of what we perceive to be tolerance, we have actually become less tolerant of one another.

    The primary quality I would be looking for in a pastor is someone who regards the Bible as the FINAL AUTHORITY in all matters of faith and practice! The Word of God trumps my personal feelings and any opinion that is not properly aligned with it! The scriptures plainly teach that the Office of a Bishop in 1Tim 3 is for a MAN to meet these qualifications! It is impossible for a Bishop to be the "Husband of One Wife!" Any woman therefore seeking this office has demonstrated that they do not hold the Bible as the final rule and authority! They have placed humanistic thinking over the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures!

    Lots of people in the comments calling these students arrogant... when it seems to me that they just have actual personalities, and are coming forth boldly. I don’t agree with their points of view at all, and am confused particularly why they’re so against the ordained created order of men and women, and also how they conflate gender issues with race issues - but we see that full-blown today don’t we, intersectionality muddling all characteristics of a person together, as if being disabled and being black for example are related in any meaningful way. However I respect these students for grilling their new leader, as they need to know where he stands on things. Calling them arrogant is unfair I think. It’s these kinds of people (who passionately disagree with us) who sharpen us and help us clarify what we truly believe.

      I think the accusations of arrogance come from things like the young man that listed all his great qualities at the beginning of his speech, the young lady that asked if he'd be open to the Holy Spirit changing his heart when she didn't seem at all open to being changed herself, the tone when the last woman said she's a pastor.

  • @samvogel2368
    @samvogel2368 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wonder if the one who asked for an appointment was open to the Holy Spirit correcting her as well.
    He is not devaluing women. Just defining the roles men and women biblically.

    I totally agree with this mans stance on women as pastors & elders in the church reading you bible it’s clear that is not a women’s role. But that’s because I was taught the reason why and I went to a church and believed that and saw that in operation. If you are to a church that affirms the opposite in the 3 ways that I mentioned you will take on board and you will wrestle with It. God has to come in when really fall in love with master you will do his will. Before we start claiming all sorts because it a topic when sometimes I read comments they are not that gracious. Are you live in totally obedience in you life and submission and I need to turn that question on myself. if you Are a man are you the shepherd of you home and are you loving you wife as you should are you making sure that if you have children that are faithfully growing them up in the word and ways of God that is the kind of man that steps into the pulpit. That is why I like this man he leads and steps up but he is not rude and he is gracious but he doesn’t spare the truth it is clear he has a path that he wants to take the seminary.

    What kind of seminary was thiis before Dr.Mohler came ?
    I think it was a complete mess it was like in the time of the judges in Israel.
    Everyone followed whatever. The Nigerian lady was very disrespectul towards Dr. Mohler. Also the opiniated student. The last question was from a lgbt female pastor. A liberal
    Mr. Mohler was filled with the Spirit . Never compromised
    his sacred biblical position. God bless him a million time s
    Good and faithful servant

    It seems to me that many of the questioners were of the opinion that Dr. Mohler should change his understanding of scripture as if he had that option or in lieu of that be dishonest with his heart and tell them what they want to hear.

    You know from the age of 12 I got up started studying the Bible studying people studying all the different churches and I'm still doing it 63 years later.
    Maybe it's just me but I've seen a many things under the sun many things many flavors of distortion of religion from the way I read the Bible the way I read the disciples and the disciples that are not even the disciples yet of unknown nature but I do follow Jesus not so much as Paul cuz Paul didn't even write the damn scriptures but I don't know I guess it's just me. But ever since Al mohler has taken over the Southern Baptist he's run this place in the ground he got divisions between everybody nobody gets along The outcast that are outside of the church he judges him constantly which should be none of his damn business but he does he throws gaze out of the church and kicks people like that out and then he talks about him all the time 10 years. Covers up all the sexual abuse covers it up Go look and see yeah maybe it's just me but I don't think he's ran that place very well at all by their fruits you shall know them. 🙏👆😇

    These people need to hear the sermon my pastor gave about roles of women in the church. The reason women are not to pastor has to do with the symbol of Jesus as the head of the church. Jesus was a man/God. God created Adam first then Eve. In Ephesians Paul says the man is to love his wife like Christ loves the church. Man and Woman is a picture of Jesus and the church ie the Bride. Therefore if a woman is a Pastor or rules over a man it messes up the symbol God put in His Word. My pastor graduated from southern under Dr Mahler about 5 years ago. Don’t know if I explained it well but after hearing the sermon I understood why.

    If the man who claims Mohler is not an Ambassador of God, then he has assumed Mohler is not saved, because every Christian is an ambassador of God. If that's the case, how could there be any hope of reconciliation as the student claims he desires? It's just a bunch of double talk foolishness from the left. At the same time, It irritates me that Mohler was not using as much candor and he praised the leftist students for having. I still think there's a place for straight talk and telling people the truth without squirming regardless of the position of leadership.
