      Too bad he has gone Marxist on the Confederate flag issue, even going so far as to use similar language as cultural Marxist do. I was surprised to say the least.

      Had we actually won the Third War for Independence, we might not be living in such an age of tyrannical rule from a godless dictator in Washington.

      +1Atomtan I am not aware of the political positions of anyone at Ligonier. I came across Ligonier and Dr. Mohler when hungering for the Word and after discovering the apologetics of Ravi Zacharias Ministries. I glean what is good and reject that which is not confirmed by at least 2 scriptural witnesses. Cultural Marxism would seem contrary to the Word because it embraces cultural relativism. The word of God, his law, is the polar opposite of relativism. Righteousness means not being equal but being set apart from the world (holy) and life in the flesh and living a life that reflects decisions made in regard to the Spirit instead. Because God is Spirit and seeks those who worship both in spirit and in truth, the Spirit is not equal in terms of relativism to the world of the flesh, it is holy, superior.

    "You just might have the wrong theory!"
    It's amazing! Romans 1 right there, shining above the naturalist worldview.

    There is no conflict between the Bible and science.

    Materialists are an abstract enough group that I don't generally have a problem talking with people who identify as such. But I get so sick and tired of trying to reason with people who identify as atheist, or postmodern. They have endless objections, and are ruthlessly condescending. They are free to characterize Christianity however they see fit, but they themselves abhor outside interpretations of their own labels. As a former atheist and existentialist, I feel obliged to engage with some of these folks, but it truly feels like such a waste of time. I have never had a single one of them ever agree to any of the internally consistent Christian definitions of our own religious terminology. Perhaps they've learned they can not win by engaging on the substance of Christianity, but I really don't think they've put that much brain power into it. They just like tearing down for the sake of tearing down, and it gives them a satisfying dark glow inside to act out their nihilistic worldview. I have to constantly remind myself, "don't answer a fool according to his own folly, lest you be like him yourself," and likewise, "don't throw your pearls before pigs."

    Well done for demarking many ways materialism is not only a false but a bad worldview. Also, minds don't have material properties, so they are not matter, so materialism is false. And God is a mind, too. That's metaphysically basic, I'm sure we can agree.

    Why is it that around the human ear are tiny muscles so weak we can't use them .. apart from the lucky few that can wiggle their ears?

    Nit. The Gaia theory has nothing to do with paganism or religion. It's a hypothesis, maybe a theory, I forget, that explains earth's ecologies and how everything is connected when it comes to the environment. Some people may have subverted the idea into a pagan religion. It is meant as a serious piece of science.

    All gods and religions die and are replaced by new. it will not be science. Science has no dogma, it certainly has no need of faith. Gods are replaced by gods. Somewhere there is a smart guy devising a religion with a wide appeal to the atheist and the currently religious. It will have a god, but it takes some sort of genius to devise a god that would appeal to atheists. I suspect it will be a god that does not demand worship. It will be a god that asks men to show fellowship and empathy. It will be an advisor not a director. There will be no commandments. It may not even be a real god. It may just be a figurehead.

    Hegel's God, Absolute Spirit makes much better sense than the god of Reformed Christianity.
    In understanding the principle of Dialectics , we see that Spirituality and Science need not clash, but can work harmoniously together.

      @@webmillions True. The God of the Bible is the God of Nature, which is what Science studies, not the god of
      Reformed Christianity, which twists scripture to portray an authoritarian dictator as God.

    Why then , did God give us the bible.? Jesus is Adam. Adam wS was created by the aliens. Kn order to create anything, you have to have the seed . This is written in 1 Corinthians chapter 15. You have to have seeds, in order to create. Or grow something.
    The seeds for man is the DNA.
    If you have any understanding of the bible.
    Ezekiel describes 4 beings who came down. And the craft came down, and created a whirlwind, as it landed. The " UFO " is discrbed as round, and had wheels within wheels in it. And a cristal dome over the top. Just remember that the devils are physical beings from another world as well. Mathew chapter 12, v 25 to 29.

    I believe in the machine. As a machine I can be good without God. My joy of life is as good as yours. I give no authority to a God that does not exist.

    • @nighthawk7050
      @nighthawk7050 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      With all due respect, machines have no joy. Machines cannot be good, apart from those which please their creator. I wish you all peace and joy, friend.

    • @rcconklin9621
      @rcconklin9621 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is presumptuous to say that atheists (machines) can not have joy or be good. My joy comes from being a part of life that streches back 3.5 billion years. I am good because of an internal sense of personal honor, you are good because of an external fear of Hell. EOT

    • @raymondsikkema
      @raymondsikkema 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      You miss the point of the "no good without God" argument though. It isn't that you can't be/do good, the point is that there cannot possibly be such a thing as good without an external objective immovable standard by which to judge what is good vs what is not good. The very fact that you claim to be good means that you are referencing yourself to some idea which you know to be understood by those listening to you. This is only possible because there is a REAL standard. Same with joy, or love or hope or beauty or justice. All these things are impossible to explain materialistically. Yet you know them to be real.

    • @BonnieBlue2A
      @BonnieBlue2A 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      RC Conklin Why do you assume fear is the motivating factor in having a relationship with one's Creator? What an odd claim to make.
      2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind.

    • @rcconklin9621
      @rcconklin9621 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      As a metaphysical naturalist, there are no: supernatural, inspirational, spiritual, or God(s). The men who wrote the Bible were no less fallible the we are today and we have two thousands years more of experience. Quoting Bible verse gets you nowhere. Christianity is just another form of dualism, which means that belief in a "Real standard" or "external objective immovable standard" are appeals to a divine authority that does not exist. Be it fear of Hell or love of God, good Christians of the past have been quite content to burn us heretics at the stake.
