I got the 50mm f/1.4 a few days ago. It's pretty cool. Im not really complaining about anything too much. I like the look. It's like the F mount G version but shaper. It autofocuses way faster, too. I know a lot of people really didn't like that lens, but this is a pretty good z mount replacement for it.

It takes a lot of effort to fuck up AF while having a censor the size of a football field gathering all the light there is from the sun…. Great job Fuj
Sensor size really doesn't have anything to do with it, especially now with PDAF. They have to add AF points directly on the sensor itself to make phase detect work... so the bigger the sensor, the more points they would have to add to make it comparable to a smaller sensor with less points.
I never understood the whole 3D pop thing till you reviewed that Plena lens. That was pretty wild, you literally couldn't tell if you were infront or behind the boxes

The Fuji 35mm 1.4 is what I’m looking for. Small size with character…. If I can find a good deal. I think using area vs multi is the best for Fuji video. Custom settings depend on the lens.
Throwing my 2 cents out there on the Samyang 135mm f1.8 FE. It's incredible on so many levels. 3D pop, tony's for days, sharp, and the focus has been solid. It's been my favorite Sony lens so far.
There are zero camera stores anywhere around here. If you want anything it's Walmart or Best Buy. I've always gotten my gear off eBay and have never been disappointed. Medium format is cool, but hella expensive. The 35mm T1.4 has good Tonehs.
Yeah, I’ve been waiting for you to see the light on medium “lesser than full frame” format. If not from the image quality, then strictly through the potential income from affiliate link$.
Feel obligated to mention that the Nikon mirrorless cameras you can speed up/slow down the rate of autofocus and how fast it switches between subjects. If you have left it as out of factory it is probably a slow setting...
I bought that exact same battery charger with the two batteries for my Z8 and Z6iii. The charger works with the caveats you described but the batteries that came with it are the WORST 3rd party batteries I have ever had and a I have many. The lasted about 50to 75 shots on my Z8 and they don't even work with the Z6iii. You get a message and the camera just shuts down. If you need 100$ charger that sort of works then it's ok I guess but overall it's the worst value out there. Thanks for the video!
Loved the look of the Nikon 50 1.4! The Plena looked as if it had less contrast. I would have tried the Nikon 105 2.8 micro, supposed to be the sharpest macro lens made.
The 105 S is extremely sharp, it cutting your face when you use it for vlogging. But the AF motors on it are a bit slow. So not sure if it’s really that suitable for filming
The reason it likely has a USB-C port is in case the wire if it were directly connected should fail, you can just go get another cable vs buying a new device.
Love your visit to the camera shop with all the paid extras 🤣🤣, you have more police after you after saying there lens suck 🤣🤣 35mm 1.4 had super blurry Boker. I prefer the 50mm 1.4 for cleaner nicer colours and slightly more pop. Please, more visits to the camera shop as this was fantastic viewing 🥳🥳🥳🥳
I shoot the Gfx for stills and love it. But I can imagine it not being great for video. I'm curious though, which combo has the correct color rendering of your shirt? The Gfx is way more yellow and less orange than the others. Curious which is more true to life.
With GFX + 110mm F2 was expecting that it will send background to oblivion giving super gradient, but it gave the worst bokeh of all lenses you tested here, weird hard lines everywhere. I'm shocked.
Regardless of the manufacturer, the optics and raw files in the Fujifilm medium format will surpass anything found in the 35mm full frame format. Moreover, any misguided comparisons you encounter on TH-cam between medium and full frame formats are conducted using lower resolution compressed JPEG files, which is utterly absurd. Ultimately, medium format stands as a future-proof choice. To Summarize, I am not knocking full frame because it does have advantages in autofocus speed and weight.
@@VirtousStoic I completely disagree since all of these manufacturers are now fairly even, with none being better than the other, and there was no need for anybody to switch systems.
That GFX had a great image! You can get the original GFX 100 used for less than $3,000, a new Mitakon Speedmaster 65mm f1.4 lens for $599, Add an atomos Ninja 5 for another $599 and you get 4.2.2. Casey, do you think that smaller apertures help with the 3-D Pop? A lot of older lenses were f/5.6, f/4, etc. I’ve shot my Nikkor Z glass at f/5.6 and it gave the pop In before “Greater depth of field, duh”
I use to follow this content creator with his old channel. Is he still active with it or did he switch over to Camera Conspiracy. Always found this guy hilarious and will follow him whatever his interest are.
Hey Casey, try GFX with EF glass and some AF adapter, I'm using fringer EF-GFX with my GFX 100S it just so good, option to stay wide and with thinnest DOF makes it completely amazing: - EF 50/1.2 turns into 40/0.95 equivalent with AF - EF 35/1.4 turns into 28/1.1 equivalent with AF - EF 40/2.8 turns into 32/2.2 Yes, there vignetting, it could be removed and some lenses covers GFX without noticeable vignetting. Never tried video but for portraits it's so good, yes it might miss and loose eyes, but cmon that dof can't be reproduced with AF on FF: there is just no such equivalent AF lenses.
Your aperture does not magically become brighter or shallower on a bigger sensor LOL. Those lenses were made for a full frame camera thus 50mm is F1.2 and also TONEH 1.2 regardless how BIG a sensor you put it on, but when you put that lens on a smaller sensor lets say m43 you still have F1.2 but your TONEH now is 2.4 because of the field of view difference.
@@artur.charaev But your depth of field will not change putting FF lenses on a bigger sensor, thats the point, you put that FF lens on a m43 sensor the depth of field still wont change, only your field of view changes.

So we got EF 50/1.2: - if we mount it on FF we are on 50/1.2 - if we mount it on GFX we are still on 50/1.2 but since we've got bigger sensor we capture wider picture and to replicate this picture on FF we will need 40/0.95 - if we mount it on APS-C we are still on 50/1.2 but since we've got smaller sensor we capture central part of picture and to replicate it on FF we will need 75/1.8 - if we mount it on m43 we are still on 50/1.2 but since we've got smaller sensor we capture central part of picture and to replicate it on FF we will need 100/2.4 But things a bit more complicated due to various sensor aspect ratio. OK.....starting to be too many lenses....I'm ready for your spreadsheet tracking the best pop and overall rating. All I know is Zeiss 18mm & 55mm is on top for Sony pop. What's the best for your budget on the Canon R5/6?
Ah yeah, if you want to video with a Fuji, get the XS20. The GFX is in no way a good choice for video. That 110 lens is magic for photos though, so it's no use to you :)
rumors say Fuji is planning a full-frame camera early 2025. Well, definitely not an APS-C nor medium format - so full-frame, right? what else could they plan?
E mount is 46mm diameter, X mount 44mm, it can handle smtgh very close to FF. Could be APSH sensor, could be a dual APSC sensor 32x24 kinda like Arri ( 4/3 FF would be great ) could be a dual MFT sensor 27x18 ( 3/2 S35 )
Try your Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 on the GFX >> 67mm f/0.9 TONEH !! that's 4D POP !! XD it covers the whole MF sensor and the AF works just as good as native glass.

Edit: I went and found the setting... Menu>Focus>"Focus tracking with lock-on"
I have the XF 35f1.4, it is contrast detect tier AF despite being phase. The amount of false positives, and hunting it does - bring a book while you wait.
welcome to fujifilm simulations!
OK.....starting to be too many lenses....I'm ready for your spreadsheet tracking the best pop and overall rating. All I know is Zeiss 18mm & 55mm is on top for Sony pop. What's the best for your budget on the Canon R5/6?
purple and green for life!🤣😂
"I like Nikon"... 🤣🤣🤣"Do you have any idea that I a in a show?"
Can you check the Viltrox 28 1.8? I feel like it has the most pop of the viltrox lenses.
Ah yeah, if you want to video with a Fuji, get the XS20. The GFX is in no way a good choice for video. That 110 lens is magic for photos though, so it's no use to you :)
This font really suits the vibe of the channel, I suggest you keep it
Even though, I know you won't... 😂
1:31 - you're literally a genius Casey!
Those Fuji’s colors,my god! If Fuji fixes their AF problems it’s game over.
That‘s the point: "If"
So you discovered film emulation, hooray
@@JojoJoget you can't emulate does colors buddy lol
rumors say Fuji is planning a full-frame camera early 2025. Well, definitely not an APS-C nor medium format - so full-frame, right? what else could they plan?
Didn't they come out and say that segment was already filled by other companies, hence why they wanted to focus on APS-C and medium format?
E mount is 46mm diameter, X mount 44mm, it can handle smtgh very close to FF. Could be APSH sensor, could be a dual APSC sensor 32x24 kinda like Arri ( 4/3 FF would be great ) could be a dual MFT sensor 27x18 ( 3/2 S35 )
m43 just to piss off Kasey LOL
You should be committed if you're considering FujiX in 2024.
Try your Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 on the GFX >> 67mm f/0.9 TONEH !! that's 4D POP !! XD it covers the whole MF sensor and the AF works just as good as native glass.
The world would end.
That GFX100II autofocus is in all latest fuji cameras. XT4 is doing actually better haha
Now I feel your pain :)
@@cameraconspiracies Remember seeing your video xh2s vs sony a7siii and it was working acceptable, i guess that was on the first firmwares. It went downhill from there haha
Fujifilm AF system with pdaf is as bad or even worse than Panny DFD. Fuji ninja should be blurred now as meme
15:00 is your skin that smooth or your just happy to see us?
Isn’t there always more separation with 50mm than with 35mm when lenses are from the same manufacturer? If anyone knows of an example to the contrary, please chime in.
Reading the title I immediately went and checked, no my camera is working.😅
Yeah the 35mm will be better focal length for street/travel, but the 50mm looks fine. Just wish they made it pro so I can ditch the 50mm 1.2
‘’ Boss! That weirdo is back in the shop again!’’
Man you have a lot of good options for camera stores near you, the closest one to me is 4½ hours away.
I really appreciate that sticky clicking noise coming out of the inside of your mouth In-between your word changes . It’s reminiscent of a quiet room with no background noise and all you hear is the chewing of a giant tablespoon of soft velvita cheese smearing around in the jaws and gums of someone you are slowly growing to hate over the years as time goes by.
The fuji definitely had the most pop, however don't really need to see the 3D depth of the tripod Gimbal head rendered while you are out of focus 😭
I took a picture of a crime scene once. Got arrested for "Indecent Exposure".. [oh humm]
I hadn’t noticed the holes in the elbows of your sweatshirt until you tested the 135 Plena. 🤷🏻♂️
6:20 "it's good, it's vintage... it's not good"
Love your videos you fellow Canadian guy…
Do you have pink eye and that is why you are back lit dramatically??
Looks more like magenta eye to me…
Could you make a vid about Canon and Magiclantern ? Get a Canon M or 700D ?
