Your forest engineering is amazing. You really make it imaginable for the viewers who only have modest shop skills to make things in their modest shops or garages . Thank you Dif!
Hey Div, That is the tidiest modification I have seen done on a VW rack. That is something I really enjoy about your work, it is very well done and quite clean. Damn good work ! Following an OG working in a small shop in the middle of a forest in South Africa is very relaxing for me. Thank you
Awesome original engineering brother !!! Awesome evening brother from another country you have me on the edge of my seat with every video !!! Your skills are beyond words brother you are awesome !!!
Great job Mr.Dif .There's nothing you can't do, nice to watch a man engineer and build anything using materials on hand and common sense. In the states engineering and common sense don't work together the computer doesn't allow. have a great day sir.More power to to the white beards.
Was having a hard time getting a understanding of what you where talking about at first. But as always you explain exactly what your.doing and the understanding comes into focus. Thanknyou my friend from Michigan
You always amaze me with your skills. I don't think this is your first rodeo Diff. Great job of explaining the task at hand. Kinda feel like I'm sitting there with you.👍👍
Your welding is purely pleasant to watch and I'm so amazed with your grinding skills. One day I wish to be as spot on with the grinder as you. Been around the block enough to know what makes a good fabricator is mote grinder than welding. Keep it up!😎
🤔 Tip: Hacksaw blades are only designed to cut on the forward stroke. (IF installed in the right direction.) So only apply force when pushing forward and lift-up when pulling backward. Otherwise, you can prematurely dull your blade. I didn't know that until one of my former Wyotech Motorsports Chassis Fabrication Instructors told me.... Who knew?
I feel your Pain... I'm in Kelowna, British Columbia Canada... It was 36 C last week, and 32 C today... I'm putting wheelhouse and quarterpanel on my '72 Chevy Nova... And there ain't much shade... I'm gettin' too Old for this heat... 🤣🤣🤣
I understand leaf springs coil springs torsion bar springs mopar but that contraption springs on the beetles go right over my head. But I do like the adjustable pieces that you made. Interesting stuff. Good work
Great job Diff. I bet you could have made the ride height adjustment air operated. Then wifey could go cruisin with the low riders. I love the welding sound effects. Keep up the great work. Cheers
I don’t know about the complete sucker for punishment. My dad was fond of saying anything you don’t make yourself is a compromise. Beyond the satisfaction of making the part, you also can rely on it being correct. Nice job!! I always wondered how they lowered those old beetles!
Hey Diff, the VW front end is something I never broke when I was trashing them through the fields and forests here in Wisconsin. Very interesting how they work. I had 60s Dodge and Plymouth torsion bar cars but they had a solid exposed torsion bars and were adjustable from the start. Great video as always. This AM we've already got 6" of spring snow with another 4" to come!😢 Won't last long though! Thanks
Yep fitted one to my Beetle back in 75/6 but that pulled the arms down with a big vertical bolt and tensioned the torsion bars so it got the car low but with an extra hard ride! Learned to drive in 62/3 bug in Zambia back in 66. Nice work. @@ratrodsafrica
Well when getting bolt on parts and building what you need it may be easier here but I would rather build it knowing that it was done right.some bolt on parts are not bad. Thanks for the video.Div very well done.Take care.
Me gusta mucho lo que haces, creeme, lo digo sinceramente, no hay ya tan buenos mecanicos, como lo eres tu amigo. Espero lo sepas lo dije con todo respeto y admiracion.@@ratrodsafrica
That is a very slick modification for the VW front end. Simple yet effective. Great job Sir.
Thanks 👍
Better than a bought one!
Heel leerzaam, misschien kan ik het nog gebruiken als ik eindelijk weer eens verder ga met de bouw van mijn 1972 Baja-kever.
Hey Diff. You never cease to amaze me. I love to see the way that you can figure out how to make your own parts. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁
Love to see what you build with basic tooling.
This helps to educate people who used the "I can't" excuse because of lack of equipment.
I hadn’t made a comment the last time I watched this and I couldn’t think of anything else to say this time ⚡️
As a VW owner with a static drop on the front, this is a great resource. I never heard of anyone building their own adjusters before. Thanks Diff!
You are quite a good engineer. What a job this is. VW owners will all want to do this
Thanks
Your skills and knowledge are amazing!
Thanks!
Dude, your skills are impressive.
Thanks bro!
Diff, you are amazing. Such awesome design and fabrication. I’m going to have to get one of those thinking chairs for my shop.
😁👍
Your forest engineering is amazing. You really make it imaginable for the viewers who only have modest shop skills to make things in their modest shops or garages . Thank you Dif!
Thanks man. Yes, it's my mission to show that you don't need a shop full of fancy tools to build cool stuff 😊
Love the detailing of the parts. Nice to see the pride in your work. Even when no one else will see it keep the videos coming
Very good job, you make everything look easy.😊
greetings from Wales. another brilliant vid. Ive been building since th late70's and I still learn stuff from you. keep on truckin' brother.
Thanks OG!👍
That's a good ideal i can do that for my dune buggie. I just need higher, not lower 👍🏻
Just do it the other way round!🙂
Top shelf fabrication as always Div. You certainly have a great set of skills brother.👌👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
Enjoyed that Div. Thank you for sharing boeta.
Hey Div,

Another great episode brother Diff......😎👍
Thanks Don👍
I always get some satisfaction making things myself.
I made my own shop press once because i could make it better than store bought.
That's why I like to build my own stuff as well!
Dif you are one smart cookie.😊

Glad you liked it!
You always amaze me with your skills. I don't think this is your first rodeo Diff. Great job of explaining the task at hand. Kinda feel like I'm sitting there with you.👍👍
Thank you very much!
Your engineering skills never fail to impress, those adjusters were brilliant! Awesome work my brother!
Thank you so much 👍
Your welding is purely pleasant to watch and I'm so amazed with your grinding skills. One day I wish to be as spot on with the grinder as you. Been around the block enough to know what makes a good fabricator is mote grinder than welding.
Keep it up!😎
Thanks! Just keep at it, practice is what makes it better 🙂

They taught me the same a long time ago. But reality and theory are far apart, I couldn't be bothered 😅
Great job. It’s looking good 👍👍
Thanks 👍

Nice job Div, and when you're in the country much better than having to go order and wait and hope.

Happy to hear that!
Diff, thanks for the info and demo.
I understand leaf springs coil springs torsion bar springs mopar but that contraption springs on the beetles go right over my head. But I do like the adjustable pieces that you made. Interesting stuff. Good work
It's just a version of a torsion bar as well. But instead of a solid round bar, it's a square pack of spring steel blades
Nice, wifey will be v.happy, thats going to be a great little car.
Brilliant!!!!!
Great job Diff. I bet you could have made the ride height adjustment air operated. Then wifey could go cruisin with the low riders. I love the welding sound effects. Keep up the great work. Cheers
Yeah, could do air, but don't want to spend too much time and money in the little grocery getter😅
Great Job..Fantastic
great instruction Div, and great work ,....one step closer for SWMBO AND MORE SUPPERS TOO...HAHAHA

Awesome work as always, Wifey will be proud and you will be eating well.

My brain sometimes drives me nuts! 😅
@@ratrodsafrica I know the feeling lol

Your dad was a wise man!
That was a fine bit of work reverse engineering those pieces! Very impressive work!
Thank you very much!
You do nice work Div 😎
Thanks brother!

Yes, those VW front ends are actually extremely well engineered!
Back in the 1970's we use to call those select-a-drop front ends! Cheers!
Yes, remember that!😅
Yep fitted one to my Beetle back in 75/6 but that pulled the arms down with a big vertical bolt and tensioned the torsion bars so it got the car low but with an extra hard ride! Learned to drive in 62/3 bug in Zambia back in 66. Nice work. @@ratrodsafrica
Look good duff pro work brother
