Sir i have a doubt, why are bases being constructed too close to the borders, ex. Pathankot, naliya and recent one deesa as they are within the range of Pakistan new mbrl system which have more than 100km range(they are cheap and launched in many numbers also are accurate and have variable warheads) do they have any contingency plan for ex. if war like scenarios develop they will be monitoring the opposite sides for such low cost systems(mbrl) and destroying to secure the bases???
Naliya and Pathankot were constructed way back when such a threat did not exist. And while theoretically the threat exists now, it is easier said than done. MBRL is an area weapon because of low accuracy. Its not a missile with high degree of accuracy. Unless the Pakistanis can launch multiple salvoes with multiple launchers, its more of a nuisance value than a big threat. Plus, the IAF is induction Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) for terminal or point defense of bases against cruise missile, guided bombs and such rockets.
