Well the traveler and veil are connected. The ghosts are the creation of the traveler so naturally they have this connection as well, but are just unaware of it.
Yeah that is true but my idea might be wrong or not but I believe that the traveler made the body of the ghosts and the vail made the souls but this could all be wrong but it’s just a thought
@@jrock6426 my same thought. I think the traveler makes all the physical things like our bodies and the veil fills those bodies with souls and memories, which can give those physical things purpose. Just like the Traveler beam we saw in lightfall/root of nightmares basically is just raw wild chaotic life, without purpose.
100% ghosts are freed souls once part of the witness, separated from the witness at the climax of the first collapse, they have no memory before this event similar to how guardians have no memory when they are, this is also likely why the witness has a connection with them probobly going to be a big reveal / plot point of final shape
I've considered this before too and I'm partial to the idea. The Traveler is big on giving individuals second chances, and the Ghost shape looks like the union of the Traveler and the Black Fleet, it would be fitting if they were parts of the Witness given the option to do something else with paracausality

I think when they wrote the fact about the drifter's ghost red light they hadn't figured out how we could use the darkness. At some point we should have modified our ghost. However I really like the fact that we can use darkness without anything even if having a pouka to modify like a ghost could have been cool
They should make a spin-off game/dlc where you are unaware of the events of earth or even the traveller you're on a complete different side of the universe and you fight differently, maybe you find a ghost and you have to understand how you use light, discovering new specters of it or wield darkness while beeing guided by a poukka, i think a whole other experience where you have no clue and you have to figure out yourself could be cool aswell
I honestly still want to believe in this idea that the Traveler and the “darkness” are for the same thing. They build a civilization up, then once they hit a certain point the darkness is a test on how they fair. Obviously that isn’t the case anymore. But I like the idea. The Witness being a major problem from their test and it forced the traveler to change how they interacted with civilizations
Ive had a theory for some time that the ghosts are souls of the Precursor race separated from the Witness. I always thought it was interesting that Destiny 2 opened with a cutscene of ghost talking but without the voice modulation he usually has perhaps showing ghost wasn’t always a ghost
Imagine if our ghost could meet his younger self from vanilla Destiny 1 through some Vex simulation or something, and they started talking about darkness.
It almost appears as if the ghosts are a spectral conduit of sorts. They can access the light or darkness depending on the spectrum they access. Being born in the light from the Traveler, it appears that they maybe adversely affected when they access darkness. It appears our ghost hasn't actually accessed darkness, but that darkness accessed it when the Witness spoke through our ghost
Happy you finally talking about this in a full vid, cause I definitely think the witness can access the ghosts since they have the travelers power but not as strong as a signal so he can tap into it at any time since the witness is the mass of his race put into one body from a ritual they did, so with that being known to us, we also know they understand the travelers power the best being taught for centuries
So.. the Veil is a giant universe spanning fungi, that consumes things and grows... the Veil and the Traveler were once one; so the Traveler would be a Spore. Mushrooms reproduce sexually (ish), so we have Male and Female spores that combine to grow into a new mushrooms... So If the Veil is a mature 'female mushroom' and the traveler is 'male' spore, than our ghost can switch back and forth from... Male (Light) to Female (Dark)? Hmm... Reminds me of how the Ahamkara are always talking about reality being good eats.

Wait, if the traveler is filled with the souls that eventually end up becoming ghosts, could it not be that the witness’s plan all along was to absorb the souls to stop the production of ghosts so that the traveler could not give out more power through them

Its not tha uncommon that a darkness corrupted ghost can't ressurrect a guradian anymore. If I'm right we were told that darkness users like Rhulk can't really die they regenerate over a period of time.
I mean of course they are darkness. Darkness is thought and consciousness. They are decidedly human consciousnesses plucked from the river of souls. Thats why them using darkness without knowledge erases their consciousness. Washes them away like grains of sand.
Perhapse the traveler is an unripe fruit, not developed, all giving but no purpose. Perhapse removed from the tree out of fear of what happens if it fully develops. Sgoping it's development, resulting in something with no purpose, the witnesses species being corrupted by the realization of no purpose.
