Heh...I'm basically averse to Islay peateds. So, when my Talisker Storm tapped out, I replaced it with a Port Charlotte 10. I thought I'd end up feeding it to my friends, but, of course, I had to sample it. Then, I had to resample it. My friends were similarly impressed. I've been sampling it repeatedly and it's almost gone. I'm gonna have to refill with another.
Erik, while watching your review I was typing that PC is behaving like Mike Tyson in these matchups and knocking out everyone...and than you mentioned Mike😂😂😂😂

Great series, and love the intro and special effects! I’ve got to get a bottle of the Port Charlotte 10yr. I’ve only had the non-age stated version, which is still pretty good.
Great show Erik, I've not had the coal isla 10 yet, however was sniffing my empty of the port Charlotte throughout this. The cork is still vibrant and doling out a peat punch after close to 5 months empty! Gotta get some more

I said it before - but I say it again in slightly different words: Keep doing what you did before, but mix it up from time to time with these competitions: they are a lot of fun! Also, they come close to what I like to do when I drink Whisky (or Rum for that matter): have two on the table and compare them.
I love Uigeadail and its my favourite peated. I thought Laphroaig QC was my second but after having a chance to try PC10 few times I would risk statement it beats QC and is up there with Ugi now. However I've never had chance to compare them side by side. I tried couple indie Caol Ila and they were good but didn't provide the same depth of experience even though they were cask strengths.
I recently bought the port Charlotte 10 and its absolutely wonderful. Tonight I have been nippin on the Ardbeg weebeast. That having been said I think Eric has the better buzz. Lol. Time for some port charlotte. Maybe I can catch up.
Another Islay 10 year old? Well, Lagavulin recently brought out a 10 yo for travel retail, there’s probably a number of Bowmore 10s out there (e.g. the "Tempest" at cask strength) and there may well be a special bottling or two of Kilchoman at the age of 10. But I don’t know of a standard Bunna 10yo that would fit the bill (and you’re not going to use any independent bottlers, are you?). So, Erik, you’re going to keep us in suspense for a few more days? Okay - good things come to those who wait. Great to see that the Port Charlotte 10yo is still doing so well in this challenge so far. Cheers.

Sorry, I disagree with your choice of the 10 for Caol, you should have gone with the 12, which is readily available. People watch this to explore new Whiskeys, and take your notes and run down to the store to explore further. I want to know how the 12 compares, not the impossible to get 10 year limited run. Save that for Rare Whiskey Fridays....

Got a bottle of cask strength Caol Ila 11 from Total for $50 from Berry Brothers at Total. Amazing deal. 55% ABV, NCF, NAC.
