What great movie. Great soundtrack. A true gem from the 80s.
One of the greatest films from the heart of the 80s a great decade for music
Wait a minute! The band not only has a very 50s sounding name but they arrived at the club in a ‘57 Chevy. Then they played “Runaround Sue” which was a hit in the very early 60s.
I haven’t seen the movie but this clip doesn’t look like the 80s to me. I’ll admit that the keyboard could be a little electronically advanced for the 60s.
@@georgesotiroff5080 This move is based on the return of a 60s era rockabilly star. Think of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens but a few years later.
What a great movie born in 81 and we watched this as kids on VHS all through the 90s
Eddie and the Cruisers 🎥 was beyond good. That is the 🎶!
I had the cassette to this soundtrack when I was in Spain back in the early 80's. Great memories.
"Tell Tony Eddie and Cruisers are here." Very cool.
Should have stopped the video right after he said that. Del Shannon Runway in background was awesome for this scene.
i am 72 and grew up in Somers Point NJ where Tony Marts and Bayshores clubs were located across from each other. These were great years in my life and the memories have never been lost. Tony Marts had many of the great artist such as Conway Twitty and many more. God I wish I were young again but at least I grew up in the greatest era
I'm 73 and grew up outside of Phila. We'd drive down to OC for the beach, but Tony Mart's for the bands, their music, the dancing, and the beer. Fabulous times.
List of bands and musicians who played in Somers Point is amazing. They had legends performing in that town...but, sadly nowadays you're lucky to even see a crappy cover band at a bar there
Your absolutely correct Rick it was a great era , you just can't compare it with the dead heads of today.
1958 to 1975 was the golden erq for music. RnR, RnB, Blues, Soul, hard rock, heavy metal Southern rock all converged on the music scene. there was so much crossover that made that time amazing. Everybody was doing everybody else on stage. They took from their hero's and made it their own. The guys that started the revolution were being played by their fans. The Brits took from everybody in the blues RnR and RnB. They morphed into hard rock and eventually heavy metal. The Allman Brothers revitalized the blues and started a southern trend of the music scene. Never will we see a crossover like that again.
The actual singer and band is "John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band". Michael Pare just lip synched and the other actors pretended to play but they did a great job of it.
Not all songs were from John Cafferty... Michael Pare did sing a few songs in part 1 and most in part 2
Eddie looks so cool in that black leather jacket
This movie wasn’t a big hit in the box office. When it got played on cable that’s when it took off. Love this movie.
Did good in my home state of NJ. Even had a local high school mentioned/shown in it.
Who's the douche blaming the people they don't know on innocent stuff they see on the internet that shows emotion? Fucking douchebag if you bring that to reality and hurt people.
I've heard shit blow up in the distance. I don't know what it was. Nobody talks to me and it wasn't the wind.
yes one of the best music movies ever
still
I used to go there in 80/81. They had a great Jethro Tull cover band. My parents were friends with the owners. Ah, the good old days.
Helen Schneider is absolutely smoking in this scene. She spoke volumes with her eyes.
The most awesome movie of my teen years!!!!
I remember watching this movie in 1983 at the small movie theater in Madison, NJ.
I will always remember the song he sings Thank you for the video .please keep the video up on the website
I remember when this came out, a great movie for sure.
This movie was the boss of the day! Drive Inn Movies! Thanks for the memories!
Aren't they wonderfully talented!?
Staff Sgt. Barnes pushing a broom before he was drafted into the Army...
because of this film, Streets Of Fire and The Philadelphia Experiment Michael Pare was my favorite actor in the 90s. it still makes me sad that he didnt really get much decent work after that. i always wish he had bern in The Warriors, him AND James Remar would have been too cool.
James Remar had a great role as Dexter's father in the TV series Dexter.
My intro to Michael Paré as a kid was watching him trying to box Ralph Hinckley in the Greatest American Hero. lol
@@thewab1974 i havent watched that in so long i dont even remember him being in it. now im going to have to give it a watch.
Fantastic movie that was. Comes to mind often
astounding
need to make movies today like this
A fantastic movie and Cafferty’s songs are right on cue for the time period.
Do you know who the dude with the broom is? None other than Tom Berringer!
Great movie
I still love everything about this movie...especially the soundtrack. #WordsAndMusic
Greatest movie ever.!
I KNEW THIS SONG WOULD SURFACE😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I own the musIc from these movies. I love John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band.
A young Tom Berenger.
I'd forgotten what a great movie this was
Great scene!!
Love On the Dark Side
Coolest movie ever.... Have to 80's to love, other than if you like it it's ok
I remember being so disappointed as a kid that Joanne and "The Word Man" were not in the second movie.
Deborah Kanaley well they closed those chapters of their lives in the first movie.
what really bugged me in the second movie was i just didnt think the songs were nearly as good.
@@newwavepop I thought the songs were great but their was no chemistry between Eddie and the girl. See I don’t even remember her name.
Whats the hold up ? Lets get on with the music!!! Kicking it not stepping on it . Music gotta breath man.
Love it
Joann made thiS scene
Great movie 👍
SASOURE TIME !!
still hot in 2021 ☃️,,,,,was here
Love the movies & the group. A few yrs ago, we asked, psychic woman looked & said, " yes, eddie was in the car with the seat belt on as he went over the bridge & down in the water to the bottom, but was missing after he hit bottom. Ect. Rip.
Tom Berringer?
Eddie lives
Cuz he was in an open Convertable when it went off the bridge. So it isn't much of a stretch.
I hate when i try and fail to find out what song was in a movie because it wasn't included on it's soundtrack. Google has no results for that song playing as they arrive at Tony Marts. Just found out it's called Runaway, funny the next song in this awesome movie is Runaround, lol.
Good movie here. Seen it. My dad likes it. Tom Berenger in his younger days.
At the start was that a young Tom berienger
Listen to the song Some Like It Hot
Michael Pare and Tom Berenger were still young.
Eddie LIVES !!!
Attitude
I'll say it again....Helen SMOKIN' HOT in this scene....GODDAMMIT....
UH! It's NOT Runaround Sue! It's Runaway! Until the end, that is...
I just watched the real singer on another video and it was so weird, I grew up with this movie & loved it. I know they were acting but omg I just can’t believe my eyes when I watched the real singer was just not right lol
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍!
michael pare had that hollywood matinee look but never really took off
makes you wonder if he pissed someone off
more colors ! mooooree , pliz
Loved part 1 but I liked the soundtrack to part 2 better than 1
Cool movie. Michael Parre'.
Is “UHaul” the only removalists in the US or something?
This is ROCK N ROLL
J DEUCE
RNR
I was a high way man sword and pistol by my side. Across the desert I did ride
I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE ..U. HAUL COMPANY WAS IN BUSINESS BACK IN 62? CRAZY, AND SAME DESIGN AND COLOR AS TODAY
Please bring this music back
?
I had a beautiful girlfriend in college she used to flirt with my friends.I had a lot of cool friends.I day one of the guys said this beautiful girl was flirting with me.If hate to ruin it by getting to know her. That's how I feel about this movie. The actors are so cool it seems a shame to ruin the movie with dialogue.
UHauls haven't changed in 50 years....
I want that car
3 problems this little song. Song this called by "my little run away", and I cannot hear the song. Oh one more thing the of "my little run away" is sung by Del Shannon . Thought you ,might like you to know.
Name of the movie?
♥️♥️
Del shannon runaway also
Wonder what word man has been up to has he done anything with his life
Sue did not run around with any of them
W
My girlfriend at the time looked a lot like her.
tony marts
That car looks a lot like a 55 Chevy.Back in the day you could buy it for right around a thousand dollars.even as late as 1969 a car like that would cost you about 2000.I remember we dropped my sister of at college in Milwaukee and gas was 18 cents.
Wrong again that car cost 2500 in 1955.Ten years later a Chevrolet started out at 2200.
You can tell it's a 57 because the tail listed are pointed.Hard to tell from the camera angle. I had a 54 for a couple hours. It was completely different. My dad saw it in the driveway and said take it back.My friend got on it when we were driving it back and the hood went over the roof. There goes that 400 dollars.
57' Chevy Belaire...maybe...convertible, straight 6 automatic superglide...
So hard crazy hard to get your hands on Eddie Wilson 45s! Even after the movie... the music industry is just plain corrupt. Nothing has changed.
Great movie but play the how movie
Pare couldn't even be bothered to learn a few chord for his part.
I know it’s a movie and all but where is the guitar player? So, many songs he isn’t playing guitar and there is another guitar. I watched it yesterday and I was like ok. Who is playing?
In this clip its a bass, but watch more, and its clear he plays the guitar.
Does anyone knows the name of the song at 1:00?
Runaway by Del Shannon.. it was featured on one of the releases of the soundtrack of Eddie and the Cruisers
If really now the man himself you would understand why he did want he did he was a great singer and writer
one of the greatest underappreciated movies of all time. With a soundtrack to die for. So sad this movie is so difficult to stream.
I get goosebumps when I hear "tender years" to this day
