i just exploded in laughter when the console just flipped into the water 😂😂 thank you for producing this type of content i juts love and want to do the same !!
Idea: extend the electric/fuel lines, fab up a shelf in the console - install the tank & battery in the console. Nice & tucked away, more room for activities.
my first boat was an 8 ft plastic boat just like this design.. i slapped a suzuki 2.5 on it, fit right inside my suburban. very cool video.. will be neat to see it run on the water! glad you didn't capsize out in the deep. i think chopping the console and sitting on the floor will help for sure.
Outriggers! That's my advice, anyway. Make a couple outriggers that extend out a few feet from the sides and the back; it's what I use to turn my kayak into a little bass boat and it makes it stable enough to jump around in. Get the biggest size boat fenders (dock bumpers) you can, I use the Attwoods, and fabricate the framing from pvc or treated lumber, and make it so you can attach/detach easy using your impact at the launch. Such a fun and cool video, and happy you and the boat made it back safe!
I think you should go all the way: that thing needs the worlds smallest pilot house! And a radar! And if it gets too top heavy, well give it a keel! You earned a new subscriber here! All the best from Stockholm, Sweden.
Lmao!! Awesome content! Im 23 just bought my first boat 6 months ago and now getting it ready to test in the water! But im already getting the itch to buy cheap project boats I see on marketplace… this series might just give me the courage haha, keep it up
Found your channel today and have already watched most of your videos, and subscribed also. Great content, keep it up. Looking at the console I noticed about a 1" hole on the back side toward the bottom (if you were sitting behind the console the hole would be by your right foot). This got me to thinking it may be possible to put either PVC or chrome bow railing on the bottom left and right, and after you cut down the console drill holes to fit the pipe/railing. Install the pipe/railing on the boat on the left and right (run the pipe through the console first) and that way you can solidly mount the console to the boat, but still be able to slide it fore and aft along the rails, but it wouldn't fall out of the boat again.
Props for trying. I do believe however you are a man that has the skills and ability to be a creator, and not a modifier. Design your own, and build from the ground up. I would love to see you make a design and put some real skill into it. You have the talent to do so. We believe in you. Be careful out there, not worth losing the $$ or to harm yourself. I think you are right however about lowering everything and getting to a more solid base. Keep the vids coming.
I appreciate the compliment - but I’m not sure I’d give myself that much credit 😅 maybe with some time to learn and a lot more space and tools… would be hard to do a full ground up fabrication in my 1 car garage at the moment.. but I do have big plans for the future! So thank you for the encouragement
lol that was great. I personally do not care if you split up the videos into parts. That said I like when people use a convention in their titles so I can find the next part.
I’m trying 😂 honestly wasn’t expecting to have as many people watching this quick haha hopefully will have my next one posted here in the next couple days and have lots more planned! Appreciate the support
looks better in white than I imagined, I hope you used some etching paint or somethgin, so it doesn't pop off, that would look horrible. I prob would'v ewent with fresh camo paint. top to bottom. I wouldn't sit on the livewell, but I would cut the console down to fit that seat height. too bad you can't rig it so you can unclip/ cotter pins/? and then slide the seat back, and have access to the live well- ? good job keeping this thing tied up. flipping the whole thing into the water would've been horrible.
@@BoatBusters I think that is a pelican bass raider, which is not a "fast", boat but considered a safe paddle around catch some fish type rig. The transom made for a 3hp motor at the most. @@BoatBusters there is a U-tube channel ((" Marty Zoffinger ")). He was doing fishing down in Florida (Gulf of Mexico) side on kayak's and modifying them to meet his needs. 1 video he modified a Pelican Catch 12 with a 5 HP Coleman outboard motor; complete with remote throttle and shifting controls and clocked out @ 21 mph on a kayak. It was one of the heavier 4 stroke outbounds. The Amazon 3.6 hankai might be interesting on a wider profile stable kayak. That particular outboard could be made a lot better. 1 slightly longer stroke to improve engine torque. 2 redesign the water pump assembly above the clutch so it pumps water continuously. 3. Give it a 4 blade prop. This would help greatly in rough and also moving water and help push heavy boat loads better as prop cavitation is reduced. 4. Get rid of the centrifugal clutch as when it gets much wear at all it will slip like hell. 5. A simple forward/neutral lever and improve that chinky lower unit and give it upper and lower level gear oil plugs like good reputable outboards have. Yes this would likely add $100 to the cost per unit, but it would be a much better useable outboard motor that would still be light weight and of better use for small boats. 6. High cost of Marine anything; boats/ outboard motors/ boat trailers; have about priced outside the reach of general publics reach. Conventional manufacturing like Mercury and Yamaha and others have abandoned the low end market, leaving open to the Chinese to stamp out whatever.
