    Changing the blade is a must. I think a lot of people forget that a blade, a bit or a knife, these are all cutting tools. Even a crap table saw can be used for finer work with a high quality blade. Nice review.

      I do lvt flooring. This is an amazing saw. I used the stock blade for a week on my jobsite, but when I had to cut wood for the subfloor repairs upstairs it was a little rough. What blades do you use. I am running diablo 42 tooth finishing blades. I'm not super educated on all the best saw blades

      @@CoKanet-no2jt I’m a big fan of Royce/Ayr blades. They’re not thin kerf nor are they cheap. They do however put up with multiple resharpens and come in just about every tooth pattern and rake you may need. Although I’ve never used them, I understand Forrest makes good quality blades as well. Regarding the flooring, my experience tells me composites are brutal on blades. I usually switched to a cheaper blade when the need to cut that stuff arose.

    I have owned one for several years and love it. I use it for making end-grain cutting boards out of maple, walnut, and cherry. I had an issue figuring out how to interrupt the measurements in the extended top. But your video was helpful in understanding the secret. I never could get the tape measure and the table measure to agree. Thanks for the hint.

    The burning is almost certainly due to the lacquer finish on the blade had a similar issue with my Bosch chop saw. We have quite a few Bosch tools, brilliant tools. 👍

    I have an almost 20 year old Ryobi job site TS, and it's gotten wonky as hell. but for the fence, when I need to cut something, I use my Carpenter's Square to make sure the fence is perpendicular to the table, and perfectly straight. But because my saw is so old, getting the blade at 90 degree's is near impossible. So watching these reviews is helping me decide which one I want for a home business/hobby. Thank you!!

    Hi Mike as per usual you have done a wonderful job of evaluating this tool. I just wanted to offer you a suggestion about thriving knife adjustment. The knife adjustment can be accomplished with the back of a tablet cardboard. The cardboard is a bit porous and allows for resistance between the fence. The thriving knife and when you make the adjustment you can hold the cardboard between the fence and the knife. Tighten a nut down slightly move the cardboard out of the way finish tightening with the compression nut lock it down put the other two nuts down hand tight check it again, it worked for me.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's very similar to the instructions in the owners manual. It recommends folding a sheet of paper, either in half or thirds, can't remember and using that between the riving knife and fence. I found that too fidgety and went for the old eyeball adjustment. Both Skilsaws and this Bosch all had the same riving knife and arbor lock setups. Thanks for watching Leroy!

    I spent ages adjusting the angle pointer to get it to match 0 and 45* on my Bosch saw. It seams the length of the pointer is to long to match both so it’s either one or the other. Good video. 👍🏻

    I have had my Bosch 10" table for 20+ yrs and after the initial fence issue, i have not had an issue since. I have built 3 homes with this saw and im NOT a professional and its still going strong today. I spent $575 back around the two thousandths? I originally had a Grizzly 5hp left tilting cabinet saw with all the accessories but it was way too big for my shop and unwieldly, even with rollers and I wanted something I could throw in my truck. When I bought the Bosch, it was one of only e few saws that would accept a full dado safely. Another thing, which no one ever talks about, is that the motor increases power as it senses interference in the rpm's, equal to about 4 1/2hp. I'm not sure if the newer models taught this or not, but they look identical to me, but a lot can change under the hood in 20 yrs. NOTE: I'm not one of the online safety police, but if you have kids or animals around, you will come to appreciate every safety feature installed atleast one time in your life, which is one reason i don't buy cheap saws. If they don't work or are fiddly, what's the point? You don't want to 2nd guess your life choices in the emergency room. Take care.

    I've been using the Bosch 4100 table saw heavily, for about 6 years. Did have to replace a barring at one point. It worked for quite awhile after that & recently broke down again. Unfortunately i didn't have the time or energy to investigate the issue this time. Since i love everything about this saw, i went ahead and bought a new one snd will fix my now "backup" when time permits. So now I'm using 4100xc & it's just as awesome! Little to no adjustments, straight out of the box twice!! 😊 Great review btw! After watching, I'm guessing you'd give this saw about a 4.8 or so, but I'm going with a 5 lol

When I set up my two saws (one was a cabinet saw and the other a contractor saw), Mrs. Meat had something to say; mostly it was something in the vein of, "so, how long have you had that saw?" As I watched you burn thru that oak with the OEM blade I thought to myself "... it's gonna burn" and sure enough it did. I swear that OE blades are just placeholders...something to throw on the arbor to keep the nut in place. Toss 'em and put a good blade on...at very, very minimum a Diablo. My personal choice is a Freud Industrial, but to each his own.
    As to the fence, I am going to watch the fence video as soon as I post, but my personal preference is actually to tail the fence away by .005"...so to me it is set perfectly! While rack and pinion fences seem to be all the rage on job site saws, I think I'd rather have this Bosch design. Much closer to the big boy setups.
    You mentioned several times during the walkthrough..." just like the Skil we reviewed recently" Well, the Robert Bosch company is a subsidiary of Skil, so it doesn't surprise me to see similarly designed parts here...just sayin'...
    I do like how you take an inordinate amount of time to delve into the guts of any equipment you review...a true deep dive. This is the kind of info I want and need to make an informed choice. Thank you, my good man. Well done!

If Bosch did as good a job with the new saw as they did with this saw it should be a no-brainer for anyone looking between these two saws. The biggest thing I don't like about the Dewalt is the stand - too hard to put up/down, move around once it's up, and seems like it could get "rickety" over time.

    Once again your video is awesome : the analysis of the tool is cristal clear ! As for the blade that came with the saw, is there a mention of the country where it was manufactured ? If it is Italy, it's made by Freud witch is 100% owned by Bosch in Udine ( FREUD = FREsse UDine ). FREUD blades are generally excellent ( on par with CMT or LEITZ : the guys that manufacture blades for FESTOOL ). No mention : it comes certainly from China, just as all the cheap Bosch blades are manufactured. But then, what a stupid idea from Bosch to ship such a blade to grab some more margin when they own FREUD. So, yes, consider mounting a true quality blade such as FREUD, CMT or LEITZ... For the overall quality of this table saw, yes, Bosch blue line are very well made tools... I just regret that Bosch did not convert it to rack and pinion fence witch to me is the ultimate design.

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you Laurent! You got my curiosity going so I ran out to the shop and pulled that blade out. Yep, China. Your completely correct Bosch should have included a top line Freud blade with that saw. They could have included some savvy marketing about it and gained a new blade customer. Missed opportunity for sure. Thanks for watching!

    • @laurentdumas3198
      @laurentdumas3198 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for having checked ! Bosch had also an acceptable alternative to save some bucks : ship the saw with one of their "Bosch Expert for wood" blue blades ( don't know if it is available in the US though... ). It's made in Italy so I guess it's made by FREUD and these blades are cheaper than the FREUD ones. But definitely shipping a Chinese blade such as their " Bosch Optiline" line is not coherent with their blue line tools and should be mounted only on the Bosch green line tools ( targeted DIYers, I don't know if it's sold in the US ).

    I would guess the Bosch blade got something sticky on it, perhaps sap/resin which created enough friction to cause burning. It just needs cleaning with spirit and should stop.

    One of the best aspects of this saw is how the table splits when you extend it. The fence extension support is level with the table, as opposed to the dewalt fence which has no support at all-I guess you can flip the dewalt thin stock support over for some support, but then your cut will be out of square vertically because this support is out of plane with the table…hopefully that makes sense

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews

      So I guess I goofed by not checking it. It’s the flattest table to date with .05 dip left of the throat plate. Spot is about 1x6 inches. It blows HFs new welding table out of the water for flatness. I’m about to preorder the new Bosch table saw and I’ll have to mention it in that video. Thanks for getting me off my ass Conan! 😂

    Hey Mike, any thoughts on the Bosch GTS15-10? According to their website, this model has a rack and pinion fence on it. In the meantime, I want to purchase a job site saw for smaller projects. That being said, if you had your choice, which model would you yourself select, the Bosch 4100XC-10 or the Dewalt DWE7491RS? Thanks, Garry from Chicago.

      I came super close to preordering that new Bosch and we may still get it soon for review. It’s not everyday a major manufacturer drops a new table saw. As far as the DeWALT vs Old Bosch I personally would pick the DeWALT but the Bosch is a very close second and I don’t think you would go wrong either way. Both are legit pro grade saw and it comes down to personal preference. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    Is it worth 2x the price of the Skil portable table saw you reviewed in January?

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Surprisingly tough question but I think it comes down to who you are and what you're going to use it for. Same as the Dewalt and Skil comparison vid it did they are meant for completely different buyers. The Skil is an excellent saw for the DIYer or Pro who needs space savings or serious portability. These big saws are great for extra table real estate and very stable stands. There's a new rack and pinion Bosch just out that I hope to get to after the new year. Thanks for watching!

    • @ProjectsForAllReviews
      @ProjectsForAllReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. After the video and I wish I’d included it because it’s the flattest one to date. It has a .05 dip next to the throat plate about a 1x6 inch section and thats it. Did better than the new HF welding table that claims +-.05. There’s a new Bosch rack and pinion that just dropped and I’ll mention it in that vid. Thanks for watching Jeff!

    Here's a pickle for all. You've been gifted a table saw or one has fallen into your lap for free. Now you do not like this table saw at all. But it 100% works as advertised and was free. Do you continue the hunt or take what you've been given and use it to the best of its ability
