Great advice went to the Loen Skylift at the end of April awesome experience. Great informative video once again keep up the good work always enjoy your videos 🚠👍🍰👏
In order to do both, we would have to take the excursion with the ship. We will be in port...7am to 4pm...They have an excursion at 8:30 am to the glacier...we would come back by noon or 12:30...Then we would turn around and get tickets to the Skylift when we return based on the weather... I wonder if that would really give us enough time. I am going to check and see if there are any other ships in port that day.
Hi @katd6580, sounds very much as the same timescales we had..so hope its not too busy in port so you can get to do both. Would love to know what you think ofbthe cruise when you return. 😀
@@AgelessCuriosity just checked...we are the only ship that day....thank goodness...but we are a ship of 3300...hope the weather is good...we are going end of May 2024.. looks like to play it safe and get back by noon...we should do the trolley excursion..gets back a tad earlier than if we didn't. So expensive though doing the one by ship, but the only way to get there early enough.
Hi, what time did you return from the P&O briksdal glacier trip? We have booked their glacier (walking) at 9:30 and their website says 4 and quarter hours, but then we’ve booked the loen skylift through P&O at 1:30 departure. Now I’m worried we won’t get back from the glacier trip in time for their afternoon skylift trip.
Hi. For peace of mind you could consider using Olden Adventure for the skylift part as they have shuttle buses every 30 minutes. If some passengers are delayed at the glacier it may affect the time you get back to the ship. www.oldencruise.com/shore-excursions/loen-skylift-including-transfer/ I'm sure you will have a fabulous day in this beautiful port.
We booked with Olden it was fantastic the cruise wanted double the price of Olden...............in order to get cake wow go back to the ship and have free dessert
Hi, we wouldnt recommend hanging on, and would suggest getting any tickets as soon as you're able to. We know that Briksdal glacier can get sold out, but not sure about the skylift...just be wary though that the more people up there the longer the waiting time to get back down.
Hey! Would it be possible to get the briksdale glacier tickets on the day or to pre-book them? Theres one trip by olden adventures at 9:30am which would be ideal but I'm not sure if Iona pulls in it that time? I've got the lift at 2:30 which is why I didn't opt to do the later glacier trip at 11am.
Hi Niya. I checked our daily Horizon for that port and we arrived at 9.30 so this excursion would be perfect timing. Our P&O trip started at this time and we were back at the ship around 1.30pm. I am not sure if you can get tickets on the day with Olden Adventure due to coach numbers. The decision will be if you will walk or get the troll car tickets. We were able to walk and enjoyed the exercise. Hooe you enjoy your cruise. Let us know what you think of Olden. We are going again next year.
Hi Benedict, its very hard to say...a lot will depend on when your ship will leave port and how many other shipa are there. We'd suggest 3hrs each should give you enough time to do both (6hrs in total), we hope manage to get to do at least one. Alison & Ian
Thank you for visiting!

We were on Iona 6th may. Loved it

Glad you also enjoyed your cruise in Olden. It is certainly worth comparing cruise line excursions with private ones like Olden Adventure.
Hanging in sounds like a good idea but would be worried that is sell’s out 😢 does it ever run at full capacity ?

Hi, would it be possible to do both excursion if we do the Briksdal Hike at 11am? That's the only time available in Olden Adventures. Thank you.

Very informative 😊 did you walk to the glacier or take a troll car?
Hi, we walked up...its about 30-40mins and quite steep at the start, but totally worth the effort. Alison & Ian
@AgelessCuriosity thank you 😊
