This movie is a pure masterpiece ❤ The perfect combination of originality, classic patterns, spookiness, psychlogical struggles, psychological horror, growing fond of each and every character because Abbey herself isn't pure evil, or at least she wasn't before she died, it's got a little bit of the sad reality of bording schools and homes etc back in the days (my great grandma grew up in one of those during WWII, my parents didn't allow her to tell me anything from her childhood til I was 10 years old and had already taken a special interest in morbid history, yes I was a screwed up kid but that's okay I hardly remember anything from my childhood), it doesn't confuse fear with disgust like most modern horror movies sadly do, it wasn't so full of "background" music and special effects that it takes all the suspension out (that always makes me rather sad. There are so many horror movies with potential, but the producers or whoever is responsible turned it into cheap gore. Also, there are so many scenes that would have been so frickin awesome, had they done it like you did and kept the background music on the down low and actually in the freaking background where it belongs!) and it was a very wholesome ending. I especially like the "babysteps" comment because it would've been too Disney if he'd suddenly be cured of all his psychological damage.

Turns out the guy behind Movie Central immediately blocked my other account because in the last video, I pointed out that the monsters simply looked like men in rubber suits. How many watched this movie at midnight on halloween after reading comments?
In my case, this awesome movie hits especially close to home. I don't really have agoraphobia as it is (thank goodness!) and my OCD is normally hardly recognizable if I just avoid triggers (otherwise it starts itching underneath my fingernails, which is very unpleasant, and if I don't do anything about it, my arms start itching. People often think I used to cut because I have scars on my arms that do look like that, but they are the result of repeatedly scratching my itchy arms until they bled. Sometimes, I also get what my doctor refers to as "stress rashes".) but I do have what my doctor calls "episodes". In those episodes, I can't leave my apartment, sometimes not even my room. It's not like I am scared of the outside and I don't know if I'd have a panic attack if someone carried me outside like most agoraphobes do, I just simply cannot force myself to leave. I literally stand on the doorthingy and I can't go any further. I can go back or to each side, I can lift my leg up, but I can't force myself to step outside. One time, I spent an entire month in my apartment on campus. I called my boss (teacher? It was during my apprenticeship, she wasn't technically the boss, but she was the one who was supposed to train me, not that she ever did) and made up some lame excuse about a family emergency that hindered me from going to work and told her she can take it off my vacation if neccessary, luckily she didn't because that wouldn't even have worked with the number of days but still, I knew if I explained the situation she'd just have told me to get over it and that it's no excuse to stay home, if I'd just called in sick she would've wanted a doctor's note and that would have required for me to go to a doctor, anyway it was a high gamble because she could've easily found out I wasn't with my fam if she'd just asked the people working in the living areas of campus because they of course knew I was there (in case of fire or whatever they always needed to know) but lucky for me the communication in that place was terrible. Well, and it was basically an unpaid apprenticeship, that kinda makes the people less eager to know or care if I was actually away for an emergency or if I was just stuck in my apartment. Either way, I've had a good amount of food there and I had food delivered twice, it still wasn't enough for that long so basically by the time I got out of there I'd lost about 5kg and I was in such a bad shape the campus staff insisted on sending me to a doctor, who, kind of understandibly, thought I had anorexia or bulimia because not knowing the situation I was in before, he thought I'd starved myself.
