The story about bringing back Maul is great. Lucas tells Dave Filoni he wishes he didn’t kill Maul because he was a character with potential. “Do you think there’s a way to bring him back?” Filoni was like, but he’s dead! He was cut in half! Lucas says, this is Star Wars. We can always find a way. Of course, Filoni was a bit scared to do it because if it wasn’t done in a way the fans would be happy with, he’d be a joke.
Really good writing, animation, voice acting and action-scenes Fun-fact: these episodes are written by George Lucas's children; his second daughter Katie Lucas, the force is strong in the Lucas family
Do you really watch all The Clone Wars Episodes, because I caught me several times being confused about your comments, for example: "Another guy with a double lightsaber, when you should have clearly seen Savage Opress back in Season 3 with a double lightsaber" or Back in the "Arc Troopers" Episode, when you wondered who 99 was, when he was clearly introduced in the Episode before. I just love your style of reactions, you are not overdramatic like so many, while being curious and entertaining at the same time, you are just authentic. And I would love if you could clear that for me, because this ruins your authenticity a little bit for me, and I would like to fix that. :)
Sam Witwers voice acting for Darth Maul is legendary. The way he sounds so broken, pitiful, and maniacal before he then has a moment of calm clarity: "Revenge. I must have my revenge"
@@acaptaincole8456 underneath the madness.. I believe some of it was from his training with sidious. “Always remember I am Fear, Always remember I am hunter, always remember I am FILTH, always remember I AM NOTHING”
The line "The chains are the easy part. It's what goes on in here that's hard." said by Maul when Savage founds him were previously said in the Season 3 episode "Altar of Mortis" by the Son, also voiced by Sam Witwer. It's also the Sith Code, "Peace is a lie, there is only Passion. Through Passion, I gain Strength. Through Strength, I gain Power. Through Power, I gain Victory. Through Victory, my Chains are Broken. The Force shall free me."
So the properties of the dark side can keep you alive from life threatening injuries depending on how strong your anger and hatred is. One ancient sith lord was essentially a walking corpse but the dark side was so strong in him that it refused to let him die. There are limits though like being cut in half straight down or beheading. Or like Vaders case where he suffered great damage inside and out and that's why he needed the suit since the dark side by itself wouldn't sustain him forever. If his breathing devices in his suit are damaged he could keep going for a while with just the dark side sustaining him but he would still eventually drop dead. In Maul's case it was mostly his legs that were lost with most of his organs still intact. No explanation on how he goes to the bathroom though.
Sam Witwer is amazing as Maul voicing him in this series along with the video game Star Wars Battlefront 2 even voicing the character in Solo while Ray Park who played Maul in The Phantom Menace returned to play him in Solo dropped over by Sam's voice. I highly recommend the game Jedi Fallen Order from 2019 it's a great game that takes place 5 years after Revenge of the Sith but 5 years before Obi Wan. Should give you alot of insight into the world of Star Wars and you may even pick up on some references. Battlefront 2 from 2005 is also a fun game with a great story mode from the point of view from The Clones. It's a really fun story and even features Temuera Morrison doing the voice voice over who of course played Jango and the Clones in the films. The Jedi Knight games are also great from Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast to Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Both Jedi games are from the early 2000s but the gameplay still holds up really well and I'm pretty sure they've been remastered for consoles.
Also their was a Deleted Scene in the Season Finale When Darth Maul meets Kenobi again, Savage has a hostage with him and he decides to kill her with his lightsaber in a really brutal way.
Maul doing the absolute MOST. I mean Sam Witwer is going OFF. The whimpering, the sobbing the maniacal laughter. Reciting the Sith Code. More laughter. Screaming Meanwhille Savage and Emme: ...ok ..uh so ...wtf happened... Emme *looking at Maul* "this is Bambi" This is the best thing anyone has ever said 😂 I DIED 😂
Fun fact Sam Witwer the voice actor for Darth Maul also was the voice for the Son from the Mortis arc, also he voiced Darth Sidious and the Force Unleashed Game and he was also the model and the Voice for Star Killer and the Force Unleashed Game aswell.
I have to say, Emme, you might be able to have a career on stand-up. Your observational skills are great and your ability to formulate little quips is definitely signs of a comedian in the making. 😊
Sam Witwer has me on my knees with his performance here. Also I love that he brought so much to the character! For those who dont know it was his idea to have Maul recite parts of the sith creed! My favourite line has to me "always remember I am nothing" bc the way his voice breaks has me like 🫢😟😭 Maul is my favourite Star Wars villain like by A LOT. In episode one I didnt really care, but CW?! This man is SO dramatic, hes always monologuing, but sometimes hes also just *inarticulate screaming*. Also hes way more interesting than Palpatine bc while Palpatine WAS playing 5D chess for years, hes just EVIL and has zero other emotions other than being evil. Maul IS horrible too but he has a bit more depth. Vader IS dramatic too, but I was never afraid of Vader idk hes just like not that scary to me. Yes hes powerful but he just doesnt have the Maul vibe. Dooku is also among my faves bc hes so CLASSY. Also bc his initial ideas were CORRECT but he let himself be manipulated and twisted by the Dark Side.
They never mention this in the show but it is canon and it was supposed to be reveal in the Son Of Dathomir arc but the show got cancelled and they never got the chance to finish the episodes but Mother Talzin is the biological Mother of Darth Maul. The arc was supposed to show that Mother Talzin thought she was going to be Palpatines apprentice but Palpatine had no intrest on taking Mother Talzin as his apprentice since she could become more powerful then him but Palpatine was more intrested on her son so he kidnapped him and he tortured him and trained him into being the Sith Lord we saw in Phantom Menace
my theory on way mother talzin made his legs like that: sense the nightsisters never leave their planet, grievous's robotic legs are probably the only robo legs she's seen, so she based the legs off of that
maul fell onto the garbage disposal on naboo. That's how he got to the junk planet. Also Dark side feeds on rage, hatred and suffering. He had more than enough to survive. There was actually a sith lord who was unkillable, keeping his body intact only through his will. He died only becouse he made a peace with himself
20:43 Well, there may not be an open window, but Ventress finds a way to open a door! That was a very cute reaction by the way. 😍 I really like all your expressions and thoughts!
I love Maul, he will forever be my favorite character. This episode is just awesome. Lotho Minor is a garbage planet. Think of it as one giant wasted dump xD First, Morley gets roasted by Emme and then by Savage as well. God, I hated that fing snake.
The double bladed lightsaber was alot more common thousands of years ago in The Old Republic when The Sith was everywhere, it is designed for and promotes lightsaber vs lightsaber combat against multiple people. After the fall of the Sith a millenium ago, the double bladed saber was in essense banned by The Jedi. With no more Sith to regularly fight there was no need for Jedi to become proficient in it when all it did was promote an aggressive mindset and fighting style. Which is precicely why so many Sith use it. Even wielding two sabers like Ahsoka or Aayla Secura is almost abit frowned upon but acceptable because it main purpose is defence. "A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defence, never for attack" - Yoda
I was wondering about your reaction to seeing Maul in the end of Solo, last we saw him he was bisected at the waist by Kenobi and fell down a pit, assumed dead. must have been weird seeing him as a Crime lord at the end of Solo before seeing any of this...
Do you plan on watching the best of Bad Batch and Rebels? Some good Mandalore stuff in Rebels especially before you get to the Mandalorian series after Episode VI.
I love this episode! Also, personal opinion, when you get to season 7, I think you should do reactions for each episode, the entire season is fantastic!
I think the recommended list on Disney+ does suggest all of 7 because each arc has a purpose. I think Emme may find herself having to include more arcs with seasons 5, 6 & 7 because of the significance of the stories. I hope she has time though, with her school work and all. I can’t imagine these channels being easy to maintain with putting out content.
Currently besides Clone Wars I’m making my way through everything Star Wars and Marvel so I won’t lie, I think it’ll be a while before I need recs! It’s a lot of stuff to watch!
Good morning my dear friend and I wish you good luck in your school today my dear friend from Gabriella Rivas from Roslyn heights long island my love 💕💕💕💕💕
Hello. I’m a new subscriber watching your Moon Knight playlist really enjoying your reaction to it. I’m hoping maybe down the line if you would be interested in checking out a K-drama called My Name a revenge story of a girl seeking out who killed her father.
Any thoughts on the dynamic between Darth Maul and Savage Opress?
season 5 gonna be fire.. so many good duels.. :D and the last arc.. :D its one of thebest
They are awesome together and Maul is my favorite character.

Sam Witwers voice acting for Darth Maul is legendary. The way he sounds so broken, pitiful, and maniacal before he then has a moment of calm clarity: "Revenge. I must have my revenge"
And The repetition of the sith code mixed into is insane self-loathing talk of madness
@@acaptaincole8456 underneath the madness.. I believe some of it was from his training with sidious. “Always remember I am Fear, Always remember I am hunter, always remember I am FILTH, always remember I AM NOTHING”
The Bambi and Youngling Slayer 3000 comments had me laughing. These were a couple of great episodes. Really enjoyed your reaction, Emme. 👍
Classic Emme:
"I didn't know he had Anakin's Youngling Slayer 3000 lightsaber!"
Classic
This episode arc was the turning point for me where i truly became invested in this show. The quality doesn’t waiver from here imo. Just gets better

The design of Morley's mouth as well as his animation is a throw-back to a time when creature effects were realized through hand puppets.
At least you know how Maul came back after seeing Solo now 😅😊
If you watch the Maul scene in Solo again you can actually see his robotic legs!
this is where the fun begins 👌

The word 'brother' is spoken 15 times during this installment (not counting echos), 13 of which are spoken by Savage Opress.
Maul doesn't want to kill Kenobi. You can see it already here. I won't spoil his revenge but you can guess from this episode what he wants

This is such a dark episode oh so happy Darth maul was back but also terrified
Sassy Ventress and sassy Obi could have made a nice pair in other circumstances.
Fun fact Sam Witwer the voice actor for Darth Maul also was the voice for the Son from the Mortis arc, also he voiced Darth Sidious and the Force Unleashed Game and he was also the model and the Voice for Star Killer and the Force Unleashed Game aswell.
Children in Star Wars can never catch a break😂😂
I've seen a video of Sam Witwer and Clancy Brown and Clancy sometimes looks genuinely disturbed at the noises Sam makes as crazy Maul...
Yes, Maul!!
The Clone Wars Series made him one of my favourite Characters in all of Star Wars.
And Sam Witwer is amazing!
The best story arcs in the Clone Wars all have Maul imo
Ben Diskin's vocal performance of Morley is patterned after the distinctive speaking style of actor James Hong.
I have to say, Emme, you might be able to have a career on stand-up. Your observational skills are great and your ability to formulate little quips is definitely signs of a comedian in the making. 😊

the red title Card is not only used for Maul, us Fans has learned, that when there is a red title instead of the yellow one, we should fear.
this is the start of your journey to loving Maul
Arcadia 234, the junkyard planet from the film Soldier (1998) is an influence behind Lotho Minor, also a junkyard planet
maul fell onto the garbage disposal on naboo. That's how he got to the junk planet. Also Dark side feeds on rage, hatred and suffering. He had more than enough to survive. Emme don’t u remember episode 1 when it was darth maul against 2 Jedi. So are the Jedi cowards?

I hope she goes right from the Clone Wars to the Bad Batch to Rebels.
You should watch Rebels before rogue one.
She already watched and posted Rogue One. Her reaction to A New Hope is coming this Saturday.
as bad is darth maul is...he does look pretty cool as a character. Not as good as daddy vader tho.
