Viz Bigs are Great, they're definitely heavy. Every time I read Vagabond I feel like I'm getting a forearm workout. I do prefer Single volumes, but for quality and shelf life Viz Bigs are the way to go. Great video!!
Yeah, they can get a bit cumbersome at times, but I think it's worth it for the shelf candy and the quality. Thanks! :)
I actually see a lot of VizBigs out there for only around 15$ or less which is like 50% less expensive than buying single volumes.
I own quite a few Viz Bigs (all of the original Dragon Ball and most of Z) and they're super high quality over all. I love them! The color pages are pretty cool too.
Viz Bigs are great! :) It's sad to see they aren't printing anymore series in its format. :(
There's VizBig's for Fushigi Yugi, Hot Gimmick!, Dragon Ball (and Z), Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, and Vagabond. Honestly VizBig is the best bang for your buck you can get with manga. Extremely high quality, and you're actually saving money compared to buying single volumes. Especially considering these series are starting to go out of print, are out of print, or Viz is replacing the singles with the cheap 3-in-1's, like with Dragon Ball and Rurouni Kenshin. They're definitely my favorite release format.
It really is a shame that Viz doesn't seem to be printing any more series in this format. Those 3-in-1s are so bad. :(
@@Laethas Viz 3-in-1's arent as bad as they used to be, still significantly worse than singles though.
I have the whole series of Rurouni Kenshin and the first 5 releases of Inuyasha in the Vizbig editions and they're great in terms of page quality and amount of content. Though, on my Inuyasha Vizbig volume 3 the whole cover (the part that's the front cover, spine, and back cover) came off in one big piece about a week and a half after I got it. At first, I thought it may have been because I bought it on Amazon and the heat got to the glue on the spine through shipment but every other volume I bought didn't do that so I think it may have been just a manufacturing problem.

i have books 1-6 for dragon ball z
the only thing i hate about these are how fragile the spines are

Suggestion: I think that if you could zoom out we could be able to see more and would be more comfortable for you. But if it's not possible then that's alright.
Yeah, that's been something I've been thinking about for awhile now, and I'm trying to work on a better setup so I can show more of the volumes. I don't have a solution just yet, but I think I might be close to finding one. Good suggestion.

Forget vizbig, what about those deluxe hardcover editions like jojonium and fist of the north star master edition

I don't think any other publisher releases in a format akin to the VizBig, unfortunately. As for why they aren't printing them anymore, I'm not 100% certain, but I think it was because of poor sales. It's sad since I think they're one of the highest quality releases for the price.
This format was just too generous to last
Honestly these and the hardcover releases are the only 2 Viz Media formats worth getting.

I started collecting Fushigi Yugi since 2001 and I HATE how the switched the format after vol 8 (and then went back to 1-7 and changed from the original format) it made my collection look so wonky on my bookshelf. I saw the VizBig and saw that they had new covers and claimed there was new content. How does that compare to the original single volumes? I was tempted to buy the VizBig volumes because of the new content they said they had. I saw that majority of the VizBig cover art seems to be in the manga Art Book. Do you have any singles to compare?
The only other "BIG" volumes I've seen is Tenjho Tenge in the 2-1 volumes. I see a lot are releasing in 2-1 but standard sizes. (wotakoi, life lessons etc.) I like those because it's cheaper but not bulky.

Do you ever plan on making a manga quality review for Fullmetal Alchemist fullmetal edition and gundam the origin ?
I would like to do one for the Fullmetal editions. As for Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin, I would have to get the series first, and the series is not currently very high on my priority list, but if I do pick up the series, I would definitely like to do a "Manga Quality Review" on it. :)
I have the first two volumes of vagabond, and everything about the vizbigs is high quality, but the panels don't fit the page right. There are a couple speech bubbles that aren't in the page completely, which isn't a big deal and it's not gonna stop me from buying more volumes, it's jus tsort of annoyhing.
Honestly, I love vizbigs. Some might not like the lower quality of them but they’re very good for lower budget collectors and are generally better on the shelves in my opinion :)
