    The Bikeriders | Movie Review
The Bikeriders is inspired by the 1967 photo-book by Danny Lyon, which depicts the lives of a Chicago Illinois motorcycle club. It stars Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, and Jodie Comer.

Thank you for a thoughtful review and I am glad you enjoyed the movie. I see really contradictory reviews: some people absolutely didn't get it, others, on the contrary, did. I know I will enjoy it once I get into the theatre. I absolutely love the cast and I am a fan of character driven dramas. I don't care much about action or plot-driven movies, I am more onto atmosphere, vibe and beautiful cinematography when you just feel and rid between the lines.

That's really cool you found those personal connections to it.

Yeah, I didn't anticipate having such an attachment to it. And now I'm trying to figure out whether the gang/club my uncle rode with was actually the one that this movie was based on. That would be crazy, if so.

What made this movie worked the most for me is knowing the real story and I have seen the book in the past and when they showed Norman reedus I was like hey he is the real guy attached to easy rider immediately I was like yes and what makes the movie as a whole work is they did it where storylines and characters would get dropped and you pick them up later and like how they showed the person attached to the ending through out the movie I don’t want to spoil anything for people that don’t know the real story

Hey Cyn! Awesome to hear how you connected with the movie and the appreciate you have for it.
Unfortunately I can’t agree with you on this one, I felt like it fell flat and not enough development to latch onto any characters but I like hearing a different perspective 🙂

I liked it, but not as much as you.
I'd seen it trailered a lot, but was a bit meh about it.
Shades of Goodfellas for me, esp with the narration.
    Austin Butler, wow, so charismatic!
Tom Hardy, for me, appears to be playing a caricature of Tom Hardy these days, he shuffles around, unconvincing accent for me as well.
Jodie Comer's accent seemed a bit OTT to me as well, but you may be better placed to know how 'real' the accents may sound.
*Thanks for sharing your uncle's story*
It's definitely a book I'd like to read though.

This is one of the more positive reviews i have seen for this movie as a lot has been very mixed and honestly glad you enjoyed this one and it kept you engaged this one the whole time i am on the fence with this one and may check this one out when it comes out to streaming but its also awesome to hear that this got you reminding you of your Uncle awesome review Cyn

Thanks so much, YK! And yeah, I'm honestly a bit surprised by some of the less-than-positive reviews out there, though it does seem that in general audiences and critics alike are in agreement about the film as a whole. I'm just glad it worked so well for me, especially after not expecting it to!

I thought the trailer looked fab. I e been looking forward to it but haven’t managed to see it yet. I have quite a few biker friends. Rockers and bikers tend to cross over a lot. They are amongst the nicest people I know 🙂
I always find it really weird that people are scared of them.
Nice to hear some positivity about this one.
Sorry to hear about your uncle. Lovely about the names though x

I also wasn't super interested in seeing this movie, but ended up seeing it because it was the Regal Mystery Monday Movie. I had a similar reaction to yours, for a similar reason. My two uncles have passed away, but one of them, Phil, was a biker in the 60s and 70s. Uncle Phil would be gone for weeks at a time, because he and his buddies would decide to take a road trip to another county ( my family is from CA), or another state. By the late 70s, he didnt have a bike anymore and was finding more "normal" jobs to work, and he had even become a community activist. One of his acheivements was starting a job training center for young people in our city. In 1984, one of the guys who knew Phil from his biker days, and who was jealous of Phil's good nature and popularity, shot Phil , taking his life instantly. My grandparents held Phil's wake at their home right after the burial, and our city's mayor, city council, some of the police, and others came to pay their respects. So, in a way, by the end of "The Bikeriders", it felt like I was experiencing Phil's life played out on screen.

I’m glad you enjoyed it Cyn. I wasn’t too interested in this one along with the fact that I’ve been checking out some of the smaller films my theater had to offer.

That is the thing is it’s a situation where other people tom let in and they start traveling around hanging with random people across the country and one person was like hey we want to let these other people and start a new chapter and Tom was like we will fight for it and then said yes and it just kept growing then he was telling Austin hey your my Vice President I’m giving all this to you austin said fuck that shit left Tom and his wife and went to California Las Vegas Bay Area la area Fresno in center California that could be a good sequel because this movie is a hit

Was made to go see it as there was nothing about the movie I was interested in. It was well done I guess but had zero effect on me. I don't care about bikers or bikes so was a chore. Best part for me was Tom Hardy's expression at the end, had to stop myself bursting out laughing.
