Please make a story on Theodore roosevelt
May we sometime get video about your other favorite Presidents, like the ones about Hoover and Ike?

“I believe that mankind and fish can coexist peacefully”

Sorry my inner English teacher has arisen
The fact Woodrow Wilson played more golf than any other President is especially impressive considering he was mostly incapacitated for the last year and a half of his Presidency.
ikr??
Actually... when you think about it, only 3 other presidents had golf as a main past-time AND lasted two terms (Eisenhower, W Bush, and Obama, and going off of the video those 3 had a lot of other past-times). The other presidents that were mostly into golf (Taft, Ford, and Trump) were single-term presidents.

@@iammrbeat my teacher showed our entire class your 'Tinker v. Des Moines' video like 6 days ago. Was surprised to see you in a classroom of all places. Normally teachers just pick crash course or something
I much concur!
You’re telling me none of the presidents watched Mr. Beat videos in their spare time?
What a scandal!
I am offended.
Beat for president in 2024!
Don't worry, I'll become president one day.
The one who watches tv to see himself only.
I absolutely love the “Every president” style videos.
There Amazing
I'm so glad y'all dig them because honestly...I love making them more than most videos. It really works out. :)
The amphibious car prank was probably the most fun thing LBJ did while president
It's more fun when you do it without an amphibious car. Don't ask me how I know.
Too bad Ted Kennedy can’t share LBJ’s enthusiasm for driving cars into lakes
I would have loved to see it
LBJ was definitely one of those wacky and uncharacteristic presidents. Count Dankula could consider doing an Absolute Mad Lads on him or Andrew Jackson
@@redjirachi1 nah. LBJ was redneck AF. He'd have meetings while in the toilet. And he'd parade *_Jumbo_* (his junk) around.
Ronald Reagan also used to call Chicago Cubs baseball games on the radio before getting into acting. The odd part was that the station wouldn't send him to games, so he just read wire reports of what was happening at the game and made up details to entertain listeners. Apparently one time the wire report failed for several minutes, and he had to completely ad lib fantastical stories until it got back up and running.
I totally forgot about this!!
"And James Dean just burst onto the field and is eating all the hot dogs! And he hits a home run with an oversized hot dog!!!"
Imagine if this man actually used his powers for good.
He did the same as President 😮😮😮
I love this.
Everything about Teddy is like a precursor to the Chuck Norris jokes:
“There are 78 countries in the world in 1904… because Theodore Roosevelt allows it.”
Every other President: likes reading and golf and other typical stuff
Calvin Coolidge: Weeeeeeee horseyyyyyy 🐴
Me
That story was so wholesome honestly!
This comment is adorable, actually!
It is only a matter of time when there will be a bunch of future American Presidents who are really into video games.
My guess is that will probably happen around the time of the first Leeroy Jenkins administration.
I can’t wait to see the president have a gamer rage moment
I bet a president would love real time strategy games.
@@anniel6479 or grand strategy games like Stellaris
@@ribclicker Oooh, good point!
The idea calvin coolidge had his own horse ride machine at home is hilarious and yet properly tolerable from the time period
22:50 Jimmy Carter also painted as well, which he started in the 1980s. He was quite prolific, producing hundreds of paintings. In 2018, a book of more than 50 of his favorite works was published, called “The Paintings of Jimmy Carter.”
And wrote poems too.
It's strange to think that we, as Americans, aren't always taught that these people were just that: People.
We judge based off accomplishments, and don't always stop to think what they were like in their day to day life.
It's refreshing, and Mr. Beat definitely makes it easy enough to digest that it makes you wanna learn more. Bravo
Facts. I think this country would be alot better off at least publicly if our public figures were more... You know... Humanized.
@@lightyagami3492 Agreed. That actually started to happen with AOC after she did some streams in Among Us, raised money for reliefs efforts in 2020 and answered questions. She gives off that Millennial energy. I don't recall what the context was but it was in some flat or hotel where she was just sitting on the floor snacking and was like "Oh yeah I haven't moved all my stuff in yet" and I thought it was wholesome. That's just not something you see from a guy like Mitch McConnell or Chuck Schumer. Old white men from the Boomer era. Lame. It also helps that AOC is under 40 and has worked low-wage jobs so she resonates better with young voters.
@@ThunderTheBlackShadowKittyMany older congresspeople worked low paying jobs when they were young too?
Indeed. I just went to a conference hosted by one of my senator’s yesterday and while I may not agree with all of his politics, he is still a person
I also try to always remember that we all used to be cute little babies.
The videos of jimmy carter even as an old man doing woodworking was so cute!
He's an adorable old man.
I’m an English 15 year old but you’ve always made American history interesting and fun to me. Thank you, and god bless you Mr Beat!
Well thanks so much for the kind words, Jack. It means a lot!
I think it's pretty common knowledge at this point that Jimmy Carter volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and taught Sunday School for years - up until a few years ago, bless him!
The more you talk about Teddy Roosevelt, the more it makes me understand why Robin Williams played him in Night at the Museum movies
I love how you pull out more and more dad jokes as you get older.
I've been a dad now for more than 12 years, so it was bound to happen. lol
I totally forgot about that clip of George Bush giving this really serious speech about fighting terrorists and then immediately just going back to his golf game.
“Now watch this drive”
I don't remember which president it was (I want to say Coolidge) but the story of how Mt. Rushmore got funding was the commission invited the president out to a nearby lake for fishing. Every night the commission would stock the lake to the brim with trout so that the president would be able to catch a fish with every cast. When asked if he'd fund Rushmore he said something to the tune of "for a state that has fishing this easy I'll give whatever money they want"
In 30-40 years we will have the first gen z president who's main hobby is either playing videogames or streaming.
That would be hilarious and cool
Very
The next presidential election (not 2024, 2028) will be the last one where a Gen Z cannot run. That is terrifying and also surreal at the same time.
I personally do not think such "hobbies" will be hobbies come that time, maybe the video game playing
The fact that we haven’t had a Gen X president yet makes me think we won’t have a Gen Z president for like 70-80 years
@@nickboi7270 The 2028 election will be the first election that we probably won't have Trump or Biden in the election. It'll take us about 25 years for us to recover from the divisiveness and we'll be back to normal again.

Based on hobbies alone, the first like 5 presidents seem very chill.
15:05 I visited the George W. Bush Library in 2018 and they had a side exhibit tied to First Ladies. On display were Grace Coolidge’s pocket American League schedule and lifetime pass to any AL game she wanted to attend.

mr.beat giving us the important topics! honestly forgot how cool obama was, but teddy roosevelt is still the coolest that fact that he was one of the first well know people to even speak of jiu jitsu in the usa at that time is absolutely legendary.
I wonder if Joe Rogan knows about that fact.
@@iammrbeat not sure, maybe he thinks he spoke with him in a previous dmt experience.
One thing you missed with Eisenhower: He LOVED grilling. Throughout his presidency and afterwards, Ike would often be found at the grill, and even developed his own style of cooking steaks: DIRECTLY on the charcoal (from what I've read, it's because he thought it made them dark and better in flavor).
They forgot to include that.
Nixon casually bowling as he awaits to hear back from the goons he sent to break into the DNC is hilarious 😂
Hey Mr Beat, since you've already made a video on every president's children, the next step is to make one on every president's parents
You'd have to mention John Scott Harrison again
Yeah I definitely plan on this
I always found learning about world leaders' childhoods and family histories fascinating. You get a lot of insight into how they turned out the way they did by learning what their parents were like and how they raised their children.
You should do every president's favorite book, and then when you get to the later presidents, talk about their favorite movies
For Trump, it would be Quiet on the Western Front.
It's already coming in a few months!
@@Dragonite43I would think Trump would prefer home alone 2. After all he's in it!

18:16 Lincoln was into bowling, according to Doris Goodwin. He was also into telling stories and playing pranks.
Madison was Jefferson's true BFF, more than Adams, and Madison was also a big reader, particularly of ancient philosophy and history.
Lincoln liked going to plays and I can relate. Adams was really Jefferson’s bff and rival as this goes to show they have a developed chemistry as friends and rivals. Madison was Jefferson’s second BFF until Jefferson’s death.
7:44 Lincoln was built for wrestling, imagine if WWE/WWF existed back in 1860s he would've make a cameo appearance on the show and wrestle WWE guys
A NEW MR. BEAT VIDEO? YESSSSSS LETS GO!!!
