Absolutely dialed in. Amazing. What a great way to record and mix. I’m currently all in-the-box and have only the ART MPII preamp and an Apollo twin. Baby steps.
Thank you! My recordings are far bette than 20 years ago, but having said that, I did my most successful work with less than you have, except for a single Focusrite ISA430 and a Neumann M147. Not at all the U67. You do have all you need. But if you just invest in one (or a pair) of classic channel strips, you will always be happy with it.
Thanks again for the video. I also watched your Pro Tools video and remembered all the OS update frustrations. Such a good (and otherwise missing) perspective on PT.
Great video Devon, Thank you for taking some time out and explaining what you're using and providing the details of the signal path you use. I will certainly save this video for future refrence. Someone mentioned a patch bay. If you do use a patch bay now or at some point, you might consider the Flock patch bay. Fully recalable digital control of pure analog sognal paths. Cheers!
Sounds great! I basically have everything patched where I want it permanently. I have super easy access to the back of the track, so it's much less an issue than most back-to the wall setups. I have an empty patch bay taking up space. But if I needed one, the one you mention sounds great. Thanks for your comment.
This was an exceptional in depth review of your studio and nice educational material as well. I'm curious what you do in term of reverbs and delays, and how do you hp/lp filter them?
Thank you! For Verbs I high pass somewhere around 200Hz. For delays I do the same, but I also low-pass infill I don't hear the Es and Ts.For delays I usually use the stock PT Stereo Delay followed by a McDSP Tape emulator (or not). For reverbs, my favourite is the TC one they probably don't make anymore. It's from the TC6000 hardware unit, but the HD version. Thanks for your question!
@@devon-graves-studio-D Hey! Thanks for answer. The thing I don't get is what do you filter with? Do you have sucha deep filters on your Mackie, or just in PT?
I have one but I don't use it. The back of my rack is not against a wall like most. I just simply go round back to do any patching and it's nearly as easy, without the additional wire and connection. Also, as I pointed out, I barely ever need to repatch anything. Almost never. It's kind of a set and forget system. I have 32 inputs and outputs to and from Pro Tools, so everything has a home. Thanks for your question!
BAE might be the best Neve stuff out there. Yeah, never got into the 500 series. Not for any real reason other than I like the full channel strips. I had considered getting some SSL eqs for the toms and 500 series seems like the only option. So Maybe in the future.

You are welcome!

Beautiful Setup!! Drooling over you gear! Curious…you don’t use a patch bay? Why?

The title"how i use my analog front End" has a promising sexual connotation to it.
I hear you!
HaHaHaHa!🤣 Glad I didn't say "my back end"
Would you recommend bae for the neve sound? I also notice you don’t use 500 series

Hey, i know its a little off topic, but does anybody know why all the old Psychotic Waltz stuff got taken down from Spotify?
I wonder why musicians are always poor 😅 jealous btw
Yeah, I did this instead of a heroin habit😅
@devon-graves-studio-D I'm not sure which one is more addictive
