- With 100 entries and hundreds of shrimp, the 2017 USA International Shrimp Contest is the the largest freshwater shrimp gathering in the country. Shrimp breeders from around the world flew to the USA to compete with some of the most expensive shrimp. Shrimp are even listed to $8,500!

What is the minimum tank size you recommend for a small breeder community of ghost shrimp? I know bigger is always better but would like to comfortably house some in a relatively small tank. Maybe a 10gal planted tank?

Rob, what is the substrate they use? Is this substrate only for ‘show’ or do these shrimp live in the substrate permanently? (Setting up first (Denerrele 10G) Shrimp tank and need help on (Planted) substrate. Have watched YT (yours included) and researched until I’m totally confused,)

Hey. I just watched a video by aqua pros at the Chicago AE and while filming you in the booth there was a piece of what looked like spider wood on top of the tangerine tiger tank that I just loved. It looks like a dragon. Do you still have that piece and if so. How much ?

Knowing how sensitive shrimp are how do they setup all of these tanks when the shrimp are coming from so many different water parameters?

Quick question, I have red cherry and light blue shrimp together both tips are neocardia David. Almost all of my females have had babies, will the red color show up later in the cherrys? I can already see a blue tint in some. Will they cross breed?
They will cross. they are the same species just different color morphs so they will cross. You're going to end up with a lot of wild type looking shrimp babies but might get some cool color variations also

I was there on Saturday and when I saw that $8,500 little wine goblet all I could think of was when I dropped my full grown female Sakura reds in my tank and my freaking Glofish ATE one. They had no problem breeding and we had hundreds in that tank but a freaking Glofish!

EDIT: My bad, he actually does show the $8500 shrimp (11:26 mark). Thanks to Rebecca Ericson for pointing it out.
@heatherwanderer777 ... unfortunately he never mentions or shows the $8500 dollar shrimp. What I did was turn on closed caption (CC), and used my right arrow to scroll through the video. The only time he mentions anything about price is at around 21:39. The only price he mentions is $600.
@heatherwanderer777 ... the problem with long videos with catchy titles are that (from what I have read) youtubers are paid for the content length of their video as well. The longer viewers stay tuned for their videos the more money they likely make. Keep your viewers guessing without any time stamp is what a lot of youtubers do unfortunately.
