Sound is great at lower volumes, but form 40% and higher its gets kinda harsh. I sold mine and got the sony xv500, which is a bit cheaper, but much better sound, It sounds almost perfect - at all volumes. Better lights also etc. Only downside is the higherr weight
I just got one and thought it got harsh as well. That being said, I'll be keeping mine because I don't turn music up very high and the sound on ult 2 is perfect for me.
For best sound I would recommend the ULT Field 7 100%. It's just ahead of the JBL BB 3 in bass and volume. I don't think the HK go and play 3 should even be on the list.
Hello Hammooo! I Want to buy the JBL boombox 3 but idk if i should get it or this. I already have 2 partyboxes which take up quite some room and this thing is kinda large so idk. 😂😂😂 Ive heard some rumors saying this speaker is better than the BB3
@@666Lachrimae666 I haven’t had this and the BB3 in the same room together yet. But my gut is telling me this is a slightly stronger speaker, louder for sure and I think the bass is heavier. But yes it is a large speaker and a little awkward
It’s been a good couple years since I’ve had my hands on a Hyperboom. From memory, and from looking at specs, I imagine the sound quality on both are very similar. However, the Field 7 will have the edge in volume and bass purely due to size.
@@stevehabig9225 They’re kinda in different categories. The Field 7 is a portable speaker and the JBL 120 is a PartyBox. So obviously the JBL is louder, bassier and the drivers are bigger so the frequency range will be wider. The downsides are that it is not as portable, and the build quality is relatively cheap.
Sony states 20Hz-20kHz on literally every single speaker they make, including their tiny XB100. It's obvious they are full of it. But you can't tell they are outright lying because they aren't showing dB numbers on the frequency response unlike JBL. So ''technically'' speaking they can reach 20Hz, doesn't matter if it's at -40 dB and it's so weak you won't even hear it. JBL on the other hand, if they are stating 50Hz-20kHz (-6dB) it means that it plays up to 50Hz at full power. Although it still plays 27Hz at -22dB. Concluding, yes Boombox 3 has deeper bass and relying on official frequency response given by Sony is pointless.
I can't always have every speaker ready to compare at the right time, as that would require keeping thousands of £s worth of speakers just lying around. So, a certain amount of memory has to come into it, obviously guided by the specification.

Thanx for the review but out of the ult field 7, jbl boomx 3 and harman kardon go plus play 3, which one would u recommend for best sound

Okay thanks
Can you switch the lights off please
@@stevendavies3379 yes there is a button under the flap on the back for that
@@HammoTechReviews thank you very much for your reply, i want a speaker just for the house, do you recommend the Sony or the go play 3 please.

@@HammoTechReviews Sounds like a good video idea Hammo 💡 do a battle between them so we can know for sure 😄 😎
Wait for the JBL BOOMBOX 4! It’s releasing later this year and should be compatible with party box partyboost
Sony set the stage with the ULT F 7, but JBL should be releasing something equally as well
Sir, is the new ULT FIELD 7 better than XV 800 I mean in sound, bass or similar?
I asked you because I own the XV 800
No definitely not, you can't compare party speakers to portable ones. The XV800 will be louder and have heavier bass
@@HammoTechReviews Thank you Sir
God bless 🙌
How does it compare to the UE Hyperboom?

It sounds great imho
Why does not anybody talks about the fact that WE DON'T KNOW THE WATTAGE of this speaker?
Cause who cares? If it sounds good it sounds good 😁
🙄...yeah
True important too
How many watts sony ult field 7??
Don't bother asking, I'm tired to ask, nobody knows
Decen que 180 rms
Bb3 goes deeper than sony. There's no way sony reach 20 hz. I have sony xg500 and the bass drops after 42-40hz even if is specified 20hz 20khz
that's just like xv800. and i bet xv900 same too

Every review I've seen says the opposite. If you roll with jbl that's all good, don't worry if ppl like different stuff; it's not a competition.
How is he comparing without having the Boombox on the side?

how does ULT 7 compare to harman kardon go play 3?
It’s much better. Stronger bass, wider sound stage and higher volume
@@HammoTechReviews does it has e balance frequancy response like go play 3 ? Because jbl is not as good as go play 3 frequency wise
Sony the best
I would like the name of the music, I would test it on my Sony speaker when I bought it.
Details in the video description
Could I have I plugged into the mains please.
Yes, it will likely get a boost in power when doing so as well.
@@HammoTechReviews ime very interested in this speaker, you give very good advice, thank you.
The Sony doesn't live up to the Jbl, sound wise and design!
hmm have you heard both in the same room?
Bb3 cost 329€😂
Bargain, you can't get them for that here 😭
