CALLCUP HILL VS UNIMOG - This truck Served in the military!

I don't think this has ever been done before.
On today's adventure we set out with the convoy to tackle one of the most insane tracks in the south west of australia. The Infamous callcup sand dune. We took the UNIMOG down thinking there would be two ways to get out if needed. We quickly realised this wasn't the case and things started to get serious.

Why didn't you boys drop the unimogs tires down even further? 40 psi is way too much even 20 is too much

We ended up going to 20. UNIMOG sits at 90 psi on road so this is a significant drop. Not like cars!

@@jamievogler We drop our tyre pressure on our U1250 down to 10 PSI on the stock rims, just don't make any sudden turns. We can go even lower now we have proper beadlock wheels. Pressure is pressure, the sand doesn't care what you run on the road or how heavy the truck is. Our truck weighs 8 tons.

After operating Unimogs in the Military I can unequivocally confirm that this vehicle is far more capable than demonstrated in this video, any lack of ability displayed in this video is operator error.

If you’d had the 105 pulling the Unimog with a bungee rope, the mog would have been a full gear higher and got a lot further before needing to winch.
The mog should also have a ground anchor at its disposal and should use low ground pressure tyres if it’s going to operate on sand. You get nice three piece tubeless mog rims that could be well worth a look. I used to run them with Russian Kama tyres designed for CTIS and they’re good to half a bar of pressure.

Nice work getting the MOG up that dune, not easy getting a stock mog to do much of anything 😝 Would love to give it a crack in out Mog.. has a few mods to increase our chances 😎

If it had the right operator and correct tyre pressures it would have done it I believe.
