    Hot damn, finally it's up for pre order, I know I'll be upgrading to this! I get so many people from my channel asking me which dashcam I currently have (vicovation opia 2) and where I bought it.

    With the increased 4K video file sizes, 256GB max storage capacity would’ve been nice.
    I wish they would do away with the gold trim around the lens frame.
    Any progress updates on the Live Event Auto Upload?

    • @BlackVueOfficial
      @BlackVueOfficial 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi, we are working on sourcing 256GB cards. We might add them in the future. In the meantime, HEVC (H.265) allows to keep things manageable (Extreme mode is 25Mbps either in H.264 or H.265). Live Auto-Upload is available from the app. Event File Auto-Upload is still under development. Scheduled to come first to DR900S, then DR750S. Thank you.

      Hi, yes, it has all the Cloud features available in the DR750S Series. It also introduces Sub-Stream technology, which allows you to view Quick Play versions of the videos saved in parallel to the original files, for faster playback over direct Wi-Fi or through the Cloud. It will come to DR750S Series as well later on.

    The is way too much reflection on these front and back camera, we almost loose 1/3 of the picture while intriducing noise even in the center pf the picture really hard to see the license plate number...

    for a 4k Camera, license plates are not any more clear to read. Infact I can make out license plates better on some 1080p footage

    • @CallMeFil
      @CallMeFil 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@moogs It is true about compression. But the thing is they didn't upload it 4K, otherwise it would have an option to display it in 4k. We are seeing compressed 1080 video on youtube of an original 4k clip. And I agree the plates are hard to see...Doesn't look superior in clarity.

    When are they going to come out with a 4 channel model? I guess you would need to buy 2 and set one main camera front and the other to the rear. Also would you need to buy 2 batteries-one for each unit?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Richard,
      That would be correct, 2x 2-Channels would give you that full 360-degree coverage.
      At this time, Blackvue has not released any information regarding a 4-Channel Setup.

    Can the SR900 articulate or turn around to point to me and the drivers window in the case of a police action...? If so, how? It would be cool to catch such things on tape. Not that it happens all the time. but...

      The DR900S does have the ability to spin 360 on its mount.

    @Blackboxmycar - any chance this pre-order bundle will be available on Amazon? I'd like to attach an extended warranty with the purchase. 6 months just isnt enough time to see if capacitor fails. My last two dr490 and dr590 capacitors failed around month 16 and month 18.

      BlackboxMyCar Thanks for the reply! I was wondering if the F800 Pro comes with it's own version of the Blackvue Power Magic Pro or am I limited to a standard hardwiring kit and or battery pack? Also, if I were to get a battery pack would I be able to use the battery pack in addition with my car's battery for either the F800 Pro or DR750S? For example: I would use my cars battery for driving but the battery pack for parking mode? Thanks in advance.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nob1e Hunter - the Thinkware F800 Pro's hardwire kit does not have a name and its voltage cutoff settings are in the unit itself (set through the desktop program/smartphone app). The batteries are meant to stop charging from the vehicle's battery when the vehicle is off by connecting to an ignition-switched fuse - if you connect to a constant fuse, the battery will not have voltage cutoff, meaning it will drain the vehicle's battery until it dies.

    I currently own the DR750S-2CH.if I wanted to upgrade is it possible that I can just purchase the DR900S-1CH to swap out my front camera and it will work with my current rear camera?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rear cameras would be compatible between the two, but you need the front-only of a 2CH variant (since the 1CH lacks a rear camera coaxial cable port). We wouldn't be able to sell this as they come in pairs from BlackVue.

      Any camera will be negatively impacted by tint that dark. Typically, 15% or darker will be noticeably impacted during night time, but the DR900S' rear camera is still one of the best in the market.

    I can't decide if I want to buy this or the ThinkWare 800 Pro. I'm a truck driver so I'd like something to be constantly running while I'm sleeping at night and to do this I need a camera that has excellent performance at night. From the night time videos I've seen with headlights off I'm leaning more towards the ThinkWare 800 Pro but I don't really have a use for 2 cameras and I don't know how to hardwire it to my truck. Also, I drive company side and would need a more portable option.
    There is one thing I really like about the blackvue and it's the Power Magic Ultra Battery B-124 which would solve my hard wiring problems as I need to be able to move from truck to truck if mine breaks down. This would offer me the ability to run my camera for 24 hours off the backup battery which will be perfect for when I'm sleeping. My only thing holding me back from the blackvue is will it catch idiots in the truck stops backing into me or other trucks or worse someone up to no good at night?
    That being said I really do like this BlackVue. What's your opinion BlackBoxMyCar?

  • @antonyhoch

      If I could add something, it would be the fact that none license plate whatsoever was readable in this clip. Which is weird because BlackVue said 4K gives a better edge to recognize/read license plates.. Or is it all blurred in this video?

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the feedback. Do note that TH-cam compression shows worse video quality than the actual raw video files. Further, you won't be able to find other dashcams with better video quality that has the same other features as the DR900S, such as: Cloud, buffered parking-mode recording, Wifi/smartphone app integration, etc.

    Hello, I have the DR900 and was curious your thoughts on 4K vs 4K extreme. Standard 4K lets me save 3 min videos which I like, vs 4K extreme which only allows 1 min video clips. What are your thoughts regarding 4K vs 4K extreme? Will you notice that much difference? Thanks so much.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there,
      The difference would be the bitrate in the quality.
      We like extreme as it shows a bit more per pixel.
      However, many customers like the lengthier video clips that the Standard 4K allows.

  • @HH-xs2gm
    @HH-xs2gm 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    For that kind of price, I would of expected a camera that at least match up to the phone cameras of flagship phones.
    I am better off paying 50 dollars for a Yi dashcam in a slimmer and smaller form factor to capture HD or 2k.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there,
      Thanks for the comment.
      That is true, there are cameras that can capture higher quality images.
      However, those cameras won't have the bells and whistles of the parking mode cameras.
      These features include buffered parking mode as well as partitioned memory.
      Which is why we recommend these parking mode cameras instead!

  • @Pentelicus
    @Pentelicus 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The main reason I would want 4K is to read license plates, such as in a hit-and-run situation. Regular HD is good enough to record how an accident happened and the color of the traffic light. I hope that you can address the license plate readability issue (in both daylight and at night) in your in-depth review.

    • @blackboxmycar
      @blackboxmycar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback! It's all about vehicle speed of travel that's the issue for license plate legibility. We will go into more detail on this in future reviews.
