I think it works the other way around.. Shea designs all pieces as her own and they're so good that she can then convert them into a successful business ❤ If Shea could, she'd probably use ALL her furniture in her house 😁
Thank you for mentioning the artist of the beautiful abstract painting! I also noticed this when you were talking about the painting in your living room. As artists we go unmentioned a lot (as probably do contractors, architects etc.) so I bet these people really appreciate that you always make a point of crediting them 🖤!
I love that you are leaning into traditional more ! It makes your spaces softer and elegant . Love blending old with new. Shea you are such an amazing designer❤
indeed! There's something about an 'elevated traditional' look that cannot be topped, in my opinion. It's a style that speaks 'classic & family' more than any other style. Especially when raising a family, lean into the 'cozy' factor. All of her upgrades - the pantry is a knockout! - are that special cherry on top piece that was missing.
The new bed head was absolutely the right choice! Adds a real depth and richness to the space. And I also just adore the wings in the great room and how it defines the two spaces. A subtle yet hugely impactful addition
I love the colors you chose! It is good you rotate your items around and play around with them in other rooms from time to time to give a refreshing space for it.
Absolutely beautiful! I love that new headboard, the armoire, the vintage rug, but my heart goes to that tapestry! My goodness! I’ve also looked at them throughout the years, but definitely can’t afford one. I love these changes, Shea! I love the English feel of your home. I’m obsessed with English country, cottage decor (especially Cotswold homes) and you have that traditional feel sprinkled throughout your home. I’m in love. ❤
This bedroom refresh is heartwarming, cozy, beautiful and rich! Yummy! That rug needs to be in my life! 🙏🏻 please recreate and share with us commoners 😄 ❤❤❤ stunning as always Shea!✨
This was a great class in bringing touches of traditional into a contemporary home. I soaked it up! Just shows what a great designer you are, Shea, that you can play with the two styles at once, and pull them from the front door and throughout your beautiful home, with antiques and your own designs as well! You just keep going from strength to strength with fabulous synergy, all while being a young wife and mother. Remarkable.
To the McGee family love you your designs and your my reason I studied design I wish you all love happiness keep making the world beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤Dave x
I adore everything you design Shea, my fave spaces in this refurb are the dining rm & Pantry. They have bags of character & the wallpaper brings some warmth & charm against the stark white elsewhere. My own Utility Rm isnt unlike your Pantry, dark n moody with the warmth & character. Would you consider warming up the wall colors throughout with wallpaper and/or deeper, more contrasting neutral shades? It would add more depth & separation to the open plan spaces & high ceilings. Just an observation Shea, not criticism😘 x
That brown bed frame would pop even more with a light blue paint on the wall behind it. Then add some teal green maybe on the pillows. Would definitely create eclectic modern cottage vibes. Funny, because I also started with mid-century modern items and furniture when I first got my house and then now it's slowly becoming modern cottage. I love evolving styles and really creating spaces that spark joy to the homeowner. 😊
the brown headboard adds a touch of gravitas to the room, in fact, the room could stand a bit more texture and/or color. Too much light color looks 'lightweight' (no pun intended) and frankly, in a bedroom, the dark brown adds that something needed to lean a bit 'masculine'.
Thank you for going with the dark headboard and nightstands!! I have had my dark bedroom furniture for 48 years and wanted to lighten it up for the last 6 years but couldn’t find the right color. I also have cream colored bedding with contrasts in pillows and art work. You now have affirmed my decision to keep the dark furniture and bedding, maybe I could refresh with a large piece of furniture like your armoire in a different color. My bedroom is huge and could easily handle a large piece in a lighter color and maybe vary up my deco pillows and lamp shades👍 Thank you for your wonderful videos, you are a spectacular speaker, always speak so smoothly and never at a loss for your words, such a pleasure and Fun and Inspiring!!
I am obsesseddddd with that tapestry! 🤩 I have a ginormous blank wall on my staircase and I always thought a tapestry would look stunning there. Maybe in 14 years I can afford one 😅😫
The tapestry is absolutely beautiful !! … but just a word of warning … where you have placed it on the wall very close to the very large window … l can guarantee ( sadly ) from experience it will fade very very quickly from the harsh light … it has lasted such a long time because when it was made houses had tiny tiny windows and where in effect dark rooms with candle light at night … the dyes that were used were primitive and not like the dyes now … anyhoo just a thought … it looks beautiful and enjoy it in your space 😊😊
I love the Phillipa settee at the end of the bed but it only comes in a 68” width. It’s too wide for the end of a queen bed (60”) and it does not line up well with a king size bed (76”). Do you plan on creating a small version (58-60”)? Thank you in advance for your response.
Shea, bring back the rectangular pillows in addition with you new dark pillows in the nook seating… it will look so much more moody and cozy. Maybe even bring the sconces and little black vase back as well. The more moody the better in an area like that
Big fan of all your team’s work to date. The additions to the LR to make it a more defined space is a very nice. Can you elaborate on the plaster on FP as hard to tell in the photos or video the change. I appreciate that when this is your business it must be tempting to want a change and incorporate all the latest and lovely styling you do in your clients home to your own home, but but honestly I prefer the previous style of the primary bedroom and dining room. They were calming and sophisticated in their simplicity, sorry but now some of the spaces seem busy and overdone.
Shea, j,dore thé tapestry, but I think it would hang better if you can find a really interesting rod, then use curtain clip type things to hang from the rod. Also, I live in France and we have soooooo many beautiful antiques. If you ever need something French I would be happy to look for it.
Darn .. your making me wait to see more! Love your refresh. Looks fantastic! I too love fringe and tapestries, and yes, you can never go wrong! ❤ Maybe I can move in next door 😉
I try to learn design rules for my own home and thought that the size of art over a dresser should NOT be longer than the dresser as it is here. Does anyone know if this is true? I was surprised her art was longer than her dresser. It doesn’t look right.
Beautifil! □ Either the picture above the bed OR the sconces, but NOT BOTH as it just looks too Cluttery. □ Lighter Headboard & Night stands would create a more eye pleasing flow.
I like most things you do but that ”settee, as you referred to it , looks awkward at the end of your bed. Yes it is an adorable piece of furniture. I’m like you I like the fabric. I like the fringe. I like the cushion the way it is designed, but that just looks awkward in that bedroom even though the bedroom is big. that’s my two cents method. You asked for it. And I totally get that.
Love the tapestry. I just moved from Calgary, Canada to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I purchased my tapestry in London, UK probably 16 years ago and for the first time have hung it on the wall in my Mexico home. Funny how we sometimes roll things up and then forget we have them .
Love the bedroom, except the bed looks heavy in the room. I like the bed, just not in that room. It would look great in a darker moodier room. As for the nook at the top of the stairs…fabulous.
I love this new look, however that piece at the end of the bed looks out of place, in my opinion. Too large and kind of an odd shape as a footer. I think the bench you had prior, would have worked just fine, and probably much more stylish and elevated than this.
Definitely an improvement from the iteration. It's lovely and elegant but still a little blah, but as you say the bedroom is all about the personal preferences.
I think a little wallpaper such as a nice fabric weave or a tone on tone wallcovering, or perhaps a grasscloth in a pale tone would 'finish' off her primary bedroom and add that missing something that you can't put your finger on. It would still have an elegance and simplicity, and in a way it would be something that's hardly noticed, yet impactful, but for right now the walls look flat and a bit 'cold'.
I loved what you did. It adds warmth and coziness. You have great spaces to play around and a neutral palette in a big house like yours seemed naaah. Kind of boring. Deep tones mixed with neutrals make it more personal, detail oriented. The previous design was pretty, simple, ordinary. I am not talking from a place of financial abundance, I am talking from a place of earthiness, chocolatetiness, spiciness 😂 and a little edge of sophistication. Which is fantastic. I would like to s we your house at night either those beautiful lamps switch on
I love the velvet, chocolate, brown bed. It is absolutely stunning.
Thank you!
I like that you actually use the products you design in your own home. Refresh is beautiful. Your bedroom looks more cozy now than before.
Thank you!
I think it works the other way around.. Shea designs all pieces as her own and they're so good that she can then convert them into a successful business ❤ If Shea could, she'd probably use ALL her furniture in her house 😁
I think I might be weird cos I love the old bedroom and dinning room more!
I like all of her before better. No, you're not weird it's just we have different taste.
My FAVORITE space is the upper hallway with the one of a kind tapestry and that rich brown velvet chair. SO textural and lovely.
It’s a favorite over here, too!
Thank you for mentioning the artist of the beautiful abstract painting! I also noticed this when you were talking about the painting in your living room. As artists we go unmentioned a lot (as probably do contractors, architects etc.) so I bet these people really appreciate that you always make a point of crediting them 🖤!

Love love LOVE the brown velvet
❤️
I love how proud you are of your vintage finds. The right unique piece is typically the best item in the room!
Glad you created a space you love. With so many opinions out there its important to select pieces that make you happy. Good lesson for us all!
I love the way Shea looks here. I love the dresses she usually wears but this contemporary look looks great too. Her eyes just pop.
She is really pretty.
I love the colors you chose! It is good you rotate your items around and play around with them in other rooms from time to time to give a refreshing space for it.
😘😘
The settee is a nice touch and I can see it being be used for a kiddo to sleep on instead of climbing into the bed
Surprisingly modest sized master given the scale of the rest of your house.
Lovely!
Absolutely beautiful! I love that new headboard, the armoire, the vintage rug, but my heart goes to that tapestry! My goodness! That tapestry is stunning 🌟
🥰
The chocolate headboard is awesome. Fits perfectly in your design!🥰🌟

Absolutely beautiful. I love that headboard and very happy to see more browns.
Figured out why i like your stylings; you’re a master at creating vibes!
I actually like the way your bedroom was before.😊

I love the bed and the sconces above it. And I really love how you use lumbar pillows. You have such beautiful eyes❤
Thank you!! 😊
It’s really beautiful, tasteful and exquisite! Love the new color of the bed and how second floor loft area has changed for the better!!
Thank you for such kind words!
I admire your effort and vision for the remodel of your home ❤ The more traditional finish also speaks to me ❤
Thank you!

The brown headboard is very harsh. Rug is glorious.

I LOVED the new bed and ALL the changes you have made in your house! I’m a fan!
Me encanta tu decoración, he visto tu serie en Netflix como tres veces❤
Por favor mas temporadas y subtítulos a tus videos
Un abrazo
Gorgeous changes, it’s great to see how it was before as you’re walking us through it. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes I've always hated the benches by the bed and wondered if there's something else. Now i know i need the seete
We love it!!
Another wonderful refresh. Love the mix of traditional/vintage and modern.
Thanks so much!
I love the nook area and that tapestry WOW!!
Love love love the new bed! Looks so much richer than before
We love it too ❤️❤️
I love how adding a few new pieces brings so much interest to the room ❤️ Where is the rug from? I am obsessed 🤩
Thank you! It is vintage 😘

Love the color of the headboard! I would bring more of it into the space ❤❤
Love ,love, love that headboard such a statement piece and what you did in the upstairs nook area ,that tapestry was worth the hunt ,thanks for sharing
Thank you! 🥰
So gorgeous. Lusting for that fringed settee. Side note, I just installed the Selby bed in Praline in my clients primary bedroom. It's fabulous!
So glad to hear that! Thank you 🥰
BEAUTIFUL refresh!

I am obsesseddddd with that tapestry! 🤩 I have a ginormous blank wall on my staircase and I always thought a tapestry would look stunning there. Maybe in 14 years I can afford one 😅😫

Love all of it. I like the colour of your headboard it definitely works with the rug. Love the antique finds too 😊
Thank you!
Pretty please, please show us inside of the antique cupboard 😬😬😬 love seeing real life mess! So relatable!
That tapestry giving me my Russian grandma house kinda vibes! As always well styled Shea!
Love the sconces above the bed, never seen them used in that way before.
❤

Waiting for your next episodes on Netflix! Love them!
We don’t have plans for another season on Netflix but are excited about the new content coming to our TH-cam channel! ❤
That tapestry is amazing!! 💕
Love the new look but the old one was great too. 🥰Can you share where you got the vintage rug, thank you
Looks Cozy. Where did you get your 6 dining room chairs. Dining room also turned out great.
I love the Phillipa settee at the end of the bed but it only comes in a 68” width. It’s too wide for the end of a queen bed (60”) and it does not line up well with a king size bed (76”). Do you plan on creating a small version (58-60”)? Thank you in advance for your response.
The new styling is nice, but I actually prefer the old primary bedroom. It was less busy with less contrast and felt more serene.
My cat would love the tassles! 😂. Seriously though, beautiful room! That rug is to die for! Love those sconces and the settee!
Love the new dresser.. simply gorgeous 🥰
Can you share the total floor area of your bedroom, as in how many sq ft?
Shea, bring back the rectangular pillows in addition with you new dark pillows in the nook seating… it will look so much more moody and cozy. Maybe even bring the sconces and little black vase back as well. The more moody the better in an area like that
With the remodel, did you change the interior paint colors?
Inspired every single time!
😘🥰
Love your lighting furniture and lighting fixtures ! ❤️🇨🇦
We really need a link to your bedding that’s shown, so beautiful!

Darn .. your making me wait to see more! Love your refresh. Looks fantastic! I too love fringe and tapestries, and yes, you can never go wrong! ❤ Maybe I can move in next door 😉
Thanks so much! 😊
is your linen piece at the end of your bed available online?
Yes! It's the Philippa Settee from @mcgeeandco! ❤️
I try to learn design rules for my own home and thought that the size of art over a dresser should NOT be longer than the dresser as it is here. Does anyone know if this is true? I was surprised her art was longer than her dresser. It doesn’t look right.
Loved the before ❤
Love everything!
Thank you!
What are your window sizes in your master please! Width height and height from the floor ! 🙏
I might have missed it…wall color??? The bedroom looks so peaceful 😊
Shea where’d your curtains come from in your bedroom
Nice Master Bedroom ❤
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
Love this look but the black lamp on the dresser seems visually out of place. I love the lamps on nightstands wow!
Beautifil!

Interesting - although it’s weird that there’s 3 lamps in the room. I’ve done that in my living room Love it 🤍🤎
I like the room because it is not dominated with a lot of color.
Are they MGee & Co ?
McGee & Co. is our retail business with pieces we design 😘
You change everything to more elegant ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I luv it soooooooooooooooooooooooooomuccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccchhhhh
I like the previous bedroom look better.
A setee looks beautiful but isn't it unpractical when you make your bed every day?
Love the bedroom, except the bed looks heavy in the room. I like the bed, just not in that room. It would look great in a darker moodier room.
As for the nook at the top of the stairs…fabulous.
I love this new look, however that piece at the end of the bed looks out of place, in my opinion. Too large and kind of an odd shape as a footer. I think the bench you had prior, would have worked just fine, and probably much more stylish and elevated than this.
Put the long cushion back to go with black cushions.
Definitely an improvement from the iteration. It's lovely and elegant but still a little blah, but as you say the bedroom is all about the personal preferences.
Blah? Hardly...

Stairway rail looks so simple compare to rest of updates

I like the way you re imagined the master bedroom. The only thing I thought was your fringe was skinny and looked cheap .. you can do better 😮
Wow....
you mean the settee fringe, right? I also thought it looked like it was bought on aliexpress
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
