    I would love to do this with my friends once my horse is trained to ride English and jump. He’s only 3 years and still a stallion but we’re gonna geld him then train him. It’s probably gonna take like a year or two

    OMG those people were so rude! Who do they think they are?! A girl did that to me and my horse once and I deliberately got in her way so she couldn’t speed past 😂 she was so mad! They think they’re better then everyone else in their tweed jackets but guess what ... your not! 😂😂

    • @sophiecottier756
      @sophiecottier756 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Actually they had every right to pass. On a course if the team behind catches up you have to give way. However it is not meant to be before or straight after a jump, but if you have refused you should let them pass but they are also meant to yell out to you as a heads up.

      I do agree the way the other team approached it was rude and could have done it a better way.

      Eventing Equii yeah it’s all for safety and what the other team did was quite dangerous, they should have had some sort of penalty for it

    If you're riding on any cross country course and something causes you to slow down enough for the following rider or team to catch up with you, then by the rules you MUST give way to them and allow them to pass you.
    When a competition is timed, why should the riders behind you be forced to wait and lose time when one or more of your team has horses constantly refusing jumps ?
    Eventually your horses will gain enough experience to jump those fences without any problems, then you will be the ones passing novices

      I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this comment. lol. We let them pass. And this was the one fence my horse, who is usually the lead, refused. He didn't like that he slid on the initial attempt and I don't fault him for that. It would have been nice if the other riders slowed on their approach and let us know they wanted to pass. This event is for optimum time. It's not a race.

    The palamino needs more schooling! I wouldn't be taking a green horse out on trails like this think it's irresponsible 😑

    • @amarisclark6216
      @amarisclark6216 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Maybe so, but this is just a way for the horse to learn. I'm sure they wouldn't take the horse on trails like this if they didn't think that the horse could handle it. It is also nice to take into consideration that its not your horse. sorry if I sounded rude! I just couldn't help but share my opinion on the matter :)

    • @buckleyboy9568
      @buckleyboy9568 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mary James that is true that's not my horse thankfully. But I find it irresponsible to take a nervous and seems to me to be uneducated out on a trial ride. I'm from the UK we have places that you can hire to educate the horse. You wouldn't take a horse in a dressage test nor round a xc course. Well I certainly wouldn't 😂😂😂

      Some people might not have the money to hire someone else to train their horse. Neither you nor I know what these people's lives are like. Maybe they like training their own horses, maybe they can't afford someone to train their horses, or maybe they have lots of money and just don't want to train their horse the same way that other people normally would. The horse may have been nervous just because it was a new place and didn't know where to go, and there were lots of slippy areas that the horse might not have liked. Again i don't mean to sound rude.

    • @buckleyboy9568
      @buckleyboy9568 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nila Queenie i never said someone else train your horses. I don't believe in that in the UK we can hire a xc course and school ourselves. Yeah I see the ground is slippy my horses are barefoot so don't have that problem they slip less with out shoes etc. Again in the UK we have sponsored rides which are like these trail rides in my experience they have a root for babys nervous horses and riders so they don't get in the way of the other horses and don't have extra pressure that people are catching up etc. But I'm not American and clearly it's just different standards of what you would expect😂😂

      Sorry for thinking that you meant someone else train your horse, I don't believe in that either. I've never heard of hiring an XC course though. Maybe there are some places that do that here in the U.S. and I've just never heard about it.That sounds like a very nice thing to have though.
