When I use to event, I'd have conversations with my horse too. I think no matter how good you are, or how long you've been eventing, cross country scares the shit out of all of us.

It was great that you only used the crop when you knew it was nesasairy. Don’t normally comment but felt I had too

Your ride followed mine in the video pool so I had to watch. I enjoyed riding along on the same basic course I did, but two levels above. Almost makes me feel one day O can do that as well. What captured my attention was that you talk to your partner like I do and you count. that was a great ride...thank you, (Sterling Silver, Novice Masters Ammie)

TwoBlondeEquestrians So that was over six minutes of galloping and the horse gets hot so the first priority after cross country is to cool them down with water and ice so the saddle/tack and boots need to be removed ASAP so heat can leave the horses body even before they make it to the cooling station. Quantico actually had trouble sweating the weeks before that competition so it was even more important to get his temperature down as soon as possible after cross country since his own body was working against him.
nice horse I wish I have one that will listen to me as I have two that don't munchkin is retired but I still love him he used to go fast but now he doesn't as I don't ride him as much but benji is just a superstar when he wants to be as I do paires with my best fried and we both love it and we work together xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Look i have no hate at all but all i am saying is that horses are quiet animals and counting the strides up to the jump makes them lose concentration and might help you but not the pony but in this case this horse is very good and focused which not many are and again i have no hate and in my opinion its ok saying woah and clicking and good boy where there is no jump. But yeah that is all my opinion so no hate coments to this pls.......
I tell non horse I show jump and they think it's terrifying. I think it's nothing.. compared to cross-country in eventing.. I get anxiety watching these😂😂
