Mine does all these things but when I put the tray on it won't move forward?

One thing to check is the big round metal plate on the bottom of the tray. If the plate (which stays stationary as the tray rotates on the projector) needs to be positioned with the slot (that lets a slide fall into the projector) squarely under the "0" position on the tray. It should be "clicked into place" and not able to spin freely. If that's not the problem let me know.
