What was kinda unexpected and fun in a weird way for me was when one of the girls charged at the Mega Tonberry only to get one-shot by a knife strike LOL
i know a better way to beat it. just equip one girl with speed bracer and adamantite. you need to get their defense up and use lots of x potions. thats how i beat it
I only wanted his Oversoul version so this is what I did: go back to the beginning of Via Infinito, keep track of defeating at least 15 Tonberry, went back to the Airship, did the virtual battle with Mega Tonberry and see if it Oversouled. Once it did I escaped and it still recorded it on Shinra’s bestiary.
If you had stayed with the gunmage dressphere and let him hit you with cry in the night you’d have gotten a blue bullet thankfully a fully part KO in simulator doesn’t count as a game over
You can also use the Random Reels ability from the Lady Luck Dressphere. The point is to line up three "7"s. Doing so will give you a LOT of Gil, cause the enemy to leave the battle, as well as give itens to the party. The girls will get the same EXP, Gil and Drops as if the enemy had been beaten normally. :)
@@BlueGuise9 Lady Luck is good to bypass some "wall" monsters, like Mega Tonberry and some superbosses. It is good if one does not want to go through the trouble of collecting strong itens to set up a good party. You can Bribe monsters so they will go away (much faster than getting 3 "7"s in Random Reels. Depending on which monster you Bribe, they will leave some itens).
For anyone stumbling across this video like I have even more so that this game is on gamepass at the moment. Just equip accessories that boost defense stat to 255 or atleast close too and speed like auto haste. Then use rikku to constanly Throw heals with her alchemist, I did the battle with ease with two dark knights spamming darkness and only had to use a couple Phoenix downs I was level 85 though if that really matters.
@@carnivalcadaver69 hated it honestly, but it became real simple at level 99 with mastered mascot dresspheres on all characters, simply just kept attacking and using yuna’s moogle cure. Died in a few minutes.
@@FallenTrend33 late but I liked putting 2 champion belts on all girls in mascot and equipping them with valiant Lustre GG for a passive defense and magic defense increase of 20 but you can go through all the nodes to increase it even more by like 20 per node I think. This GG really helped me get through a lot of hard stuff without sacrificing much strength so the fights were still pretty short
Man this is the only dungeon I dread because of how easy it is to get ko'd . Of course that's only if you're just using the girls and not a monster team.
mega tonberry in ffx2 is a very dangerous enemy it can kill party even at lv 99. the best strategy is to equip 2 members a mascot or dark knight dressphere plus defense boosts, the third member a critical gunner equipped with a cat nip with first strike ability. up0n starting the battle the critical gunner must fire trigger happy to the enemy does 9999 each hit up to 16 times and mega tonberry dead in seconds
What was the item that gave you each hit was 9999 when below half health? Anyway I just used that with the gunner dress and one shot these guys all time. Made it easy hitting 99.

I've never beat this guy. I just gave up back in 2011 lol 🤣 but when I get my hands on this game again ill be playing it thoroughly

Tried that. The problem is you will never get a turn. Like…ever. Seriously at 1 agility, the ATB gauge just…freezes
