    So my Dji mini three pro is 249g would it still be smart to register it? And in my state law, I am legally not allowed to go over 120 meters and in my opinion, you can get a lot better footage when you are higher up so if I register it would I be allowed to go over 120 m?

      For 249g you don't have to register at all. And the limit is 400 ft or 120m regardless. But I think if you have a license and request clearance, you might be able to go higher

    If I initially register for recreational and then down the road switch to part 107 can I just transfer from the recreational account to a part 107 account, or do I need to register and pay another $5?

    I have an Air 3 and I don't find in the RC 2 the Remote ID SN under About.

      If you can't find it under About, I would contact customer support. Or make sure that that the software is updated to the latest version and see if that helps!

    Can I use the same code for multiple drones (flying recreational)?

    Thank you for taking the mystery out of this requirement. ... When it comes to registration requirements, please clarify: Is it "above 0.55 lbs" or is "0.55 lbs AND above"? I've heard it both ways and it leaves me confused as to what happens when the drone is exactly 0.55 lbs. Thank you.

      Glad you found it helpful! It is "above 0.55lbs"

      @@uavcoach I recently reviewed an April 2024 article on UAV Coach's website entitled "Remote ID Has Arrived-Here’s Everything You Need to Know." In that article, the very first sentence says: "The FAA’s Remote ID rule is in effect for all drone operations for any drone that weighs .55 to 55 pounds." I know it's not the very same application of the rule I questioned in the original post for this video - one's for registration requirements and the other is for Remote ID requirements. But it seems that the weight of the UAV is the primary criteria for both. The article I just mentioned says ".55 to 55 pounds" - including .55 pounds. Your previous answer regarding registration requirements was "above 0.55lbs." Again, I'm confused. Is it ".55 lbs and above" or "above .55 lbs," which is to say not including .55 lbs?

    I did all of what you said in the past. The issue I’m having is, the FAA Drone Zone site where you register all drones does not allow me to enter any of the serial numbers to my drones. FAA has not contacted me on this issue. I’m almost inclined to go to or call the very local FAA office where I live to see if they can resolve the issue. Any suggestions that you may have, lay it on me. It’s a bit frustrating to have an account with Drone Zone and not have all the information completed.

      If you’re a recreational flyer you don’t have to register the drones, it’s an FAA number assigned to you the operator. But you still have to display that number on all your drones, and have it available with you if someone asks for it.

      I'm not sure about that issue - I would contact the FAA to see if it's something on their end.

      As long as the drone is under 250g it doesn’t need to be registered in the US. Posting to TH-cam is tricky. If you make money or even YT makes money with ads from your videos you probably need to get your part 107 pilot license.

      If you are flying recreationally, and your drone is under 250g, you do not need to register your drone.

    HELLO.....first it's .55lb then you say over 55lbs.....that is a lot of difference

    • @uavcoach
      @uavcoach  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you are a recreational pilot, meaning you’re just flying for fun, and your drone weighs less than 0.55 lbs or 250g, you do NOT need to register the drone.
      However, if it does weigh more than that or you are flying for commercial purposes, you need to register it. If your drone happens to weigh 55 lbs or more, you will need to complete a separate registration process.
