i really like this kind of video where native english speakers talk to each other naturally and not trying to adjust the language being used to suit learners. please make more of these!

If you haven't put the subtitules I woudn’t have understood everything but I’d have understood most of the conversation. Anyway, I would say that it’s always more difficult to understand an audio that a video (even without subtitules). The gestures are everything in a conversation. Great video 🤩 Thank you for that. Not only for the English, but I loved listening to your opinions and thoughts about the subjects. Looking forward to more!
i went to three different secondary schools in the UK and rule at all three was that phones were banned everywhere on school site. even if you had it out at lunch or break, a teacher could confiscate it. the only time you were allowed to get it out was when school was over for the day, so children could contact parents about getting home. i think your school is the exception rather than the norm for allowing kids to use phones at lunch. i think probably nowadays they're even stricter, as the potential for bullying and safeguarding issues is much higher. my sister works in a school and she says there's been lots of occasions of children photographing others and uploading the photos to social media as a form of bullying. i don't think it's something i would worry about schools not being hot on! as an aside, i love how youtube is recommending this to me despite being a native english speaker from the UK 😅
I had same problem, really good chat. Although I can’t understand all of it, I will try to study every sentence with transcripts. Thank you very much ❤

This kind of videos are really helpful for people who studies English. I want more this sort of videos to improve my skills. Thank you for sharing us! From Japan
A very useful video, really. I've striven following with no subtitles: it's been quite difficult but I was able to focus on the conversation. The main difference from a frontal lesson it's that in this case you have used a lot of connected speech and idioms and these are the turning points from a basic level language skills to a good fluency and a grasp of the language expendable in a real conversation with a native speaker. Thanks gaain for this video.
Your pronunciation is so clear that I understand it better than my native language. I even had to watch the video at 2x speed to add extra difficulty, and also because I got hooked up on the tipping part. The challenge would be hearing people with strong accents, like Irish, Australian, New Castle or Southern States. I've seen that some times even native English speakers struggle to understand those, and if you try being a non-English native, you'll die from either a stroke or your head exploding.
I understood almost everything at the begining of this video but the real native side i understood maybe 20 % of the words you said. This is why my IELTS listening practise scores are very low.
It's so superb natural real English conversation thousands of English lovers looking for. Pls pls pls make many more same videos on varieties of topics

WOW, it was so easy for me to understand the introduction, I felt so confident, but as soon as you started talking to each other, I had to check transcript...
Thank you very much for this video! I have an intermediate level and I got great pleasure from this video, despite the fact that I rewinded it many times. I knew 95% of the words, but it was generally not clear what they were saying, because half of the words were simply not spoken in the video. Very interesting.
Thank you, guys, so much for this great conversation! I've really enjoyed it! The way you communicated, the topics you discussed, the opinions you shared with us made this video really entertaining and thought-provoking
Great listening practice! At 9:10, did you say "init insane"? A short version for "isn't it insane"? I hope you upload more chats like this, because I'm definitely going to use them in the classroom. I love the Millennium Falcon next to the lamp!
Hey! Phonetically I said ‘Ent that insane?’ which is an evolved and idiosyncratic version of ‘isn’t that insane?’ You might hear natives saying ‘ent’ instead of ‘isn’t’ if it fits their dialect, age and accent 😊
@@smashingenglish I reckon I haven't heard "ent", but I know "init" as tag question. I just thought you used it here to start the question. I'll pay more attention when people say "ent". Thanks for the reply!
It was refreshing to listen and watch an actual natural conversation in English. Some other channels offer that but in reality the speakers in the videos still adjust their speed of talking and speak more slowly than they would in a 'natural' conversation. I hit the 'subscribe' button 2min into your chat because of that! Thanks guys❣️
Wow, this is such a nice video! I appreciate your personal views and that you talk 'up speed' and naturally. Learning new vocabulary in context (with some highlighted words now and then) really works for me.
I'm a little late, but it was a great video. This is the real English and schools don't prepare the students for this. We need more contents like this.
Thank you very much for the video :) I'd like to say something about tipping. In my opinion you should tip a restaurant. Generally, the waiter/waitress do not get paid well because of tipping culture. In most countries, it is discretionary but if you can afford it and the service was good, it’s customary to leave a tip.
For me is pretty hard to understand in that normal speech but I admire this learning approach.I had repeated many times in every session and pause lots of time to try to memorise and rote the terms and slang. Is that a right manner to learn English as I still figuring out which approach is suit me. Lastly, the video really fascinating and make me laugh which creat a joyful ambience to learn English!Really love it!

I have to say how much I enjoyed the conversation! It was lovely and provocative at the same time❤ thank you guys for bringing up such important topics ;)
This is really good vedio for what native speakers say in everyday lives. I cannot understood my native spekers when they speak to each other super fast although my listening score in IELTS is high (9).
I love the qualities you chose as the most important for a person. Especially critical thinking and empathy. I feel that in some cases passion can be dangerous without those two 😤, but as a cherry on top - for sure. It occurred to me that a person is only - not sure how to put it - allowed to act as a real, mature human being when they understand the basics. I also thought of gratitude and appreciation. That was a really pleasant conversation to listen to and a good learning experience. Thank you both. ❤
Hi. I am not a native English speaker, nor I have ever been in US, but I can tell you this. To the best of my knowledge there is a regulation in The States, according to which waiters and waitresses in the restaurants are compelled to pay taxes from their tips. So what if the customer doesn't pay a tip, specially an outsider who does't know how the things work there? In that case the government considers that it's the waiter's fault, because he did't make the customer understand clearly enough that a tip must be payed. This is what an American friend told me many years ago.
To be honest This video might more about sharing of your feeling for each other with british accent and i love to load that all.learned much appreciated dude take care.hope to take course🙂🙂
Got to save this for later. This is actually great, but too hard for me to understand yet. But, anyway, thanks a million for such a great and helpful video!
Regarding phones in schools... interestingly almost everyone looks at it from restricting point of view. Why won't we involve mobile phones into the educational process? We see there is a strond demand from pupils/students... I think teachers must use this keen interest in a positive way. Having games/plays/any other sort of interactions / etc. as part of learning is better than just plain teacher's speech or lecture... I think this is just a matter of developing a new educational program and yes may be having money to invest in it. Sorry for the messy flow of thoughts... you both are stars! 🤩 Thank you for your lessons!!!
