Какое гениальное изобретение, на концы цепей нужно приварить по гайке на 46, и увеличить число оборотов желательно двигателя, для этого налейте в бачок с топливом ацетону 100 грамм, свечу надо заменить на иридевую, обязательно снять защитный кожух чтобы он не мешал управлять нужными наклонами на 45 грд, и вот когда вибрация достигнет своего апогея медленно, очень медленно начинайте уводить в сторону заноса, теоретически это возможно, покажите пожалуйста на практике
1. центровка нарушена - редуктор сломается быстро. 2 эффективно работает только одна половина - вторая обратной стороной. Если уж плевать на безопасность и нет желания использовать стандартный диск для кустов цепь надо было разделить на 2 части и одну из них развернуть на 180 градусов.

У меня вопрос. Как так случилось, что до этого не додумался завод изготовитель? Выпускает всякие лески, фрезы, а вот о цепи забыл. Ответ прост - техника безопасности. Для работы с цепью нужны металлический кожух , железные сапоги и ни одной души в радиусе метров 50.

Так же сделал, только закольцованная цепь(получается двойная), правда дополнительно на защиту, для верности, укрепил листик железа - оцинковка и все отлично, 3й сезон кошу, гдето 12 соток и никаких проблемм! НИ разу даже еще не порвалась!

I would not make one of these. 1). Good trimmer or not it's going to wreck the drive shaft, output shaft, and the motor if you're not lucky. 2). If a piece of this flies off it's not going to end well. I had a piece of .105 diameter Stihl string break off today and strike me on the arm. It hurt like hell and I have a large welt on my arm now. It's still pretty tinder to touch. A piece of chain breaking off and striking you is an automatic trip to the ER. Nice idea but let a company engineer it and then buy it from them after it's proven.
Neat idea but one of your blades is backwards so one chainsaw chain is just slapping the grass while the other one is actually cutting. The blades need to face opposite directions.
No any part of this chain is actually cutting. All it does is munching / ripping the grass. It does not matter which way you put it.. The only way it cuts is the case when the chain brakes and cuts your leg. Other than that, what a great idea!
Real smart. Ever had a piece od trimmer line break off and hit your leg. Think about sharp steel in your leg

How's the balance? You probably start going through bearings and shafts quite quickly now. I would try 4 instead of 2.
Works good / but would work better if you split chain and reverse so both sides cut

But it seems unbalanced inside, maybe a little chain in the empty internal side could balance it, so it would be reduce the shaking and be a little less dangerous.

seems to work pretty good, I live out in forest in Canada so I have a brush saw ( big round blade on end) I can cut trees 4 or 5 inches in 1 swing....but that's very good idea
Don’t do this I had a friend killed with one of these home made flail mowers! The end flew off and punctured his skull - he was working 30meters away when the accident happened as his work colleague was strimming . The subsequent health and safety investigation found that the flail chain was not rated for the speed or forces at which the attachment was being spun by the strimmer, they calculated that the tip which hit him was travelling at over 200mph which if memory serves me is nearly as fast as a bullet. It isn’t worth it for the sake of a poxy video.

It’s terribly off balance and will end up causing so much excessive vibration it’ll tear the bearings and seal out of the gearcase.

You could use 4 arms arranged at 90 degrees, which give better balance for the operating
head end.
Regarding centrifugal force effect, trimmer head must be in perfect balance, otherwise it will cause vibrations because of the chain weight.

You made it out of 1 piece of chain, so only 1 side of chain will be using the cutters on the chain, you needed to cut chain in half and weld the chains where they will both be cutting
testei, vibra demais pois as correias e a soldas ficam somente em um lado do rebolo de fixação. ( amenizei soldando um pedaço de correia ao outro lado do rebolo de fixação). Porem, ao bater em qualquer pedra no meio da roçada de grama e correia se parte deixando inviável a continuidade do serviço.

Why not just use the Stihl Polycut? Much better for your equipment and trees. Also, it's not as apt to explode and send a saw chain through your leg.
A guy I used to know did exactly this...the chain broke off and struck his neck and killed him...and he had all his safety gear on.
You should sharpen the depth gauges and the guard links on the chain a bit. It will cut much cleaner and faster.....cheers.
How much damage would this do to a dewalt 20v trimmer? I'm currently clearing an over grown cemetery and its the only trimmer I have. It does a good job of trimming around objects but the tall thick stuff is hell on it
A poly line trimmer can seriously damage thick barked trees. The impact bruises the cambial tissue beneath the bark, resulting in a lack of production of new sapwood in subsequent years. Eventually the tree will die. Using the heavier mass of chainsaw chain, this will be more certain to happen.

Dude the links can detach and fly quite far. Good idea but steel cable with welded ends does the trick better also its lighter so the bearing will live longer.
Agree with everyone. It is far less likely to break. Dont have to change to spool so often. Though wear really good shoes for thos time you may clip your toes. I like he has the mask on better than just glasses. Because yes, like someone mentioned it can hurt when you hit a rock and it goes for your face. Like another said, wondering what may happen if the chain brakes off and hits you or something else. Maybe even a window.

I would use small hose clamps rather than weld. That way u could easily replace. Also i would add weight on opposite side for balance

Only one half is cutting with the actual teeth. Do two separate chains so they're both oriented the correct way plus you'll be able to better balance it by welding one chain on one side of the hub and one chain on the other side.

Yeah! no. if you need more than trimmer line, i think the circular saw blade would be better. This is a projectile weapon waiting to happen.
one side cuts with saw teeth - other side cuts with chain drive teeth. & it should be two short chains to stop out of balance shaking.... which will eventually shake it apart.

Диск нет, он не так статичен. как налетишь на что нибудь весомое так херякнет что в разлет: стекло, камни и т д. Not really practical, cool idea for zombie apocalypse.. but, one question, why didn't you add more chain on the inside to even out the weight? Even with string line, weedeaters get high vibration whenone side is just a 1 1/2 inch shorter.
Buena la idea pero hubo un herror al soldar la cadena,tiene que estar balanceada ,soldar los tramos de la cadena independiente lado derecho e izquierdo en paralelo siguiedo la curva hasta que queden en linea,para evitar vibraciones, que acorten la vida del eje.

Don't forget your Kevlar shin guards. If even one link should fly off it could potentially penetrate your leg or foot. Not to mention the damage it will cause to your trees. I'd be pretty pissed if my lawn care service came out and tore up all my trees with that chain.

Μήπως έπρεπε όμως να βάλουμε στην αλυσίδα που ηλεκτροκοληθηκε και ένα μικρό κομματάκι στην απέναντι πλευρά για αντίβαρο; Νομίζω πως έτσι όπως έγινε θα κοσκινίζει ( θα τρέμει) το μηχάνημα. Προσοχή όμως πρέπει να φοράμε αλεξίσφαιρες μπότες γιατί αλλιώς την βάψαμε.

just mount a circular saw blade.. our trimmer came with a few several style saw blades... triangular and with teeth.. atleast they dont fly off and cutt of your leggs

The only problem I see with this is that it's not ballanced. Eventually the bearing will get distroyed. But if you only use it just for big brush a couple of times a year then it's a good idea.

Такая херня .....Я такие делал уже . С разными цепями . Не советую вам граждане повторять . Иначе купите себе новый тример . Или останетесь травмироваными . Цепи об камни рвутся . Удар об землю такой ,аж тример выворачивается . Насадку в хлам за пару покосов разобьёте . Центрабежность не точная . Вес большой ,расход топлива увеличится ,а мощь снизится . Если уж и ставить , то диск или звезду заводского изготовления . А если цепь намотается на арматуру или чего хуже на проволоку торчащую из земли в траве ....... Я через это всё уже проходил . Леску не дураки придумали .

Я купил самый мощный триммер и пожалел он тяжолый и не просто леску уничтожал за 2 минуты, а вдребезги разбивал «коробки подачи лески» (стандартные). После покупок разных конструкций головок под леску плюнул и на Али. купил ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1Xp4WcPbguuRkHFrdq6z.LFXae/-.jpg. Замечательно просто! Фигячил по "целине" какой дряни не попадала под цепь: доски, бутылки пластик и стекло, всякие железяки. И трава уже не трава была, а приличные кустарники. Не чего не вырывало не гнуло вся перегрузка компенсировалось проскальзыванием на центробежной муфте. Главное сделано по уму. В голове разрабатывал именно эту безопасную конструкцию, поленился купил готовую.

Мне хватило такой насадки на два месяца. Потом перетерлись шляпки на
соединениях звеньев цепи, и цепь разъединилась. Пробовал заклепывать по
новой. Не держит. Заварил сваркой. На сварке держит, а звено лопнуло.
возле сварки. Кстати цепь несколько раз обрывалась и била по защите.
Удар не тяжелее камушка получался.

Only the very tips of the chain matter. This could use bike chain and be just as effective.
по сварке отлетит и по ногам. или ещё хуже в кого нибуть. а отлетит обязательно так как каленое нельзя варить - шов трещит и без ударных нагрузок , на крайняк нужна сварка спец. электродами и последующая термообработка . а тут ... потом цепь моментально заржавеет и в какой то момент может оторваться звено . на таких оборотах это как пуля , только хуже потому что куда полетит - не известно . есть же стальные диски для триммеров . и на фига этот дибилизм?

Балбес для этихцелей есть пильный диск с победито выми напайками режет лудше и нагрузка на косилку меньше а это мало под одну сторону приворил что вызовет сильное биение на оборотах что в дальнейшем развалится редуктор и плюс с таким толстым уепком быстро будет греться двигатель
