Hi April! What an amazing video❢ Beautiful day, fresh, sunny, relaxing and interesting. I think we can play wonderful music there. Keep up your fabulous work. Have a nice day and keep in musical touch. 🤝🤝🤝Satoru
I definitely used this as I was recording for MTNA. I thought about a particular beautiful sunset that helped me feel really peaceful and I was able to better convey that peace and beauty into Gaubert’s 3rd sonata.
This is a wonderful idea-- I already visualize during pieces to set the mood, so it makes perfect sense to extend this to pre-performance jitters, too. I'll be using this during my juries tomorrow for sure!
After watching this video a few weeks ago I can tell that it has helped me a lot with nerves and performing. It just goes to show how powerful the mind is over your body, pretty cool stuff. I also loved hearing about your perfect day. That does seem pretty great, nature is such a gift 😁 loved the video
Your breathing strategy is similar to mine! I visualize for my cross country races, so I can do the same for flute, as well as calm myself in stressful situations.
Great video! Beautiful park! I've never had a perfect day. But I've had perfect moments. In my meditation practice I focus on relaxing my body to the point I can't feel it. Then I drift off. When I come back to the present I still don't feel my body. When I start moving my body, my back, wrists and feet will crack. Due to the physical nature of my jobs it is much needed.
I love this idea so much! Focusing on the time I’ve gotten to spend with people I love while preparing for an event helps me to center my thoughts. I love the way that visualization helps me to maintain perspective.
Music, walking, autumn leaves 😊 🍂 🎵🚶🏻

A perfect day is contained of small details that make you smile. It is good to visualise to be able to recognise the beauty.

Such a simple idea but so beautiful! I'll remember to visualise my perfect and happy days more often and not only in the stressful moments!
Putting this video together has honestly been a great reminder for me to visualize the "perfect days" more often, as well!
Ahh sounds like such a nice place! Would love to visit this park one day😊 maybe I'll try this strategy next audition

Thanks for telling us your routine - I think this kind of mental and body awareness is really important for musicians to develop!
@@AprilClaytonflute I totally agree! I do it for other reasons as an empath but it does help tremendously for music as well!

This’ll be helpful for juries:) Though I spent the entire video hiccuping😅
I still use these visualization techniques all the time when I perform! Best wishes to you!
