Watching this, I had an idea for a challenge. Pick whatever nation you want. You can only recruit commanders/mages/priests - no troops you may use summons you may buy mercenaries The idea came from the way the mercenaries carried the early game. Probably not winnable, but could be fun.
Ah, I've been playing with Slowing Weapons, I didn't realize that 50% slower attack just meant "later in the round." I wish Illwinter was a bit more clear with the text, that's a lot less useful. Vitriolic weapons is great though.
The swiftness bless also works similarly. You move faster, and attack sooner in a round, but you do not gain more overall attacks. Still, when in combat, attacking first is always a bonus. Quickness doubling your attacks is a stand out, powerhouse, hence its cost.
@@BabelBuilder Something I experimented with was Ind archers with precision and slow. The idea was to break up the front lines with the movement penalty. It kind of worked, but not enough to be a "real" tactic (or I'm doing it incorrectly).
That "Temple of the Hidden Flame" in Povonia could have been used to keep spawning Will o' the Wisps. Which is not too shabby if you have a cheap priest model.
I watched almost all of your Dom 6 nation intro series. The only thing I am missing is a bit of AI challenge/counterplay, you usually stomp them because they have garbage bless/god design. I think it would be way interesting if you would design all of the participants at the beginning of the game (just give computer control on turn1), either use your old god designs you already showed us (so that we see how you would counterplay your own design) or just simply put something sensible for each nation. It would take max 10m extra on the stream but provide yet again more insight on how to play/counterplay other nations.
First, great feedback. While Dom6 does have the best AI yet for the series, it just cannot play at a high level. Setting them up with decent pretenders does help, but they will never reach the level of even a decent player. I wish setting the AI up like that was as simple as setting up the game normally. I may do the extra set up when I have more time before stream start, as I would just load it all up and start in-game. Glad you have enjoyed the content so far!
@@BabelBuilder I don't expect any miracles with the performance of the AI, was just interested to see the performance of the blesses you made even in the hands of incompetent AI. Thanks for the reply looking forward to the future content. :)
I like this idea, but also I'm pretty new to dominions too. Seeing nations with appropriate blesses etc is interesting though. Does the AI 'cheat' at higher difficulties?
Man i played a great game of as Mekone vs master AI, with imprisoned heavy bless. By the time my god awakened i killed 2 players aaaaand then i realized gigant hoplites arent sacred and my entire idea for lategame crumbled xD
That was your hubris for believing in the gods, godslayer! Man, I love those little things that make nations unique, even if they can be a bit og a gotcha at times.

pretty easy tbf. Pick an SC nation like yomi, or a popkill nation.
I totally thought you were going to say: "just play EA Mictlan". X_X
Thanks for the stream! :)
Glad you are enjoying them!
Man you weren't kidding about the uh..... Quality of mictlan troops.
You think these ones are C team level already? They don't really progress, even into late age. Oof.
@@BabelBuilder wait they stay the same in middle age?? Damn man they are... Up against it huh
They team up with some sad froggie bois, but they don't really progress otherwise.

1:04:58 Who could have guessed that bable's worst enemies are a little big tree and big black stone
Judge a man by his enemies I suppose....

Vitriol resistance is not a thing, unlike fire, cold, lightning and poison - that makes it very reliable.
holy retribution feels like a missed opportunity here. esp since changing forms counts as dying buffing all the nearby sacreds helping them hit more.
Yeah, I think there is a lot of power in second forms and HR. Something like Undying, HR, and enchanted blood/blood surge maybe.

Nice catch! Totally missed that! Those would have been great.

Damm. Sad that I have to leave so early on the stream. Oh well, at least i get to enjoy the vod
No worries man! We did what needed to be done to get that big W.
