In previous theme park games, it's the roller coasters that are the star attractions. In this game, it's the flat rides.
The kids toy you are referring to in 5:11 may be the Beyblades.

19:00 I think the misconception here is that the straight part was a steel rope. It has to be a pole. The burp is not a weight but the connector between the rope and the pole.

And don't forget about triggers. A lot of awesome animatronics .. ON LOOP
The battle tops game is called crossfire!

I think the game you were talking about with the pagoda ride is how kids used to play with tops, and then in the 90s they made a bunch of little battle arena type games with tops.
I thought the first PacMan ride would spin on it's axis. It was disappointing that people pre-ordered for that.
