How To: Finger Coils on Short Tapered Cut

  • Check out how I get my finger coils on my short tapered cut! Now Remember if you're going to try this style, you get your best results adding oil to your hair first before the gel. The oil keeps your hair moist and allows it to dry shiny, while stopping the gel from flaking up over the course of the following days.
You can purchase the Oil that I used here: bit.ly/YJAhaircare

This Is the way to go ladies! Natural hair, natural bounce, natural curls, natural spirals, natural coils, natural healthy hair! No chemicals, no hot plates (but each to their own), no more bowing down to society or society’s idea of ‘beautiful hair’, eff all that! Let’s just be us!

I’m always so grateful for all those wonderful ladies who teach us how to treat our natural hair curls. I’m loving my curls more and more and I’m very proud of them. One thing I do miss at the end of many many tutorials: how do I treat my hair before going to bed. Like after a twist out after loosing them. Must I twist my hair every time? How do I keep my hair (it be a twist out, coiling, wash and go) for a week for instance? Any tips, anybody?

    • @LashelleZBain

Hey there. So when I go to bed I just put on a satin cap. My hair stays moisturized and I just have to fluff and go the next day. People with longer hair pull it into a pineapple.

Just did the BIG CHOP 🥳 I’m working with about 2 inches of hair at the longest part so yeah I need this tutorial in my life. Love that you advised to oil the scalp & hair because my main CURRENT goal is to maintain a healthy scalp, healthy hair, length retention. So I’m looking for ways to stay out of my hair while still allowing it to be moisturized in between co-wash, wash, & styling days.

I am theeee biggest tomboy and was just letting my natural sit here looking crazy. I was getting my sides shaved at my barber which was the only effort I was making. Now that is is in that growing stage, I needed more and your video gave me something simple enough for me to try. I coiled it and cannot wait to see how it looks in the am. THANK YOU!

I am positive about this auntie Jackie no shrink gel and BELIEVE it will work....and she WILL NOT be another product in my arsenal that is waiting for a happy head of hair to fall in love with.

I tried this and it came out AWESOME. This came through in the clutch. I just got a lot of damaged hair cut off into a short bob and silk pressed after, but once my roots started puffing up it was game over. This is a great way to avoid excessive heat. I do have some semi-straight pieces of hair so I just popped some perm rods in for those after I applied the aunt Jackie's gel. Thanks so much girl!

I actually just cut my hair off this morning because I'm tired of the color and me neglecting it. When I cut it back in 2017 I got hooked on finger coiling and would pin the sides down to do a faux hawk look. I used different colors pins based on my attire. I also used Curls pomade for a soft yet firm hold with oil. Your video was a great refresher for me with styling this new chop.

I have to keep braids in my hair for it to grow out. I will be so happy!! When it does. My confidence has been low every since my big chop and Menopause. Your hair is Beautiful.

Thank you for putting this video out there. I'm new to the short natural look, so I appreciate all the help I can get! P.S. Can you recall the name of that lipstick you're wearing?

Soooo I initially clicked on the video because my middle name is LaChell. But hunty after watching I was like this woman is gorgeous, the finger coils poppin, skin poppin, and I couldn't stop looking at your teeth(I use to be a dental assistant) a gorgeous smile.

Hi what is your aloe water made of? Is it just water and aloe vera juice or aloe vera powder? I want a distilled water based moisturizing spray but want to add some type of Ayurvedic herb or powder to it. Hmmm maybe aloe vera powder is it especially since I have some.
