You should reach out to your dealer & let them handle warranty, Hobie is not easy to get ahold of! I've had my PA12 360 just at 3 years. My 360 drive had a few cylinder bearings fall out 2 months ago. So on a Sunday my bearings fell out. That Monday I reached out to my dealer & by Thursday of same week they had already had my warranty approved & a brand new 360 drive delivered to my doorstep! I got to keep my old 360 drive & I'm gonna fix it for a backup 360 drive. That's first issue I've had with either of my Pa12's in last 10 years. They both have been very reliable. I don't fish tournaments but I fish a lot, at least 2 days a week 12 months of of the year. I haven't had any belt issues " knock on wood"! But I appreciate you doing this vid so myself & anyone else can fix it themselves & get back on water quickly! Good luck on water
Kudos for making this video brother! Before I bought my Outback I looked into possibly purchasing the PA360... Got a little gunshy after I saw some of the problems. Clicked on your video because I consider myself pretty handy and was just curious. This really gave me a better understanding as to how the whole 360 drive works. Very interesting! Congratulations on powering through that repair and thanks again for the education.
Awesome video! PRETTY sure I could NOT handle this repair (I'm no DIYer!). Luckily my dealer is doing that for me. Did have to wait months for the belt.
This is exaclty why I'm weary of buying a Hobie. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure all brands have their cons. But it just seems to be very sadly that Hobie's are engineered for high performance but have a lot of problems. Since I don't own one, I can only say that from seeing lots on youtube and discussion boards. I wish this wasn't the case with Hobie. Their PA14 360 looks so badass for ocean fishing.
I saw this video and thanks for the instructions. As I was looking for a belt I came across a Hobie video of how to remove the belt assembly as well. I'll put the link here. But thanks again! th-cam.com/video/RlJegsbP99g/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for commenting brother! I’m glad it shed some light for you. I’m just shocked someone hasn’t done it before me.
Great video brother. Looks like a total headache. This will help many!
Good idea
Took me forever to find this type of video ! Send hotlinks out to everyone :D
Thanks very informative and helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Hobie makes a pretty good video on how to do this. Go to their home page and click on maintenance and service, then choose your kayak.

Thanks!!!
Mine popped today😂 dangit
At 4 minutes. The allen key at the top of the clutch bearing, can that be used to rotate the drive?
Did hobie fix their issues with 360 drives or expect problems still
Thanks for posting
They upgraded the system. Looks like they may have fixed the problem! Time will tell.
Hey boss where did you get your belt? Can’t find it in amazon
I have the part number in the description. I searched that on Amazon and found it.
The link you provided from Amazon has a different part number than the one in your video???

It's a darn shame that this type of repair is needed on such an expensive vessel. Quality seems to be lacking.
Tell me about it. I have to do it at work when I shouldn’t have to. An un-used boat is having this issue that I have to deal with
That a 12 or 14 ??
12
All i gotta say is #*@$ those 3 hard to get screws 😆 had to walk away a couple of times
And sticking that rod back through
