R.A.F Hawker Typhoon , a fearsome ground attack Interceptor ! - SpitfireCGI

R.A.F Hawker Typhoon - two parts to this short vid, first we see the RP-3 rockets armed, then the second half is the 2 x 1000lb bomb payload . The Typhoon was a remarkable fighter-bomber aircraft that played a pivotal role during World War II. Designed and manufactured by Hawker Aircraft Ltd., it possessed a powerful and distinctive appearance with its strong and thick winged design.
This video represents some of the operations of Royal Air Force 266 ( Rhodesia ) Typhoon Squadron during WW2 whilst serving out of R.A.F Needs Oar Point nr Lymington Hampshire England in 1944. The runway/airfield was an A.L.G or Advanced Landing Ground .It began construction in 1943 as a strategical temporary airfield.
Powered with a Napier Sabre 24 Cylinder engine, the Typhoon showcased exceptional speed and firepower, capable of reaching speeds exceeding 400 mph and carrying an impressive armament, including four 20mm Hispano cannons and rockets or bombs. Its versatility enabled it to excel in multiple roles, including ground attack, close air support, and air superiority.
The Typhoon's greatest achievements came in the form of its devastating ground attack capabilities, especially during the Normandy campaign, where it wreaked havoc on enemy armoured units, transportation, and infrastructure. With its robust construction, firepower, and adaptability, the Hawker Typhoon proved to be an exceptional aircraft that left an indelible mark on military aviation history.

Wow, Gaz. This is a magnificent piece of work. The environments are well-developed and the cinematography in flight is exceptional. Added to the visuals is a complimentary, but not invasive, score and sound design. The POV of the 'camera' in a lot of the shots is unique and interesting. Great attention to detail.

Excelent!👍 Attention to detail. The undercarriage wheels must be braked before the undercarriage is retracted to avoid damage to the tires. When retracting the chassis, the tires can no longer rotate.

Yep that's right Mark, you would not want to be ground infantry, or in any type of vehicle including Tanks, if the Typhoon has got you in its crosshairs.Thinking about it you might not want to actually be in a battleship either! Massive firepower.
