I got my first gun, a Taurus G3C T.O.R.O. in 9mm from Rural King during Black Friday sales in 2024. After tax it was $240, and then I filled out a mail in rebate from Taurus for $50 back. So, my gun will be like $190 with 3, 12 round mags. I took the money I saved and bought some Lakeline upgrades, like the steel striker guide, gold threaded barrel with a micro compensator, and the gold steel recoil spring assembly. Still coming in under $500 total for the gun. I dig it. There's still a few upgrades I would like, like some taller iron sights to cowitness through my green dot, magazine grip extenders, a textured grip cover, and a new trigger from Keep Tinkering.

That sounds like a sweet build! Did you notice any improvements after you put the upgrades in? Thanks for watching!

I have had my sub compact G2c since around 2018 and its still going strong. Accurate and reliable well over 600 rounds. Can't beat it for right around $200. Best tax refund I ever spent. The G series are proven pistols. Lately I have been digging my Taurus 856 +P Defender three inch six shot snub revolver but quite a bit more money double at around $400. Two inch 856 runs about $350. I think the Heritage Arms Roscoe classic blued five shot snub either two or three inch has a street price of around $300. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! After using the G3 I do have a new respect for Taurus and I'll have to give some of their other models a try

@@TRP_Outdoors I have had a PT92, two Model 85s (the Heritage Arms Roscoe is just a renamed Model 85), still have the G2c, and now the 856 all from Taurus. Never had any problems with any of them. I did some DIY fixing to the factory adjustable sights on the G2c to my liking and added some elastic hair bands to the mags to stop them rattling but that is it. None of that was necessary though. I have also had a Beretta 92 and prefer the PT92 over it.

@rbm6184 did you have any issues with the mag followers? I mentioned it in the video and I'm assuming it just needs to get broken in. Just curious what your experience is

@@TRP_Outdoors No I haven't had any problems with mag followers but its not unusual with new mags and parts that need to loosen up with wear. Its why I like to get at least 200 rounds through any new gun. 500 rounds is better. Most problems will show up in the first 100 rounds and to a lesser extent up to 500. If the mag continues to be a problem then just get a new mag.

@@TRP_Outdoors When I do carry my G2c, I use a Galco Stow N Go STO286 IWB. Or I just carry it OWB in a Bulldog medium leather slide belt holster that fits a wide range of sub compacts and micro compacts. It was originally the holster for both my 1911A1s but it also fits my sub and micro compacts just fine.
