Incredibly useful, so well done, clear and very valuable. Showing the relevant product names in the audio track is also truly helpful. And the soulful, precise and beautiful playing is the icing on the cake, an inspiration, thank you, Brendan, appreciated!
That extended range is awesome! I can do that with my octave and Harmonizer pedals, but I could just imagine the possibilities with that extended acoustic range!
Here's a compliment for ya Brendan, Your a great tutor, you play the harmonica very well, and you must be good if J P ha.s asked you to do this. I enjoyed this very much, so thanks for the help . Lolwit
dear harmonica friend, i like the mic. the price for it sounds great. how is the name of the mic spelled? and pronounced with diacritic marks? you are a great teacher! thank you for the many fine lessons. truly, lance :)
Thanks Brendan, this is a really useful video. So much so, in fact, I have just ordered the same gear. Now all I need is to sound as good as you haha, no chance.
I've just been playing harp through an am p for years but now want to learn more about effects, so forgive this naive question . . . Does this eliminate the need for an effects pedal board? I mean, assuming you are satisfied with how it sounds.
This takes the place of pedals. Like a rack effects system, these are table effects. Personally, I like pedals on the floor, but everyone has different needs.
Brendan is an inspiration!!! Does anyone know if you can use either a TC Helicon Voice Play Electric (VPE) or TC Helicon Voice Play Acoustic (VPA) to do what Brendan does with the VoiceLive Touch and the Korg Pandora? i.e plug the lavalier mic into the guitar in and your vocal mic into the mic in of the VPE or VPA. If you can then you could have a particular harp sound and vocal sound synced to each song preset you create and have one effects box instead of two.
Hi Brendon loved the video, I have a fireball microphone without the volume , you said a volume control is important when using an amp, could you expand a little on that please. And what amplifier do you use. Thanks, Cheers
You need it because if an amp starts feeding back and you don't have a way to turn down the mic you can break equipment at a gig. You can also destroy eardrums with loud pops. It is also just essential to be able to control changes on the fly. What if you get to your normal spot that you did in the sound check but compared to the band you can't hear anything? Reserve some extra volume on the knob and presto, instant fix. Many other reasons as well.
Interesting, I've been playing around with my TC Helicon VoiceLive play but I assumed since it was made for singers that it wouldn't be ideal for playing instruments. Seems like from the video it would work just fine though. I'll have to look into loopers, or maybe a software equivalent. Good video!
Wow this is amazing !! You are awesome !! Do you give lessons over the internet? I just bought a Boss VE -20 looper / harmonizer I think this will work for me . Thoughts? Thanks !! Todd
Absolutely loved the video. The whole concept is brilliant and i love the way it sounds. Just out of curiosity, does Brendan tongue block or pucker? Does he use both?
Anyone know how to hook up a lavalier to an amp? I tried using a 1/4” adapter to my Roland Cube but I get no sound at all. The mic works when I use it with my iPhone, so not sure what isn’t working.
awesome vid and lesson.... Brendan could you please do a lesson on your high note runs please, as this is my favourite part of playing harmonica. High note runs with a high note conclusion blows my mind....especially your high note runs.
that's a great sound sir... I just bought the Pandora PX5 and Lavalier $10 mike... please can you tell me the setting you have for that dirty harp sound.. much appreciated if you van help me..
I don't know but I did see a video of Brendan jamming with Will Wilde and it was mentioned on that video that he was using the Korg Pandora Arena Preset for that jam.
I the wrong microphone the one I had was for a camcorder or computer and was also a condenser mic. I have since gotten a dynamic with the correct 1/8 inch connector, so there are several types of mic connection available with lavalier mics, be sure tou get the right one for what you are doing.
Incredibly useful, so well done, clear and very valuable. Showing the relevant product names in the audio track is also truly helpful. And the soulful, precise and beautiful playing is the icing on the cake,
an inspiration, thank you, Brendan, appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I agree. This video inspires me!
Love Brendan's stuff, very creative and a rare distinctive voice on the instrument :)
Hey, Liam. Just a quick shout out and thank you for how much you're helping people with your lessons.
Right back atcha JP, good to be connected. Nice to see that you're linking up with some UK-based players and friends of mine! Cheers, Liam
You Sir, are a gentleman, and a genius, you sold me a Lucky 13 within 5 minutes, at 6 min I was putting a G, in my Amazon cart. Cheers.
Dude, you are freaking great. Not just at harmonica. I love your style and the way you are advancing the instrument. Awesome stuff!
Trent Mason I wish the world took harmonicas as seriously as he does. A truly modern-day great on the harp. Love it.
That extended range is awesome! I can do that with my octave and Harmonizer pedals, but I could just imagine the possibilities with that extended acoustic range!
how can someone give this a thumbs down its great.
I’ve watched a lot of your great demos. It’s fun to see you just playing around (with stellar expertise).
Hello! I play ambient music and do a lot of textures. I use as a mic the Shure SM11, which is a dynamic technology but the size of a lavalier.
The best demo I have seen of anything
Excellent Brendan, thanks very much..
Muy agradable y muy recomendable, gracias.

Holy crap! I have that Pandora for years and NEVER thought to use it for this! I'm an idiot!!

Do you have a model number for the Korg Pandora?
Is it only for Harmonica’s ?

Thanks mate. Really good. I'll try and source a lucky thirteen.
I've been looking for this info...Thank you!
Can I plug the Korg and TC Helicon VoiceLive Touch right into a guitar amp/speaker?
Or a small P A.
Thanks for the tip on delay!
thanks so much - do the low notes bend on lucky 13? Great vid M8!
Great Video. I found the website for the Lucky 13 Harp, just need to know what that mic was?? Le Valie??
The two mics he used are:
--Cheap lapel mic from eBay
--Audix Fireball 1 mic, with volume control
jp
Congrats on the Lucky 13 harp. Let me know how you like it.
Now I want another harp! I love my Ozzy Osbourne C blues harp, but that extended range of the Lucky 13 is sick!
Wow this is amazing !! You are awesome !!

Nice! You can check out Brendan Power's website to see if he does lessons currently.
Aloha,
Luke

He puckers, as do I.
Great 👍🏼

Sure wish they had this kinda stuff back when I played.
Maybe you could start playing again. If you have breath you can play 😉
good job 👍👍👍👍👍

How can you use the lavalier on an amp? It doesnt work
Convert it to the right size cable and it works great.
Ah I was looking at buying some harp pedals and actually have a Voice Live 2
How do you have the lavalier mic connected? Mine has an 1/8" jack on it, is yours an xlr with a impedance matching transofrmer?
I the wrong microphone the one I had was for a camcorder or computer and was also a condenser mic. I have since gotten a dynamic with the correct 1/8 inch connector, so there are several types of mic connection available with lavalier mics, be sure tou get the right one for what you are doing.
J. Hendrix of harmonica
why don't any of my harps sound like these? they all sound like tin.
The better harps all have more body to them!
Cool video! Loop pedals are amazing!
