Das Wohltemperierte Klavier I Nr 24 BWV 869 h-Moll, Sonata Fuga pathetica
The Well Tempererd Clavier I, Prelude & Fugue No 24 B minor BWV 869,
András Schiff, piano
Love that they waited a moment to appreciate the silence before starting to clap.
me too
Es el último preludio y fuga del Clave bien temperado 1!!! Ya había tocado 23 en todas las tonalidades mayores y menores de memoria !!!! Es una hazaña enorme...se entiende ese silencio cargado de admiración, emoción....
For sure one of the greatest fugues ever written.
The sadly neglected and fully lost transcendent magic of this unbelievable piece.
Whaaaat? 😮
Вознесение Господне
4:35 fugue
Final chord of prelude - tierce a picardie in this version - not marked in the Carl Czerny edit. I guess Schiff is beyond reproach.
it's supposed to be in a B minor temperament, not a C major equal temperament
By definition, a temperament isn't bound to a specific key. The purpose of the Well-Tempered Clavier was to show that it was possible to play in all keys without having to retune. The question remains, though, if it should be played in equal temperament (i.e. all keys get the same share of out-of-tuneness) or a well-temperament like Werckmeister's that keeps keys with few accidentals a little more in tune at the expense of the others.
I suspect, you dont understand it
0:00 to 4:38 Very strange to have the prelude at the beginning not be the concert sound. What is that? Are you trying to defeat copyright? OTOH I suppose I have no right to complain really. Thanks for uploading all of this.
Motiv: 4:33
@Felices Cantus Bach Clavier: great job!
