As a Grixis player I had the biggest smile. You never win with that hand, but you keep every single time (I don't even own those cards besides the Thieves)
Also: has one of the most powerful Magic cards ever on the battlefield. Still punts during last turn :D But that's why Tomer is so entertaining to watch :)
I'd argue the thing he "discovered" was that he can be a decent aggro player, if he just follows through. Not immediately killing a single player that is not currently a threat can have advantages.
you mean, Tomer chuckling because he gets to play 'Crim' cards. Crim also plays those cards. "Come OOOOOOOOOOOOOON." - Tomer (who eternally campaigns against Crim)
I see all these comments being pretty negative to Tomer, but I think this definitely goes two ways. Every week, Crim targets Tomer for inane reasons ("we have to punish you for [insert really lame reason here]), has poor threat assessment, and seems to make decisions on what to play based purely on "what will aggravate Tomer the most?" They feed off each other. It bothers me a bit that Tomer is getting the brunt of it in the comments.
@@johnconway7713 I think because Tomer always gets salty and has big reactions to it, whilst Crim rarely has any reaction to Tomer's actions. See Crim's reaction to Oko this game.
@@johnconway7713 I think it's funny, people whine too much in general when they don't take it seriously. I do think Tomer actually targets Crim more though, whereas Crim would troll anyone else just as much.
The positive energy from Richard and Crim while Seth got to experience the power of aggression made this a great episode. I do have to say the positive energy and sportsman ship from those three is sometimes soured by Tomers tone. He sometimes makes valid points but everyone else was having fun but him it seems.
Honest this is hard to watch. Tomer gets so salty the minute Crim does anything, even if what he is doing is a minor inconvenience, letting the player ahead runaway with the game. Then when the misplays are brought up, he double downs on it. The salt is fun in moderation and I could see it as a fub interplay in the group in moderation, but this episode was like being force fed an entire block of rock salt.
I really wish Tomer would start taking these games a bit more seriously. How often have you heard him say "I guess I'll do that then...." after drawing his card for the turn? These clashes are supposed to be fun and rivalries add some flavor; I get it. But having a player basically bow out turn 3/4 and perform perfunctory actions for the rest of the game, really doesn't make for an interesting game. When Crim snagged the Nissa's Pilgrimage, Tomer gave up; his turn 4. He could've tried to play around Opposition Agent/Hullbreacher like Seth did, and forced Crim to react (he had a clue and Map to crack in response). He could've moved past it and tried to team up with Crim and Richard to fight against Seth with Oko. Instead he chose to just let the game fizzle out. Settling for 2nd place turn 4 and basically helping the player with the best opening, is imo disrespectful to the viewers and the creators of the decks.
Oh hey, Tomer's playing Crim's most hated cards -- Nissa cards! Oh hey, Crim's playing Tomer's most hated cards! Crim cards! Forreal though, justice for Crim holy shit, Tomer called for Crim to die in the deck intros then again when everyone was at two lands and the only thing on board was the Summoner that murdered everyone. Then he literally calls out that he's playing into Opposition Agent, gets Opposition Agented, and decides to just give Seth the game because he lost two Forests?? Meanwhile, Crim started the game with the platonic ideal of a Crim hand,, played one card from it to trigger Tomer, played out the rest of it to antagonize Seth while he was already dead on board, drew nothing but lands, did nothing at all, and got killed for it with the biggest grin on his face. I think Dimir is absolute bullshit but I love that it sparks joy for him. If he'd just stifled that Homura trigger he could have gone out as the protagonist.
There was no real way for that Tale's End to resolve, since Seth could have just Goblin Bombarded Crim out of the game at that point to remove it from the stack.
Richard plays terrible tribes like Skeletons, Kithkin, and Birds in order to contain his true strength. If he were to play a deck that wasn’t weird jank he’d win by turn 3 every game
They mentioned several times in the last episodes/streams that Richard embraced the cEDH life to the point where he brought bird tribal to a cEDH table… and won, IIRC.
tomer, you have always been my favorite member of commander clash, but the salt is getting a bit much and it does effect how i view or watch the game. edit: grammar
It happened a little when Vince or Jennifer was on there. But similar to Crim, they kind of relished in being the villain, or in Jennifer's case the spike, of their respective season. You need players like Vince, Jennifer and Crim so the games always move and progress or they offer a constant threat. Otherwise games are boring. Crim never argues that his stuff is fair or fun. He does it to punish a greedy table. Vince would argue in jest that it's fair or fun but his go to style is D&T. I expect him to play those cards in comma der too since that's his favorite deck. Just food for thought. It's one thing to be annoyed and salty. It's another to let it completely effect your game. Maybe filming the cams isnt great or if theres a way you can step back and take a breather if Crims really getting under your skin.
It's getting tiresome watching every episode of commander clash where Tomer complains about everything that happens while everyone else is having fun. Seth and Richard are playing against the same cards and they just have a good time. The biggest thing that will stop me from playing commander with someone else in real life is if they complain the whole time. Also complaining about kingmaking is in my opinion ridiculous in a casual game where everyone is supposed to just be having fun playing with friends
I love Tomer but I have to agree, it is a little much to complain about crim playing for second by not stifling the Homura trigger and taking the loss on the spot when he was talking that whole time about being Seth's lieutenant and also not doing anything to stop him when he was in a much better position than crim was to do something
@@georgemcgee2437 yeah it's so hard to show negative opinions online without seeming toxic and I don't mean to be cause I like this series and I like Tomer those are just things that I don't like.
I agree with both of you. His complaining is a bit much for me. These complaints, in my opinion at least, is why the podcasts exists. I sometimes feel bad for Crim because he actively wants to mess with people's board state and does not care about dying first. The modified banlist that the group made hit him the hardest, and Tomer is complaining that Crim is a hypocrite now for playing Simic more than anyone else. I have a lot to say about this because Tomer has been complaining about Crim's cards for like 5 episodes or something.
@@JHerrera1014 I couldn't agree more. My old play group tried that when one person, who ran Ghost council prison deck in BW, kept staxing the table. I learned very quickly that we were just bad deck builders bc that person couldn't really play the game and his deck earnestly fun to watch and play
I know this is like, y'alls job, and feeding the algorithm is important so it may not be possible... but maybe you lot could take a week or two off. The group dynamic feels kinda strained, and it's really not fun watching ya fight/be spiteful/angry all game. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but when your not feeling it, we can tell.
I know he's the site's main commander guy but I feel like the show and Tomer might both benefit from Tomer taking a season off just to reset. This is getting uncomfortable to watch.
Usually a big fan, but tommer needs to calm down on his salt. The rest of the squad is having fun and he keeps throwing a temper tantrum over a few cards. I get you have strong opinions about certain commander cards, but you need to play around them or not play.
Disclaimer on the Nissa Deck: I sent the decklist in as more of a thematic deck to play against Crim and not as an actual functioning deck in a blind meta. Crim's reactions were what I really wanted to see. Most interactions were cut for the sake of the "Nissa" cards. I am usually a control style player so I didn't want to add a large number of board wipes and counterspells since I wanted the deck to provide decent content for the crew instead of a 2 hour board stall. I tried to include as many cards that featured Nissa as possible and let me tell you there's a lot of flavor cards for Nissa throughout Magic's history. I decided that I would only add Nissa cards that had Nissa's name in the card's name itself, which is why you won't see cards like Avid Reclaimer and Guardian of the Great Conduit despite being "Nissa" support cards. In Tomer's defense, towards the end he was close to establishing the deck's intended win condition. Infinite Land Fall Triggers for Infinite Tokens featuring Kodama of the East Tree +1 of the following Simic Growth Chamber, Golgari Rot Farm, or Oboro, Palace in the Clouds + an active Field of the Dead, Zendikar's Roil, or Tireless Tracker . With Retreat to Hagra he could have drained Seth out or with Retreat to Kazandu he would have infinite life. Overall, I was satisfied with the piloting and still chuckle how the only Planewalker cast from the Nissa-tribal deck was Oko.
Tomer's problem wasn't really the deck. It was his salty attitude of getting trolled while attempting to troll. If you are going to troll someone don't be salty if they troll you back, just take it on the chin and move on. (Edit) the deck looks cool though!
I wish Commander Clash returned to a more laughing and fun tone instead of listening to Tomer groan about anyone (Crim) playing cards he doesn't think are fun. Like, it honestly comes off like Tomer just doesn't like him at this point.
Tomer has turned into the kind of person I'd avoid playing commander with at an LGS. Soooo salty and whining about cards all the time ruining the fun of commander.
Thanks for piloting my deck, didn't expect it to have such a great showing! My little theme of manlands and token producing lands to catch up after a boardwipe didn't really come up. I also had a little toolbox of goblins with Goblin Matron and Imperial Recruiter. After watching the game I saw some things to change like including Vance's Blasting Cannons and Outpost Siege to battle a possible board wipe. Really love the crew and I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store next week.
It is way to obvious that tomer doesn't like crimson and the games are starting to show it. Tomer is intent on getting crim out every game and starting to make crim play a commander game with 3 people in a pod of 4. I have been watching for years and I can tell you tomer will just blindly screw crim over if crim even thinks about playing unbasis. Everyone just watch how tomer acts towards crim every week and comments and plays he does to crim. Tomer will make plays that doom table to get at crim for right plays. For context I love tomer as a deck builder but he has gotten to toxic and I think Richard finally is catching on. Keep up good work guys and tomer if u play u can't make a person feel bad for his plays and show them unfair hate the whole game
Tomer’s such a hypocrite. Crim plays one card that Tomer also had in his deck and Tomer throws the whole game. If the roles were reversed Tomer would have been throwing a fit.
20:00 - If you're gonna hate on a card, at least know what it actually does... I feel like this episode is just the perfect representation of the Opposition Agent not being that big of a deal. The player who ended up winning just played around the effect, then aggroed out the players.
tomers salt from playing into a opposition agent and getting mad about it ruined this game just get over it lol u made a mistake don’t king make from turn 4
I don't understand why Tomer is getting so mad over a card he was intentionally playing into. Then holding onto it for the entire game going so far as to screw the others over because of his salt. It's really making Commander Clash hard to watch lately especially since this is my favorite lineup of people. Please, just try to have fun and not take it so hard. It's ruining your content. Edit: Now that I'm at the outro it's just even worse. Tomer trying to justify his salt but at least Richard is trying to talk some sense into him. Then proceeding to describe his deck that is meant to troll Crim. EVEN WITH OPPOSITION AGENT IN HIS DECK AS WELL! This is not acceptable behavior.
That's the thing. Crim didn't go into this game trying to troll anyone, he just wants to play his favorite cards. Tomer had the option of playing around those cards, but deliberately played into them and proceeded to tilt off the face of the planet WHILE ALSO GOING OUT OF HIS WAY TO PLAY A DECK DESIGNED TO TROLL CRIM, WHICH INCLUDED 2/3 OF THE CARDS HE SPENT THE ENTIRE EPISODE BITCHING ABOUT IN THE DECKLIST. The lack of self awareness is incredible.
I kinda agree with the other comments that like, I understand you guys are to some degree playing characters and trying to make good content. But Tomer is just, way way too whiny. Everyone else is able to take their lumps just, far better than he is. It's a game, and hearing a grown man whine, character or not, is kinda annoying?
Tomer I'm usually are on you're side but man stop the saltiness is not doing any favors to the game and is really beginning to affect the enjoyment I get out of watching your games and you really didn't have any reason to go for Crim except the salt.
I do like Tomer and his deck building but when he gets into the salt mines I stop watching the season and wait till the next starts after they take a small break. I don't blame Crim either by this point they should know how he plays and play around it. Magic deck building is about adaptation and overcoming things like this that's how metas evolve. Not just throwing games cause you are mad, if you do that you are not good for Magic and need to take a break. Tomer is better than that.
@@ShroudedBlade I just hope this don't become the norm is frustrating to see good players do dumb choices because they got salty for something they basically did to them self, and I understand Tomer have been like that forever but is really getting a lot worse lately I have seen their content for years now and I don't remember him being that salty.
@@Xileph410 when Vince was playing apparently he and Tomer really got salty with each other and is one reason Vince moved on. I hope that doesn't happen here as I like Crim and Tomer and I feel like the current dynamic is good if they can remember that it is just a game.
@@ShroudedBlade I didn't knew that was the reason Vince got out, thanks fot that info and I hope Crim and Tomer can work it out because I really enjoy the interaction they bring to the table (when the salt is not running rampant).
Seeing how little Oppo Agent actually did tells me that Tomer way over values how strong it is. It gets one thing, then dies. That makes it worth holding up 3 mana in commander. Hullbreacher is much much worse.
Opposition Agent is a card that is better the more powerful the decks. It was bad vs Seth and Richard but if Tomer didn't have Oko it would have completely shut him down.
I mean I agree with the conclusion that Opp Agent is nowhere near as scary as Hullbreacher, but don’t think this game was very representative of the power of either card lol. In this game it had a much greater effect than the Hullbreacher or Notion Thief did.
I mean, this game was one of the worst possible outcomes for Opp Agent actually hitting the field, and it still equalled out. It's not the insanely high ceiling that makes Opp Agent scary, it's the stupidly high floor. It will virtually always 1 for 1 as a minimum, and then it just warps the gameplay around itself until somebody deals with it.
Am I the only one who thinks that Crims deck was totally reasonable? In my opinion, Tomer exaggerated and played more than just suboptimally, which directly contradicts my own playstyle, so I wasn't that entertained with this episode. I still love you guys!
Yeah I was starting to get really annoyed about Tomer's constant ranting about these cards. Crim's just playing them to make Tomer mald at this point... I do agree with Tomer's stance on cards like hullbreacher and opposition agent's power creep a little bit, but there is not much we can do now, since they are printed cards. Also, there are still ways to play around them in my opinion
I think the issue is that Crim just loves playing cards like Hullbreacher, Notion Thief, and Agent, and expects people to not get annoyed with him because LUL GUYS ARENT I SO TROLLY?? He just enjoys decks that actively make his opponents have an unfun time Tomer is insufferably whiney in this episode, but Crim's Magic preferences have been getting on my nerves almost since he first arrived.
@@michaelcho6484 definitely, Richard gets it, he doesn't get mad, he recognizes how to play around them, he typically has the best threat assessment. I'd actually love to watch Richard play Modern or Legacy.
Tomer tilted himself out of the game. Tomer obviously doesn't enjoy playing magic against people who don't just let him run wild. He clashed with Vince, Muddstah, Jake, Crim, Tom, and even Richard (when Richard is trying). I really like Tomers deck building but it's hard to watch him constantly complain, politic, complain, misplay (because he's tilted) and just give up. Seth hates cards just as much as Tomer does, but he just plays around them until he can deal with them, while Tomer whines incessantly dragging the videos down. He even complains after they've been dealt with. As someone who used to be that EDH player, no one likes playing with that person and you need to get over it or stop playing with people who play that way.
@@MemoryLaneWizard I think they need to try and do better balancing the decks and try and focus on playing cool/unique brews or niche decks. Not trolling each other or just picking a deck cause it let's you play card you like. It's like they have two Stephen Greens at the table.
I mean, he did. Opposition Agent was an elk for most of the game. Tomer is just being overly salty instead of acting reasonable for the benefit of the entire table.
The problem is that that wouldn't have worked. Seth would have just Goblin Bombarded him to death in response, removing Tale's End from the stack and gotten Homura back anyhow.
@@MstrKipper Well, they changed it recently. They already kinda spoiled the commanders. If you know the artworks of the cards, you will already know which commander each deck is running.
Wow, can't believe they chose a Tevesh and Ludevic deck. I've got one but there are only 23 on edhrec. Here's the list if anyone's interested in having a look, super fun deck to pilot: www.moxfield.com/decks/PtkOFtrVikm6J2uBWhznvw My idea is that both Ludevic and Tevesh make people not hit your face, meanwhile you can steal +sacrifice their best creature or cmdr with Tevesh
@@Abzan92 The thing with Ludevic is that he's basically just shit Kraum. My guess is Crim saw that Kraum Tevesh was a cEDH deck and changed it to the weaker commander.
I wish Tomer would stop having an issue with every single person they bring on the show. It feels like the rest of the table are talking cards, but Tomer takes issue with the people every time.
I want Andrew back. His personality is so great and I can listen to his voice for hours. But he probably has enough work to do with his own channel (and maybe some strange stuff called work and private life).
24:21 To Richard's case: Spirit of the Labyrinth says players can't draw more than 1 card. Hullbreacher replaces the opponent's draw with a treasure token. So you never actually draw a card when Hullbreacher is out. All the draws get replaced. I actually abuse this in my Tomorrow deck with Possessed Portal. Best card advantage is killing people off before they can use them.
@49:50, come on Crim, don't let me down. Do the right thing. It's worth it. Do it. A few seconds later: Awwwww, Crim...You had a chance for glory, served to you upon a silver platter, and you let it go...
You could even have gotten one last dig at Seth; he told you/made a deal that, if Homura resolved, then: "I mean, no I'm not gonna...I will not ki--I mean, no, i won't kill you. I'm gonna attack Richard if this resolves." You let it resolve. Homura resolved. If the death trigger just so happens not to resolve, welll...that was outside the scope of the arrangement.
@@Sevifor That's the thing about Crim, though - he's an agent of chaos. He was going to die either way - either Seth swings out with a Homura-buffed board, or Seth sacks his tokens to kill Crim in response. Letting Seth keep his Homura's essence let Seth have some fun and certainly helped speed the game up. He let it happen just to see where things went.
Tomer seems a bit tired. He still is my favorite of the group, if there is such a thing even, I like watching his deck techs and brew sundays etc., the group as a whole being one of my favorites so far. But maybe everyone meming on him for "Ondu inversion" or "Hedron Archive" and the inclusion of more cards like Hullbreecher and Op. Agent have tired him out, but even after the new House Bans, Rhystic Study and all, he just seems exhausted? I don't know, making a lot of assumptions right now ^^
@@ShroudedBlade No, I really don't think so, watching previous episodes, he seems like the most energized of the bunch in general, next to Crim who just relishes in his villany. Maybe he's just in a bad mood lately being bombarded with more and more of the same cards/playstyle, and I get the feeling he conflates it a lot with Crim's attitude. Obviously, me, a stranger, can analyze their antics perfectly. Maybe he just needs some time to refresh, maybe seasons end will calm nerves down. I see so many comments here commenting on him being salty and whiny, and yeah, him complaining is sometimes part of the fun, but he also get's really excited and boasterous and happy at times. I feel like it's unfair to judge him based on some attitudes I saw him having lately (the worst offender being the non-banlist episode, that saw him breaking down upon the might of Rhystic Study).
People thinking Tomer is being overly salty here should go back and watch the episodes with Vince XD... Then again I almost quit watching commander clash during that period so I guess I get it.
As a big fan of lich cards, I was excited to see them, sadly didn't happen, but Seth going full aggro made up for it. Shame for all the needless salt though, game could've been much more fun without it.
That's actually a super cool use for the mirror. My favorite is the vintage super league deck Matt Nass ran that used it and the fact that channel doesn't end until the turn does. So you channel play the mirror pay all your life, shuffle and draw seven and get to use your new 20 life to keep doing channel things
I started magic by playing commander and not long after I became strictly a limited player. I haven't played commander in at least 5 years yet I still enjoy watching this series, watching the comradery and neat decks 👍. Keep it up guys. I still own a Meren deck somewhere.
Homura is officially one of my favourite things ever... It's an ENTIRE TEAM Shiv's Embrace, a card that won me many a game in high school for my red aggro deck (that was short of mana because I didn't have enough mountains. I shit you not. I put a Thran Dynamo in to make up for it). That's a really great effect though, and red can go pretty wide, I feel like that might be pretty fun. Kingmaking, as I understand it, is when a player who is going to lose for sure does something that changes the outcome of the game, rather than just dying quietly. Famously, if you use Pact of Negation when you can't pay for it next turn to stop someone else's combo, that's considered kingmaking, and you shouldn't take away someone else's win when it costs you the game. I think it can also be when you do something like sacrificing your board to maul 1 player, helping the other 2 beat that player. This is frowned upon in some groups, but I think it can be relevant if a player is consistently the archenemy rather than it being a traditional free-for-all. I think it's especially frowned upon when someone more or less builds a deck that exists to help their friend win, or lets them chose who will win via politics, while having no hope of winning themselves.
I believe the original lich comes from Russian folklore of Koschei who hid his soul in a needle inside an egg that was in a duck. It is also part of the origin for nesting dolls
I looked Crim's opening hand, saw [Hullbreacher], [Notion Thief], [Opposition Agent], [Thief of Sanity] and 2 lands. Immediately thought "Misery is definitely on the menu today."
Kind of hilarious that fans of this channel still can't build decks with a moderate amount of interaction and boardwipes. Just throw in a boardwipe or two and couple removal spells. There are always problem permanents you gotta get rid of.
I play jank in edh that not many people play and I always put in the interaction ramp and card selection my colours can use because if I'm going to win I want it to be at least by turn 12 not 30
I know this video is old now but I'd just like to correct what Richard said about Spirit of the Labyrinth and Hullbreacher. If you have already drawn one card for the turn then Hullbreacher can not replace any of your future attempted draws for the turn as they just can't happen, and if something can't happen it can't be replaced. However, let's say you control spirit of the Labyrinth and Hullbreacher and cast wheel of fortune on your turn. Since your opponents first instance of drawing a card is replaced by Hullbreacher Spirit doesn't intervene and let's them keep attempting to draw the other 6 cards only to be replaced by Hullbreacher
Ohh man, that homura deck is verrrrry close to my marton stromgald deck. I absolutely love mono red, so I was happy to see them playing it doing what it does best. On a side note, since I love mono red so much, I've built Homura as a commander as well. Since I have the stromgald deck as tokens, I needed a different theme for Homura, and built them in a... less optimal way, enchantments. My guiding theory is that, since red has many board wipes that hit everything aside from enchantments, I can use that removal to clear the board, while leaving my enchantments untouched. The deck does this, however, since red isn't a great color for enchantments, and many of it's enchantments only apply for combat and creatures, the board I'm left with is far from ideal, and most of the time my opponents can actually rebuild before I can close out the game. Just wanted to share another potential way to build them... a bad way.
18:15 Conceptually, D&D-type liches probably derive from Koschei the Deathless, a villain in Russian folklore who, depending on the story, keeps his soul inside an egg, inside a duck, inside a box, on an island, etc. Phylacteries are an actual thing, but they're leather boxes that Jewish people wear, with scrolls of scripture inside. It's honestly kinda racist that Gary Gygax chose that particular term for a lich's soul container...
I don't know if secretly picking decks to troll one another was a good idea, especially considering the salt it caused from sabotaging each other while another player was already running away with the game. I realize it's probably not feasible to ask Tomer to take a season off after this one, considering he is probably the driving force behind Commander Clash, but his in-game relation with Crim is definitely not healthy for the series. Carrying over grief from previous games and using the tiniest reason to revive a rivalry hurts the entertainment value, because it takes away from the lightheartedness that makes Commander Clash so enjoyable to watch.
@@whaleofdarkness I don't remember a lot about Jake, except maybe that he seemed more spiky than trolly. Vince seems to be the "taxing = fun" kind of person, whereas Crim is an "I'm the archenemy and I like it" type of personality who apparently took the podcast about dealing with archenemy as instructions on becoming archenemy more efficiently.
I think Crim's decks are fine and part of the format, however Crim and Tomer clearly need to sit down and chat because this whole "high tension" / "play to make someone else lose" is quite lame.
Tomer intentionally shows up planning to troll Crim. Gets trolled by Crim.

But that's why Tomer is so entertaining to watch :)
Seth discovered something even better than drawing cards: bullying an entire table for an hour
I'd argue the thing he "discovered" was that he can be a decent aggro player, if he just follows through. Not immediately killing a single player that is not currently a threat can have advantages.
He learned how to be politically aggressive with his deck lol really like seeing seth do awesome plays and not durdle all the time anymore.
Good Lord Crim's opening hand... how did he not even giggle a little bit
Because that's what Crim expects every opening hand to look like
Its because he loves having hands like that which makes me dislike Crim in the first place
I groaned out load when I saw that hand. Gross.
He made a little comment that I think he was very careful to not give away "I've got a stupidly obnoxious hand"
Right? I was giggling for Crim the entire time.
Tomer purposefully playing into opposition agent then pissing about it for the rest of the match is pretty much archetypal commander clash
you mean, Tomer chuckling because he gets to play 'Crim' cards.
Crim also plays those cards.
"Come OOOOOOOOOOOOOON." - Tomer (who eternally campaigns against Crim)
I see all these comments being pretty negative to Tomer, but I think this definitely goes two ways. Second place is very much a thing in cedh for the rest of the table 12/13
In this week of "Punt or Bluff" you'll never guess what Tomer does!
Tomers attitude has been bringing down the mood lately
Tomer is just always so salty for his own punts
Yes, pretty terrible to watch.
Listening to Richard lately, it seems he has a more competitive thought process with the game. I'm liking it!
He recently started playing cedh and he said he loves all the viable Janky tribes in it.
Tomer played terribly there. Richard knows what's up.
tomer, you have always been my favorite member of commander clash, but the salt is getting a bit much and it does effect how i view or watch the game.
edit: grammar
This.
also this
i tend to be a spike or control player, so when i see someone like crim get dunked on so hard, it makes me just kinda :/
For the first time I couldn't finish an episode of commander clash. Too much salt
@@michaelcho6484 Yeah and I feel like making someone feel bad for playing the cards they like is against the spirit of commander
@@JHerrera1014 I couldn't agree more. My old play group tried that when one person, who ran Ghost council prison deck in BW, kept staxing the table. I learned very quickly that we were just bad deck builders bc that person couldn't really play the game and his deck earnestly fun to watch and play
I'm sad you didn't go for game 2, I wanted to see liches :(
Me too
Tomer made this game hard to watch. He has an uncontrollable hate crush on Crim and disregards what's going on in the rest of the game
He did the same thing with Vince
@@HellBent4Kitties So Tomer was the problem not Crim or Vince? Seems so.
Tomer: the salt is real.
Crim with the perfect opening hand 😂
I know this is like, y'alls job, and feeding the algorithm is important so it may not be possible... but maybe you lot could take a week or two off. The group dynamic feels kinda strained, and it's really not fun watching ya fight/be spiteful/angry all game. I obviously can't speak for everyone, but when your not feeling it, we can tell.
Yo seeing the opposition agent in hand while the two expedition maps sat on board... 🤤
I know he's the site's main commander guy but I feel like the show and Tomer might both benefit from Tomer taking a season off just to reset. This is getting uncomfortable to watch.
This is what happens when Seth doesn’t have any card draw, he becomes too powerful
Don't mess with his card draw especially if he has to attack to get it consistently ( ;
Tomer did nothing but whine this entire game. Such a shame...
Tomer so saltyyyy
Usually a big fan, but tommer needs to calm down on his salt. The rest of the squad is having fun and he keeps throwing a temper tantrum over a few cards. I get you have strong opinions about certain commander cards, but you need to play around them or not play.
Richards argument about the king making i 100% agree with
I think it's funny how it's "attack crim this week" I am pretty sure it's kill crim every week
Infinite Land Fall Triggers for Infinite Tokens featuring Kodama of the East Tree +1 of the following Simic Growth Chamber, Golgari Rot Farm, or Oboro, Palace in the Clouds + an active Field of the Dead, Zendikar's Roil, or Tireless Tracker
. With Retreat to Hagra he could have drained Seth out or with Retreat to Kazandu he would have infinite life.
Overall, I was satisfied with the piloting and still chuckle how the only Planewalker cast from the Nissa-tribal deck was Oko.
I liked the deck and it made me cackle whenever Crim started ripping on green haha
Tomer's problem wasn't really the deck. It was his salty attitude of getting trolled while attempting to troll. If you are going to troll someone don't be salty if they troll you back, just take it on the chin and move on.
(Edit) the deck looks cool though!
Abit to salty for my taste.
I was so excited to see Richard's deck. I really love the lich cards, and it was a shame that he didn't get to do anything.
Wait, Richard was in this game?
yeah this was kinda sad for viewer sub. I mean it becomes unbalanced often, but this was a runaway meme
Ok that You can exit whenever you want from Tomer is Grade S Salt and took the fun out of the game for me.
Maybe tomer should take a season off so he can get rid of some of his salt
I wish Commander Clash returned to a more laughing and fun tone instead of listening to Tomer groan about anyone (Crim) playing cards he doesn't think are fun.
Like, it honestly comes off like Tomer just doesn't like him at this point.
not a spoiler cause I am mid match, but salty Tomer who makes spite plays really ruins the game.
I think Crim kinda ruined this game first
I mean he played one small creature kinda pathetic of that's all it takes to ruin a game
Crim ruined the game at like 3 different points by then, so I don't think it mattered too much
The big baby played his land-ramp into an obvious Opposition Agent (a card he himself plays). How is that "Crim ruining the game"?
Crim didn't ruin this game at all. Tomer was really salty and no one even played anything for Agent and NT and Breacher to take advantage of.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed.
He was like this with Vince too
Tomer’s such a hypocrite. Crim plays one card that Tomer also had in his deck and Tomer throws the whole game. If the roles were reversed Tomer would have been throwing a fit.
He’s just trying to be funny. They keep him on because Tomer doesn’t actually mind.
The longer I watch the more I think it wasn’t a deck for Crim but a deck to troll Tomer.
And I will get that plant.
@@Valkhyron that logic applies to tons of cards though, Opp Agent isn't anything special.
Am I the only one who thinks that Crims deck was totally reasonable? In my opinion, Tomer exaggerated and played more than just suboptimally, which directly contradicts my own playstyle, so I wasn't that entertained with this episode. I still love you guys!
100%
Yeah I was starting to get really annoyed about Tomer's constant ranting about these cards. Crim's just playing them to make Tomer mald at this point... I do agree with Tomer's stance on cards like hullbreacher and opposition agent's power creep a little bit, but there is not much we can do now, since they are printed cards. Also, there are still ways to play around them in my opinion
Also, what happened to the fluids in your cereal debate? Where did they go lmao
I think the issue is that Crim just loves playing cards like Hullbreacher, Notion Thief, and Agent, and expects people to not get annoyed with him because LUL GUYS ARENT I SO TROLLY?? He just enjoys decks that actively make his opponents have an unfun time
Tomer is insufferably whiney in this episode, but Crim's Magic preferences have been getting on my nerves almost since he first arrived.
@@michaelcho6484 definitely, Richard gets it, he doesn't get mad, he recognizes how to play around them, he typically has the best threat assessment. I'd actually love to watch Richard play Modern or Legacy.
It might be time for Tomer or Crim to take a season off, at this rate... 😅
As someone who used to be that EDH player, no one likes playing with that person and you need to get over it or stop playing with people who play that way.
yeah hes miserable to watch
to me at least people making absolutely awful plays to come in second is getting kinda old
I agree, the scrub mentality was strong this week
What a salty joyless episode.
Viewer submitted week as always the worst
@@MemoryLaneWizard I think they need to try and do better balancing the decks and try and focus on playing cool/unique brews or niche decks. Not trolling each other or just picking a deck cause it let's you play card you like. It's like they have two Stephen Greens at the table.
The pure enjoyment Crim seems to get from this game as everyone warps their thoughts because of what he might have is actually really fun to see.
If Tomer thinks that opposition agent was preventing him from playing the game, why didn’t he just use Oko on it?
I mean, he did. Opposition Agent was an elk for most of the game. Tomer is just being overly salty instead of acting reasonable for the benefit of the entire table.
Plus it wasn't keeping him from playing he just needed an excuse to whine about something.
@1:10:36 "There's only Toxic Deluge." as Damnation is staring the viewers in the face.
Can I offer you a nice lich in this trying time?
Seth wonders why Richard wins all the time but he is only hitting Crim while Crim is hitting Tomer lmao
That is the Crimiest Crim opening hand that Crim ever Crimed.
this is my first time seeing Homura being played and that was pretty awesome! i will definitely definitely consider playing it in the future
Holy shit that opening hand was the most Crim hand to have ever Crimed.
First Lorehold, now Mono-Red Aggro. Soon SaffronOlive's transformation into a Boros player will be complete, lol.
Usually love the content. But Tomer made this episode unbearable
Tomer's being such a BABY
I hope Richard brings back the Lich deck. I need to know if if this is jank worth building.
As I understand it, a lich is a wizard (a necromancer specificaly), that turned himself into an undead and as a result also has free will.
This is correct
Nobody: ...
Tomer: Yeah I've died to Hamora a couple times
Would have LOVED a Tale's End on the Homura return trigger! Strand it in the graveyard forever, take one for the team :P
The problem is that that wouldn't have worked. Seth would have just Goblin Bombarded him to death in response, removing Tale's End from the stack and gotten Homura back anyhow.
The video description seems to be wrong? It's from the previous episode, isn't it?
Probably just a placeholder so the decks aren't spoiled
@@MstrKipper Well, they changed it recently. They already kinda spoiled the commanders. If you know the artworks of the cards, you will already know which commander each deck is running.
Wow, can't believe they chose a Tevesh and Ludevic deck. I've got one but there are only 23 on edhrec. Here's the list if anyone's interested in having a look, super fun deck to pilot: www.moxfield.com/decks/PtkOFtrVikm6J2uBWhznvw
My idea is that both Ludevic and Tevesh make people not hit your face, meanwhile you can steal +sacrifice their best creature or cmdr with Tevesh
Classic petty and whiney tomer. Hahaha. I miss andrew putting him in his place
I usually love watching these, but this has to be the worst clash I've seen in a while.
I don't know, making a lot of assumptions right now ^^
He as always been whiney
Yeah those episodes are miserable to watch both came across as absolute babies constantly
Even if Crim cast Tale's End on the Homura, I'm pretty sure the Tale's End would've fizzled when Seth killed Crim in response.
@8:48 That starting hand was the Crimest of Crim's hands. I think that it was missing just counterbalance to be quintessencial Crim start.
As a big fan of lich cards, I was excited to see them, sadly didn't happen, but Seth going full aggro made up for it. Shame for all the needless salt though, game could've been much more fun without it.
i used to run lich's mirror in my heartless hidetsugu deck, with the damage doublers... everyone would die, but mirror would save me XD
That's actually a super cool use for the mirror. My favorite is the vintage super league deck Matt Nass ran that used it and the fact that channel doesn't end until the turn does. So you channel play the mirror pay all your life, shuffle and draw seven and get to use your new 20 life to keep doing channel things
I like your idea a lot hope one day I can do a similar thing in the one deck I have that runs it selesnya artifacts
So next week we get the return of the Gield of Guin?
I started magic by playing commander and not long after I became strictly a limited player. I haven't played commander in at least 5 years yet I still enjoy watching this series, watching the comradery and neat decks 👍. Keep it up guys. I still own a Meren deck somewhere.
Total dominating win for Seth- he never lost any life! So good to see Seth get an aggro win out of nowhere...
The other three players had no useful interaction lol
Did Crim not know he could Tale's End the Homura or its trigger?
Difference between knowing and caring
seth could have killed him with the Tale’s End on the stak
I believe the original lich comes from Russian folklore of Koschei who hid his soul in a needle inside an egg that was in a duck. It is also part of the origin for nesting dolls
You're right I was going to make that comment until I saw yours. Props to a fellow that knows their folklore.
Where do you ask for viewer deck submissions for these or where would I submit one for a future episode?
They usually tell you in an episode two weeks prior, and in the accompanying article on the MTGGoldfish website.
Maybe y’all could do paper commander to show off the cards that didn’t make it onto MTGO. I’d love to see my bae Veyran tear some ass up.
I play jank in edh that not many people play and I always put in the interaction ramp and card selection my colours can use because if I'm going to win I want it to be at least by turn 12 not 30
Most commander players don't know how to build decks.
Thank goodness
I will never be able to unsee the teleporting plant ever since it was first mentioned.
Just wanted to share another potential way to build them... a bad way.
Tomers saltiness throwing the game shocker
Does anyone know how Jen is doing? I miss her big haymaker decks. And she had a really chill personality.
She's been on a few guest livestreams recently if you want to hear straight from her.
@@kingfuzzy2 Are they on TH-cam Mtggoldfish or on her Channel?
I really would like a playmat from off the wall tbh!
What do you think is the difference between all trolls of Commander Clash? Jake, Vince and Crim all were kind of trolly in some way.
Omfg, look at Crim's opening hand lol
Ah will next week be the return of Gield of Guin? We shall see lol.
