I compared these two head-to-head before making my choice. This vid was helpful. The Toyota is defiantly better looking and better handling. But my choice was based upon utility, traction, cargo room, and driver's view. I now am a proud owner of a 2021 Honda HR-V EX AWD.
I have never seen a reviewer bash a Porsche or Ferrari because of it inability to go rockcrawling. So why in Gods earth do they think anyone who buys a 140hp, cvt equipped, subcompact CUV expected a sports car?? It was never intended as such. Lets be honest for a bit, if i wanted driving excitement I wouldnt be shopping this segment. These cars are supposed to be cheap to operate, practical, easy to drive. We cant expect a technoligical tour de force that handles like a Cayenne or Macan for just 20k. It just wont happen. And if the sales of these "boring" cars are anything to go by you reviewers might be completely out of phase with reality.
Most reviews of the HR-V sing it's praises when mentioning it's handling characteristics. In fact this is the first that I've seen where someone was critical of that.
This little lady knows what she's talking about. Per my mom's request, I took my my to the Toyota dealer to check out some cars. My intention was to discourage her from buying a car so she wouldn't have a car payment. She picks out this CHR and I was amazed at the looks, functions, and safety of the vehicle. I knew it had to be something good cause this is a woman who never owned a vehicle that didn't have power leather seats. So we get to the numbers and I am shocked at how low her monthly payments would be. We had to play the game a little, but in the end, I saw her happier and safer than with any car I ever saw her in. She doesn't read manuals very well so I had to study the car for her to make sure she got the best of it. As I did, I grew to like it more and more. Within 1 week I bought one for myself and 2 weeks later my wife bought another for herself. We're not rich either. I traded in a beautiful 2015 Camero that I owed 17,000 on and my wife traded in 2 crappy vehicles that we had. In the end, after the price of my insurance dropping, my monthly payments for both new CHR's came to even out with the payments I was making on the Camero. Along with that I have an 8 year free maintenance warranty (includes oil changes) and life time power/trans. Of course, I would have had the Camero paid off sooner, but this deal was worth the extended time. No down payment either. I test drove others but this one stood out.
I get you! I LOVE my C-HR and what is the icing on the cake are the available Toyota TRD parts for the car that further enhance the sportiness of the car. Enjoy your C-HRs I know my family and I are enjoying ours.
CHR looks badass as hell but drives like hell too. guess I went from a Prius and had driven Toyotas that didnt sound like a lawnmower. I might be ok with a CHR for short trips but 3 hours on the road in that thing
Was not expecting to hear “sucks” in a professional video. I find the HR-V relatively responsive in S mode around town. At least the HR-V is 100% practical, and no compromises made for style. Yes, some other markets get different features, but you might also get a smaller engine or no spare tire. It’s not like they get more features for the same money.
I agree! I just bought a 2 tone 2019 Toyota C-HR XLE and LOVE IT! For 2019 they update the infotainment system and fixed that awkward back up camera. The thing is STUNNING to look at, loaded with safety features and fun to drive all wrapped up in that legendary Toyota quality! Take the CVT transmission. Toyota has been making and refining this transmission for about 20 years since its introduction on the Prius. Honda does not even make their own CVTs and outsources them from a subpar company. Also the thing people don't mention are the option Toyota TRD performance parts available for the C-HR. Toyota offers options to both improve the stance and handling of the car as well as increase horse power and torque. I will be getting all the TRD parts for my C-HR. For me and my family, this Toyota C-HR is the car we have been waiting for. I just spent hours detailing it and it is simply beautiful to look at. It has to be appreciate in person. I feel like I brought the car show home to me.
2018 HRV is on the way with a refreshed exterior and all the safety features that the rest of our lineup has. Following that it will come with Apple carplay and Android Auto. Perhaps a re-do of this comparison should be done in a couple of months!
Serious question, why is the CHR considered a cuv and not a hatchback? It doesn't have awd. Does it have a certain ground clearance that makes it a cuv?
Super Dan Because it rides higher than a hatchback, and speaking of which, it does have AWD in other countries. Though I heard rumors for Toyota to put AWD and a Hybrid version into the C-HR here in North America really soon, but leather seats and the new Toyota Entune 3.0 infotainment system found in the 2018 Camry are rumored to be found in the 2019 C-HR.
Why does it matter if it's AWD to be cnsidered a CUV or not? The advantages of AWD vs front or rear wheel drive affects all the cars. AWD it's not the offroad 4 x 4, but something that several cars and CUVs and SUV can use.
I mean the CH-R doesn't even offer leather or a sunroof , the Honda is a way better vehicle even if it's boring to drive its 2 years old already, it's due for a refresh
Pure Life so, by that logic, only cars with leather and a sun roof are good? I'm not disagreeing that leather and sun roofs are nice, but that doesn't make it a good car. I'll take a good car with cloth seats over a very bad boring car with leather.
Google it people buy SUVs or Cuvs for space and comfort not for sportiness if u want that go buy a Mazda Miata, the CHR lacks comfort and that's what makes it not such a good but in it's segment, including that it has half the space versatility of the HRV
Toyota4Life really neither vehicle was declared winning, but overall to her personal preference she'd rather just have the crazier design of the Toyota dumbass it was her preference, if it was professional judging the HRV would have won
Most of the time she says that Honda sucks when its efficiency it makes the brand one of the best. And HR-V is going to be ugly like any other red vehicle (and for me it is beautiful). HR-V is an amazing product which satisfies perfectly the needs of people.
I prefer the HR-V. It's more original. Toyota has been copying many designs from Honda, and the HR-V is one of them. The front of the New Avanza is similar to the HR-V, and the back was used by Toyota for the New Innova. The C-HR? It copied the HR-V's name partially and copied the rear of a Civic Hatch
LOL, everyone says that C-HR was copied from honda's civic with the rear tail lights, but the C-HR has existed in japan and europe for a long time now. They never copied them lol.
I like the honda better these vehicles with this slope down rear are an accident waiting to happen in my opinion I feel so much better about turning my head and getting a quick look see before changing lanes that's just how I was taught. Thank you Honda
meme coco Ya know, just because Camrys were used as taxis and rentals doesn't necessarily mean the 2018 one is. It's completely different than any other Camry. And besides, I've seen a few rental and taxi Accords too. And good luck finding a fully loaded XSE V6 there.
Honda needs to go ahead and update the HR-V That old R18 (1.8L SOHC i-VTEC) engine debuted in North America in the 2006 Honda Civic. It has no low end torque to speak of but by now it's so refined it will never die. It should use the K20 (2L DOHC i-VTEC) found in the DX-EX 10th Gen Civics originally found in the 2001 Acura RSX (Honda Integra DC5 outside NA) That engine is even more refined and invincible. That will provide the extra power (& likely better economy as the engine won't have to work as hard) that people want. Add Honda Saftey Sensing, Android Auto & Apple Carplay & a Touring trim with those awesome full LED Headlights and the C-HR, CX-3, Juke & Trax won't stand a chance. Acura should also bring the CDX over from China and be the first with a luxury CUV. Use the 8 DCT from the ILX/TLX & the Premium tuned 1.5 Turbo from the 17 Civic SI & Honda/Acura will have a huge advantage.
CHR is as hideous as the Juke. And you obviously didn't use S mode and paddle shifters with eco off in the HRV. It's nimble and responsive in S mode. I got no issues speeding into freeways and passing other drivers easily. Downshift for more power
Everything about the toyota is great, except the trunk space is just too little... Yes honda isnt the esciting car, but those magic seats and huge trunk space really helped me decide on getting the honda months ago
IMO, the Toyo suffers from what I consider "over aggressive styling" ...this compromised the important aspects like cargo room and visibility. I think the intended target for these vehicles 'should' have their preference priorities leaning more towards functionality then style. That being said, these type of cars will always be lacking something - too small to do what SUV's can offer, too big to be highly gas efficient, or sporty.
The Toyota C-HR doesn't offer a manual. I own an SX4 which is like a fore barer to the CUV class of vehicles. Like these offerings it's not particularly powerful but the manual option really gives it much needed life. The ability to hold a gear and abruptly downshift to get out of a situation or just sling shot out of a corner is a huge positive. There is already many reasons why the Honda HR-V is the better vehicle but one of its most appealing features over the C-HR is the manual option. I think Jodi may have had a different impression had the HR-V she drove been a manual instead of the CVT.
That's too bad. Honda typically has well sorted manual transmissions with little to complain about other than a vague clutch pedal. Would you say the CVT is better than the manual on the HR-V though?
Both are pretty bad, which was surprising. I was expecting the manual HR-V to be fun because I love Honda manuals, but this was one was just so sloppy. Still, I'd rather have it over the CVT.
Subaru Crosstrek wins! Yes the CHR has active safety and cool styling (better than the Juke, which isn't hard) but Wow, this was totally biased. The main point of a CUV is practicality and capability, not styling and driving dynamics. Flexible interior space and AWD options makes the honda a no-brainer - otherwise you might as well get a cheaper, sportier, more spacious hatchback with decent visibility.
My Toyota C-H-R (Coupe High Ride) is same color light grey and it is awesome. I strongly recommend to anyone that wants to have a safe, cool, and economic vehicle.
We have 2020 Honda HR-V Sport, and really love it👍 Honda Sensing feature which was over looked, Is standard feature, basically make the car autonomous driving vehicle...Also standard is 18 inches all season Michelin tires👍 Very fun SUV to drive... The video does not express comfort and fun driving vehicle👍🇨🇦
Considering the Honda HR-V is 2-years old already, it stacked up nicely against a brand new model such as the CH-R. This is common for Honda. Once the HR-V gets the MMR (mid-model refresh), it will out-perform the CH-R. The CH-R is nice though! Great review!
That would be insane power for such a small vehicle! The HR-V is based off the Fit's platform. Who knows what they'll do! Safe to say the 1.8L may go. Probably will use the Civic LX/EX 2.0L Earth Dreams.
True, the Honda 2.0 liter bitch slaps that pathetic Toyota 2.0. Remember, that's the old 2.0 from the Acura Integra. What would be good is the Hybrid version sold in Japan, or the 1.6 Diesel.
Blackdynamite BD If Toyota would put a better engine in the chr it'd be a lot better though, the platform is more refined to where it has sporty suspension. It's just a bummer it has a low powered engine cvt combo.
i havent driven a CVT, they say it does the work, and by that, i mean the car takes you where you want but its not that impressive or fast. I drive a hyundai accent hacth and i want more space BUT not a big car yet.
This woman obviously does not like Honda cars. I don't know where she is getting her engine sizes from as in the UK the HR-V is only available with either a 1.5petrol or a 1.6 turbo diesel . Fuel economy in the diesel is amazing and the power is excellent. it is fun to drive. I liked the CH-R till I watched an online review and the reviewer was pointing out a lot of poor quality finishes in it with very flimsy parts.
FarhantheMovieGuy the chr is missing some features líke replacing the outdaded scion touchscreen moonroof AWD other interior colors and a hybrid but i prefer the chr these are some features that toyota should off put before releasing it i dont even know if its selling good or not
If you do get the chr, get the limited trim because it comes with a lot of features. I just bought a 2020 chr limited and it’s awesome. It’s not that slow, but don’t expect it to be a sports car.
Really curious to see what Toyota is gonna do to their RAV4 when they redesign it for 2019. The new platform (currently used on Prius, CHR, and the new 2018 Camry) seems to be highly praised by car reviewers!
I’d buy a chr today if it had a bigger engine and a proper transmission. Put the 2.5l out of the rav4 or the new 2.5l out of the Camry in it and I’ll buy it
i am a professional mechanic with over 30 years experience - you might want to listen. i own 2 hondas and a toyota. i am not brand loyal. chr has a 2.0 with a cvt. if you don't know what a cvt is - it's a constant variable transmission. if you don't know what that is - do some reading before you buy. it could save you literally thousands by NOT buying one yet. i have driven several cars with cvt's and i really like them - BUT THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE YET. honda began putting cvt's in the crv's in 2014. i bought the rav 4 instead of the crv because the crv has a cvt. the cvt is the best transmission idea ever invented but the technology is too new and unreliable. don't buy a car so it can stay in the shop. i don't spend my money so the automakers can perfect their technology on my dime. the engine and transmission package in the rav 4 is bulletproof. the rear visibility in the chr is very restricted. it's almost exactly a mini - rav 4. i like the chr. the 2.0 is not a deal breaker but the cvt is.
While the HR-V is immensely practical, it's not like the C-HR is worse than competitors, it actually sits pretty well in the segment - its boot is way larger than a CX-3 and Juke. Funny how the North American C-HR gets that diabolical touch screen - even the one we receive here in Australia is better (but still worse than the European one). Totally agreed about the verdict though, the C-HR is Toyota's best car in years.
Leading with the rotary engine did not turn out so well, lets hope they do better this time. Compressing air takes a lot of energy. I know this from filling divers air cylinders so what pressure and flow rates are we talking about?
After boot deepening , my chr has 438 cubic litres of boot space! lots of pace can be recovered by ditching the spare tire and all the foam compartments below the original boot floor and side-walls
CHR is obviously wining most part of this match because it came out years after HRV, they have tons of time to develop a better car than HRV. Honda had always been fast on car production. They always one step ahead of manufacture. When it comes to durability, nothing beats a Toyota. I mean the suspension, driveshaft, every parts last bit longer than Honda.
SHAHRUL AZAD ZAHAROM they do, . In Australia, they have a 1.2L turbocharger 6 speed manual. And in Germany (I think) it’s a 1.8L hybrid. Here in the US, we get an all motor 2.0L inline-4.
A lot of things she said are not available on the CH-R are untrue. Depends on country I suppose. There is AWD for example. Mine came with navigation as well. A drive recorder/dashcam was standard as well. I just ordered a hybrid.
Thanks for making me aware of how boring driving can be and my honda hr-v is great and does what i need like cargo room and taking me were i need to go ,She works for toyota
"I doubt she can drive a manual transmission" -- Why don't you find out something about Jodi first? I would bet good money that she would drive circles around you. But then, outside of having a big mouth, you are too mentally lazy to actually learn something on your own before commenting.
The HR-V is a car for USE. No comparison really. Disappointed Toyota didn't make a large cargo space and better versatility. I don't need 'style' points, I need functionality. Looks old?? Last car I bought had hand brakes so I'm not complaining.
I loved the HR-V both inside and outside. But there is not way I could fit my legs on the pedals, even cramped, with my 6'1. Yes, I know I will have a comment replay saying, I'm 6'5 and I have no issue what so ever to drive the new HR-V. Where are the days when I could drive a small Honda? My first car was a Civic 1991 and while the legs where cramped, I didn't complain over the 3 years of ownership. I wasn't even comfortable in the CRV. But I was comfortable in a 2015 Honda Civic. Try to understand the standards.
I like the Ch-r design but it is such a dealbreaker because Toyota decontented it so much for the US market. No leather seats, hybrid drivetrain, moonroof, satellite radio, navigation, or a nice infotainment screen that are available in other markets, so incredibly disappointing.
I ended up buying an HR-V manual because it kills anything in its class as far as cargo volume goes. It's cargo space is competitive with the next class size up. Also, I would say the clear loser here is the CH-R. It's not available with a manual transmission, no awd, has terrible total cargo space with the seats folded, and weighs about 500 lbs more than the HR-V. If you want something in this class and have to have a "sporty" driving experience the CX-3 is the one to get, especially with a manual or if you are concerned with power there is the Juke with turbo power standard. I will say that the CH-R does look cool but its just too impractical and too overweight.
Here is a photo from 2011 of the Civic that Toyota clearly copied. Are you saying Toyota showed a concept pre 2011 blog.caranddriver.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/2012-Honda-Civic-Europe-03.jpg
I compared these two head-to-head before making my choice. This vid was helpful. The Toyota is defiantly better looking and better handling. But my choice was based upon utility, traction, cargo room, and driver's view. I now am a proud owner of a 2021 Honda HR-V EX AWD.
I want the C-HR but only for it's looks.... So I choose the HR-V as it is so much more practical

She lost me when she said she likes the Juke's styling.
I'd agree with her, I'd take a juke over those
same Jimmy!!!
Gusteez
Style is subjective.
Paul Ramos yes and I subjectively disagree with her
Juke's one of the ugliest creations ever... and yes, that speaks poorly of her. She's not a Honda person anyway
Most reviews of the HR-V sing it's praises when mentioning it's handling characteristics. In fact this is the first that I've seen where someone was critical of that.

Gio Montgomery the car is nice asf and it’s easy to drive, nice looks and all but it’s a bit slow in my opinion
I would take the HR-V because of space
The CHR looks like it should be a part of the Honda line up. The design is way too similar to the new civic, oddeysey and accord
the hr-v is slow? it does 0-60 in 9.3 seconds the cr-h needs 11 seconds .
Errr... they're both pretty slow.
@@lasawbrewer8272 he referring to the reviewer calling hrv slow but not chr
In japan it called vessel it has 0-60 in 7.2 second
I've seen her reviews on like every Honda and she's very biased she a Honda hater for sure no doubt

My 2018 HRV awd has plenty of speed and power, this little gal knows very little. She should not be doing reviews.
CH-R! People are crazy about this car... and I can understand why :) Love it!
Interesting fact: C-HR stands for Civic-high riding because that's exactly what it looks like from the rear.
Truly got my CH-R 2018 this June 2018 and I love it so much. I'm a happy 52 years old mother of three grown-ups driving this car. Wanna bet?
Am I only one who think she is biased.
By "biased" do you actually mean "honest"?
Avaya Smith No..I mean toyota-vibe notes in her review
Well, 2 weeks ago, she picked the Hyundai Tuscon over the Honda CRV.
cadsux Exactly, man
since she's NOT picking honda, she must be bias... but I'm sure if she was picking Honda... she..... wouldn't be bias??

2:33 CH-R is really fun to "Juke" around. Possibly referring to the one of the forerunners in this segment, the Nissan Juke?
2018 HRV is on the way with a refreshed exterior and all the safety features that the rest of our lineup has. Following that it will come with Apple carplay and Android Auto. Perhaps a re-do of this comparison should be done in a couple of months!
aaronzatformulahondadotcom - Really, what’s refreshed? One new light blue color and darkened wheels on the EX/EXL. What else?
Tierney C we are wondering the same thing. I think it will be this month. They are ready we are just waiting for Honda to ship them to the dealers.
aaronzatformulahondadotcom - what refresh?
Hoax
aaronzatformulahondadotcom CarPlay and android auto are only available in the upper tier trims though on the hrv which sucks

That's a good question, it's clearly missing the U part. No Utility. May as well buy a VW Beetle.
apparently marketing...
The C-HR actually stands for "Coupe High Rider" so technically it's a coupe on stilts. not a CUV.
Why does it matter if it's AWD to be cnsidered a CUV or not? The advantages of AWD vs front or rear wheel drive affects all the cars. AWD it's not the offroad 4 x 4, but something that several cars and CUVs and SUV can use.

What about the hr-v with a manual gearbox?
HONDA for me

The HR-V with a refreshed engine could be the best compact utility vehicle.
How much did Toyota pay you to do this review??
Sorry, but when you give up interior space you need a lot more than just some gimmick features (which I turn off because they are super intrusive)
Would've loved to see the rear seat room, or lack thereof.
HR-V has tons!
CH-R.....definitly

Anyone excited for the 2018 Toyota Camry vs 2018 Honda Accord coming soon?
Let's just all hope the new Camry wins...
I'm sure Hertz and Avis are excited for new Camrys too.

Toyota depends on rental fleets to sell the Camry. That and old people.
Honda Corporate has ZERO fleet sales. If you saw Honda as taxi, they were personal purchases.
for me it’s between Honda HRV and Subaru Crosstrek!
Honda needs to go ahead and update the HR-V

The correct choice was neither. Drop the 1.5L Turbo & the 2017 Civic / CR-V head unit into the HR-V and now will talk.
Everything about the toyota is great, except the trunk space is just too little... Yes honda isnt the esciting car, but those magic seats and huge trunk space really helped me decide on getting the honda months ago

Hey! I've driven the manual HR-V before and didn't love it... it was quite sloppy.
You have to be the only "reviewer" with that claims the shifter is "sloppy".
"Thanks" for your "opinion"
Sorry guys, the Honda is pure, basic commuter. She is right. The Toyota looks better, drives better, and is probably dead reliable.
And that it is.. Well said
Subaru Crosstrek wins!
I strongly recommend to anyone that wants to have a safe, cool, and economic vehicle.
ill take a HR-V over the CH-R because Manual Transmission
We have 2020 Honda HR-V Sport, and really love it👍 Honda Sensing feature which was over looked, Is standard feature, basically make the car autonomous driving vehicle...Also standard is 18 inches all season Michelin tires👍 Very fun SUV to drive... The video does not express comfort and fun driving vehicle👍🇨🇦
You can't even compare them since C-HR is not even considered to be a crossover as it is not AWD ! it is just a back Hatchback!
Considering the Honda HR-V is 2-years old already, it stacked up nicely against a brand new model such as the CH-R. This is common for Honda. Once the HR-V gets the MMR (mid-model refresh), it will out-perform the CH-R. The CH-R is nice though! Great review!
Toyota with 144hp out of a 2.0 liter. LOL. Honda should just slap their new 1.5 Turbo in the HR-V and bam.
@@jimmypena2442 better engine? Wtf?
I don't know why anyone would buy a car without the safety features. Getting there alive always a most.
She clearly has her preference, Toyota, so she is just casually bad-mouthing the Honda HRV.
i havent driven a CVT, they say it does the work, and by that, i mean the car takes you where you want but its not that impressive or fast. I drive a hyundai accent hacth and i want more space BUT not a big car yet.
Agree
Finally an American of color doing reviews!
The Toyota seems as dated as the HRV. Needs new tech already
Chr vs juke? How's the numbers match up
CHR.. Juke is discontinued
How do you know if a car is fun to drive?
I personally prefer the CH-R.
EDDY SENG You're not alone.
FarhantheMovieGuy the chr is missing some features líke replacing the outdaded scion touchscreen moonroof AWD other interior colors and a hybrid but i prefer the chr these are some features that toyota should off put before releasing it i dont even know if its selling good or not
EDDY SENG agreed
I pick the toyota chr Honda hrv sucks
Thats why I bought one, my first big boy purchase.
If you do get the chr, get the limited trim because it comes with a lot of features. I just bought a 2020 chr limited and it’s awesome. It’s not that slow, but don’t expect it to be a sports car.
I would never understand ppl that say a mini suv is slow, bro if you want to race with a car like this it’s your problem not the car
U guys should try the dual clutch transmission hybrid hrv version.
Really curious to see what Toyota is gonna do to their RAV4 when they redesign it for 2019. The new platform (currently used on Prius, CHR, and the new 2018 Camry) seems to be highly praised by car reviewers!
I'll go with the Subaru Crosstrek!
I’d buy a chr today if it had a bigger engine and a proper transmission. Put the 2.5l out of the rav4 or the new 2.5l out of the Camry in it and I’ll buy it
CX-3 vs CH-R ? Ready.... Go!
Hrv design is present look wise..Chr design is future proof wise
Not decided. Still looking. Maybe the 2018 HR-V.
I bought a 2018 HRV with awd, and to me it is the perfect vehicle. I average 31.5 mpg mixed driving. I can find NOTHING to complain about.
i am a professional mechanic with over 30 years experience - you might want to listen.
i own 2 hondas and a toyota. i am not brand loyal.
chr has a 2.0 with a cvt.
if you don't know what a cvt is - it's a constant variable transmission. if you don't know what that is - do some reading before you buy. it could save you literally thousands by NOT buying one yet.
i have driven several cars with cvt's and i really like them - BUT THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE YET.
honda began putting cvt's in the crv's in 2014.
i bought the rav 4 instead of the crv because the crv has a cvt.
the cvt is the best transmission idea ever invented but the technology is too new and unreliable. don't buy a car so it can stay in the shop. i don't spend my money so the automakers can perfect their technology on my dime.
the engine and transmission package in the rav 4 is bulletproof.
the rear visibility in the chr is very restricted. it's almost exactly a mini - rav 4.
i like the chr. the 2.0 is not a deal breaker but the cvt is.
I have a 2018 HRV with the cvt. I sure hope that Honda has perfected the cvt by now. So far mine is perfect, but it's almost brand new still.
what? in europe whe do have the C-HR as AWD and also hybrid., also Navigation
Honda can fix this easily by just increasing the engine to 2 liters.
Nice
NO awd, NO sunroof, NO leather, NO sirius/xm = NO SALE. What the hell was Toyota thinking??
CHR is obviously wining most part of this match because it came out years after HRV, they have tons of time to develop a better car than HRV. Honda had always been fast on car production. They always one step ahead of manufacture. When it comes to durability, nothing beats a Toyota. I mean the suspension, driveshaft, every parts last bit longer than Honda.
CH-R with 2.0 liter engine? I thought Toyota only offers 2 alternative engines for its CH-R ie either 1.2 liter turbo or 1.8 liter CVT engine?
SHAHRUL AZAD ZAHAROM they do, . In Australia, they have a 1.2L turbocharger 6 speed manual. And in Germany (I think) it’s a 1.8L hybrid. Here in the US, we get an all motor 2.0L inline-4.
You really don't like Honda
It's really shows
Thumbs down for you
Not the cuv's
hateusename your the worst the Toyota looks weird
Honda sure looks better. ...the Toyota is just too busy and weird looking.
Exactly what I think John.
But drives much better. More modern looking.
I don't like both colours.
A lot of things she said are not available on the CH-R are untrue. Depends on country I suppose. There is AWD for example. Mine came with navigation as well. A drive recorder/dashcam was standard as well. I just ordered a hybrid.
No awd in the US. Both are stupid for the US market
JODI, great to see you again!
wow.. i choose hrv
The C-HR is really Cool
Title should call it, "The Millenial Review"...
There should be reviews for Millenials and then there should be Reviews for normal people.
I like the Toyota, but that front fascia desperately needs help
It being 2 wheel drive was the big deal breaker for me enroll Iowa you need all wheel drive
Thanks for making me aware of how boring driving can be and my honda hr-v is great and does what i need like cargo room and taking me were i need to go
,She works for toyota
Jodi, drive the six speed. It is transformative
I doubt she can drive a manual transmission.
"I doubt she can drive a manual transmission" -- Why don't you find out something about Jodi first? I would bet good money that she would drive circles around you. But then, outside of having a big mouth, you are too mentally lazy to actually learn something on your own before commenting.
How can she drive a manual, apply eyeliner, and text at the same time?
Is there a 6 speed option?
Is the CH-R also made in Mexico?
Definite comparison between Ying and Yang. If you want more style and flair, get the Toyota, if you want fairways and greens, par golf, get the Honda,
How can they be compare toyota doesnt have awd, sunroof etc and its not on the same year.
I like the Ch-r design but it is such a dealbreaker because Toyota decontented it so much for the US market. No leather seats, hybrid drivetrain, moonroof, satellite radio, navigation, or a nice infotainment screen that are available in other markets, so incredibly disappointing.
Toyota is more willing to "...JUKE around" ya say.....*starts walking to the Nissan dealership*
No way!! I mean I love Toyotas and I have watched a lot of reviews on them, but none of them said anything like that about a toyota!
Cool Factor is always better than practicality ... CHR have the potential to become the next boys toy after all those sports car and stuff
It's Jodi! I'm in love.
Finally! An honest review that's not a sales pitch or a computer reading a script. Thank you, I just subscribed.
Toyota should have added the moonroof to it. And a better powered motor. I love the look of it otherwise.
Again one of this reviews that you clearly understand who pay for it
I ended up buying an HR-V manual because it kills anything in its class as far as cargo volume goes.
Even though the HRV looks sorta bland, it's better than that stupid looking Toyota. It looks much worse than "funky"!
horrible is the word synonymous with horrible honda H(ai)V.... opps i need hearing AIDS... i mean H(ah)V.....
the back of the c-hr screams CIVIC
Kevissen Coolen even though the concept for the Chr came way before the civic you’re talking about
Here is a photo from 2011 of the Civic that Toyota clearly copied. Are you saying Toyota showed a concept pre 2011 blog.caranddriver.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/2012-Honda-Civic-Europe-03.jpg
Mitchell C we’re talking about the newest civic not some Europe civic that’s not sold in America
